Oh the Lies In a group of people, often times there is a person who is able to think outside of the box. In Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, Dink expresses his thoughts on the battle school to Ender. As a person with experience, Dink suggests that “’There is no war, and they’re just screwing with us...as long as the people are afraid of buggers, the I.F. can stay in power’” (110). Dink’s words cause Ender to second guess the school’s motive but he is unable to reach a conclusion. He starts to pay attention however, to why people say what they say which inevitably forces him to think outside outside of the box. It is important to be open-minded so most of the options will be well thought of, and there will be little to no mistakes.
