Due to the National Minimum Drinking Age (NMDA) being age 21, the United States has been removed from the category with the Advanced Western Nations and was lumped in with small countries like Pakistan, Qatar, Oman, etc. In order to find out why the United States is willing to be clumped with small, developing places like those above, many people have done research and conducted tests on various drinking related activities of both the past and the present. The research on the ongoing debate has found that while many people were for lowering the NMDA, there were just as many that were against lowering it. The statistics showed that the age group of 21- 24 held the highest percentage of fatal vehicular accidents with BAC levels being .08 or higher. The Holy Grail is thought to be a fine chalice or cup used as a drinking device. It has also been thought to be a stone, dish, cup, platter, cauldron, or horn of plenty (Day 122). The Holy Grail stands for a sacred relic that Jesus Christ drank out of; because of this many consider it the greatest item in all of Christianity. People seeking this great treasure; past and present have died looking for it. The actual object that is believed to be the Holy Grail is approximately seven inches in height. In addition to that it has 28 pearls around the cup, and is decorated with two balaxes and two emeralds. The texture of the cup is made out of stone and gold (“Holy Grail”). There are several myths in all cultures that involve when a person comes in contact with the precious item. Some myths state that if someone drinks from the cup they will inherit the ability to raise someone from the dead. Filmmakers of The Natural also demonstrated mythological and archetypal elements with most of the shots in the film. The character of Roy Hobbs can be seen as Sir Perceval, one of the Knights of the Round Table. The most obvious example of this is that Sir Perceval was a knight of the Round Table and Roy Hobbs plays for the New York Knights. In the legend of Sir Perceval, he goes on a quest in search of the Holy Grail. Roy Hobbs is on a journey to succeed as a baseball player and the Holy Grail being the pennant. Another example of a mythological element in the film is Roy’s bat, wonder boy, as it represents King Arthurs’s Excalibur. Roy Hobbs’s character also loosely follows the story of The Odyssey. This lithograph is a visual representation of a piece of music by Wagner. The artist uses certain elements of art and principles of composition in order to convey this very deep and wondrous event. The event in question is a beautiful scene in which a saint is surrounded by angels. Several of these angels are playing trumpets and you get the feeling as if they are appearing to him as time passes. The saint cannot believe what is happening before his eyes.
