I often ask myself why was I born in such poverty, and the only conclusion I could come to, was the lack of money and education in my family. My mother was a factory worker and my father, who was absent for most of my life was an occasional truck driver, neither of whom has ever attended high school. Even though a lot of students tend to not eat breakfast, at Lacy Elementary, it is just the opposite. The bulk of the students come to eat breakfast which is a great way to start the day.
