Online Classes vs. Traditional Classes Although, online classes have been available for a few decades, the number of students taking them is increasing rapidly. Students are finding it much easier to maintain a job, a family, and pursue a college career at the same time. This can be made possible with the availability of online classes. While some students find it easier to pursue their education online, others still prefer to learn in a traditional classroom. These two different ways of education have the same goal: to educate students. Time is one of the biggest issues that people face when trying to decide whether to go to college. They are trying to find time to make money, spend time with their family, and take classes to better their education. This can be quite stressful. Someone who does not work fulltime may not have an issue with time for classes to fit into their schedules; but if they do have a fulltime job to work around, online classes may be the best way to go. With online classes one has no set time for when and where to do their work. It is also available to do in the comfort of one’s home. The time frame can be after everyone has gone to bed or when they are at school. The homework is accessible from any computer twenty-four hours a day that has internet access. Another way of saving time is one not having to make the drive to the campus for class; this would also be saving money in gas. We live in a society that is technological. Taking an online class is a great way for a student to expand their knowledge on technology. They would be using chat rooms, video conferencing and other programs that they would not normally be introduced to in the regular classroom. Using these programs, online prepares people for the business world. A disadvantage of taking online classes is that access to the internet is necessary. This would be an extra…...

Conversely, the fact that the former have a more flexible schedule than the latter is generally highlighted. In sum, differences favoring one or the other environment of instruction abound. What many times are overlooked is that, though online learning and traditional learning are different in many aspects, there are some relevant similarities. Both demand, for instance, considerable planning from the teachers and studying from the students. Furthermore, the student’s participation is equally necessary and effective; likewise, class management may be essential for achieving great results in the classroom and online. Also teachers and students know that giving and receiving feedback is important in both environments. In the same way, assignments are a huge part of the learning experience, since it is great practice for everyone involved. As unbelievable as it may seem, online classes can be just as entertaining as face to face ones. Although it is not possible to move chairs around or to have talking corners in an online......

It is offering more flexibility for students and providing individuals with better opportunities for postsecondary education. There is an instructor that teaches the class by giving demonstrations or by lecturing. It allows the students to have face-to-face interaction with the instructor or their fellow students. Traditional education has never been very flexible. There are scheduled times for class and working around that schedule can prove to be difficult. Often times, life events can conflict with the class schedule. This can cause students to miss class and fall behind in their work. While traditional education is not very flexible, online education is. Online education is the use of technology to share......

...The Comparison Between Online and Traditional Classes Kayla Staples National American University Kayla Staples EN1550 Online vs Traditional Classes There are many different pros and cons to taking online classes versus traditional in class classes. A counselor or teacher is someone that could help a student determine which type of classes best fits the student. Before deciding on such a big decision, a student must first take into consideration how disciplined they are as a student to get their work done. Discipline as a student is a number one factor when it comes to deciding on a online or a traditional class room class. Being an online student takes a lot of discipline because you do not have someone standing there telling you exactly how to do your work. You also do not have someone there who can help you right away with questions you may have on your assignment. An online student needs to be organized and able to complete tasks on a certain deadline without being reminded daily. Being a traditional class student could be a better route for someone who does not have much discipline outside of the classroom. While being in class, you have to get your work done in a certain time and you have that time to do it in class. You teacher and peers are in class with you if you ever get in a stump on an assignment and need to ask questions. The end result is the same, a diploma that will help you find a job in your field, but the learning environment is very different between the two platforms. Online vs. Traditional Schooling

...Online Vs. Traditional Schooling Sarah Ann Weinkertz COM/170 7/17/2014 Korijna Valenti There is a long standing debate whether online or traditional schooling is more effective. What people do not realize is that online and traditional schooling are actually quite similar once you look at the material, curriculum, and the instructors teaching the classes. The instructors for online and traditional classes teach the same curriculum, using different techniques to give the students the information that they need. Online and traditional classes do of course have their differences such as the environment the students are working in, the time they get to do everything they need to, the communication between the students with the teachers, and financial obligations. Online schools follow the same curriculum as traditional schools do, providing the students just as respectable an education as a traditional school's education. Communication between students and instructors tends to differ between online schooling and tradition schooling. When someone is attending school online they have to realize that the communication will be limited; the professor may not be online or available when the student is actually needing the help. This is similar to traditional school, varying in that connecting with an instructor is through online contact in comparison to the possibility of an in-person meeting that is typically available......

Drilling into our heads that, college is the best route to go after high school if we want to have a “bright” future. No doubt majority of students go to college directly after, but some end up waiting to go later on. Fortunately, there are other options available today for those who had to wait to go. Online schooling, the ability to get a higher education online, without the traditional classroom setting. Now the burning question, just how much better is online learning anyway? There are many factors in determining whether the online route or the traditional way is better. Things like the cost of education, the academic performance of students, or the environment you wish to learn. Let’s dig a bit deeper to find out just what the facts will prove! The thing today that most people think about before making their decision about which way to go, is the environment that would best suite their current life situations. For instance, “students who freely choose online classes may have different characteristics, like they may be older, or have children, or are employed full time” (Dr. Stack 2015 Learning outcomes in an online vs traditional course pa.9). Online vs Traditional Classes

...2011 Online vs. Traditional Classes I like going to school to further my education, the only problem is the inconvenience. With three kids, a job, and life going to school to sit in seat can be difficult. If you had to choose between online and traditional in seat classes, that decision should be based on what’s better for you. The option for me is taking an online class. By taking online classes, you can learn the same material, but in a different way. Trying to find time to make more money, spend time with the family, and take classes to better my life eliminates the need to sit in class to learn. I have been able to experience online and traditional classes. I believe these two learning systems compare with class variety, learning skills and class diversity. When taking a class in seat or online, your teacher are providing goals within the class that need to be accomplished within a time period. Books are a necessity in order to learn and develop skills. The students learn in seat when the teacher lectures on a subject and the student is tested on their knowledge. The students learn the same online when the teacher assigns readings on the subject and is tested as well. For the ease of working adults most schools offers the same class online and in seat. They both have diversity within the classrooms. The students are able to interact with classmates with a different background and aspects of life. Most people are faced with making a decision to take a class......

Online Classes vs Traditional Classes

...Online Classes versus Traditional Classes Technology and education has given students many choices in how they obtain their education such as online classes. There have been numerous discussions recently about the success of online learning. The success of the online classes versus traditional classes is based upon the uniqueness of each individual way of learning. Online classes and traditional classes provide flexibility, direct communication and course materials. Studies have shown that online classes can be successful and that on average most students perform better than being in a traditional classroom. The argument of online classes and traditional classes; which is better than the other has many exceptional differences. One is the discussion of how does a person learn: is he a visual, auditory or kinesthetic learner? A visual leaner needs written materials, exercises and graphics. An auditory learner has to hear it, repeat it and needs to have a discussion. A kinesthetic learner needs real life simulations, hands on demonstration and needs to see how the principle works. Visual learners and kinesthetic learners most likely would be more successful in online courses because of the atmosphere it provides. Auditory learners would need to have traditional classes which would provide the best learning opportunity for their learning style. There are cases that individuals do not know how they learn best; an assessment should be given in the situation. The......
