Thesis Statement: Attending classes online can be a very unique experience to the independent learner. Even though, it requires a great amount of discipline and self-control, it allows students who may not have the time to attend college on campus, an opportunity to earn their degree at their own pace.

1. Independent learners can learn at their own pace. * Some students learn better at their own pace by reading and executing the information they read, rather than being in a classroom setting. * Independent learners gain more esteem when completing their assignments and being able to monitor their grades.

2. Students with full-time jobs and families can attend college on their own time. * Online classes provide the opportunity to schedule school around household and work duties. * Mothers such as myself, may experience extreme stressors attending traditional on campus college, due to scheduling alone.

3. Technology provides easier access for people who are constantly on-the-go * Makes the learner excited when viewing school assignments in a graphic design * Being able to access lectures and assignments from technological devices makes attending school less boring.

Conclusion: Every learner is different, and everyone learns at their own pace. Attending college online may not be the best idea for people who struggle with attention and concentration issues. But for people who can thoroughly read, comprehend, and execute their ideas, online classes may be the answer to their…...

...English 101 Lincoln’s Challenge Everyone has certain moments in their lives that have a lasting impression. Some people get a new job, meet fascinating new people, or get married. The experience that made an impression, even changed my life was going to Lincoln’s Challenge Academy. This academy was one of many big changes in my life. The benefits of this academy will help me through the difficult trials of life that I will face in the years to come. Lincoln’s Challenge was a place for “troubled” teens to obtain a GED and get discipline. It was a military-based school in Rantoul, Illinois. Young adults from the ages of sixteen to eighteen would come there, voluntarily, to change their mischievous behavior. Last year I dropped out of MacArthur High School and enrolled in the academy. I was a junior when I left the high school, and I was truly scared out of my wits. What I had heard about Lincoln’s Challenge Academy, or LCA, were not too pleasant. I knew my past wasn’t the best, but from what I had heard from a few friends the other teens that were going to attend were going to be much worse. When I arrived at LCA in January, I was absolutely terrified. I didn’t want to leave the comfort of my home, parents, friends, or especially my bed! What made matters worse was that I would have to gone for six months without my phone! However, the promise of two three-day breaks in March and April and family visits every Sunday made the knot in my stomach shrink a little bit. When......

...in an educational environment rather than in their comfort area. Things that are obtained in a classroom like the competitiveness to beat one another, healthy interactions, difference in opinion, and just the feeling of accomplishment cannot be achieved through a computer screen. The department of education should not be funding the experimental online school. The experiment provides students to work from home with distractions, the lack of ambition, and it does not offer them with the right interactions that he or she will need. This would also be a bad idea in the sense of students cheating. Who would know if the student is actually taking the test or doing the courses by themselves or not having a the study guide and web site open in another tab on the computer during the test. The educational department should not provide funding for this experimental online school due to the fact that it 's easier for student to be distracted and procrastinate when they're at home rather than in a classroom. First, students will become more distracted because they're at home in an environment that may not be fit for a student to be taking online courses and can be doing whatever they want while they're supposed to be taking tests and doing the courses. Then, it's easier to procrastinate if there's no one to encourage them. They'll just keep putting it off thinking oh ill get it done tomorrow then tomorrow comes, and they put it off another day. The cycle just keeps repeating itself......

For some patients, the preoperative period may last for months, during which testing and other procedures may be done. For an emergency, such as an appendectomy, the preoperative period may last only a few hours. During the preoperative phase, preadmission testing is done to assess health history, family medical history, and any known allergies to medications. ...What is online therapy? People who receive therapy vary widely in their problems and their motivations to solve them. The most obvious candidates for therapy are individuals experiencing sudden and highly stressful situations such as a divorce or unemployment, people who feel overwhelmed by the crisis conditions in which they find themselves that they cannot manage on their own. The people typically feel quite vulnerable and tend to be open to therapy because they are motivated to alter their present intolerable mental states. Some people enter therapy somewhat as a surprise to themselves. Many people entering therapy have experienced long-term psychological distress and have had lengthy histories of maladjustment. They have had interpersonal problems, such as an inability to be comfortable with intimacy, or they may have felt as though susceptible to low moods that are difficult from them to dispel. Individuals with chronic unhappiness and inability to feel confident and secure may prompt them to seek outside help. Some people who enter therapy have problems that would be considered relatively normal. That is, they appear to have achieved success, have financial stability, have generally accepting and loving families, and have accomplished many of their life goals. They enter therapy not out of personal despair or impossible interpersonal involvements, but out of a sense that they have not lived up to their own expectations and realized their own potential. There are......

...The Experience Your arrival to the residence starts with you examining a house that is physically well-kept. A beige house with tan shutters, and landscaping throughout the yard that is reminiscent of a magazine cover. The sound of a bird’s chirping, and bumblebees buzzing in the summertime, makes you feel warm. You walk up to our home feeling a sense of welcoming. When you finally walk into our house, the experience begins. The captivating smell transports you into another dimension. My mother loves to cook, and the aroma of spices and vegetables simmering in a pot leaves a strong impression throughout the home. The sound of a cook hard at work distracts you with clanging, chopping, and shaking of her tools. The warmth of the air with these sweet aromatic smells makes you feel invited and happy to be there. Upon entering you will also meet our dogs. They are very pleased to greet you, but all guests must first be approved by man’s best friend. Their submissiveness is very playful, and it is always customary to give a scratch or pat on their head. Both dogs wag their tails in excitement and with their tongue hanging out of their mouth they pant from the affection. The house is bright and airy with photographs of memories hanging about the walls. Strategically placed, every picture has a purpose in its occupied space. Mirrors enlarge the room, thereby giving the illusion the room is quite spacious. The softness of the chairs makes you feel right at home when you......

...How do these articles impact your understanding, attitudes and feelings about learning in an online environment? How does this seem to fit with your most efficient and effective way of learning? What ways can you leverage the online technology and this method of learning to maximize what you take away from this program? An online learning environment is not a problem for me, in fact I spent majority of my junior and senior year off college taking online courses using the blackboard system. The system that we are currently using is a bit different for me, it’s a lot more detailed and has many more features than blackboard. For some people online learning is a breeze and others it’s a never ending obstacle . After digesting this information I feel that online classes are just as effective as traditional classes, solely because in online environments you are expected to gather various forms of data, research, and other forms of evidence to help better your understanding of the topics that are presented to you just as in a traditional classroom setting. Bring in circled part page 406 After reading these articles I gained a better understanding of networks, technologies, and various learning styles used in online environments. Based on prior research, the six antecedents of customer satisfaction – ease of use, design, speed, security, information content, and customer support service – are proposed, and the effects of experience on the relationships between these and customer satisfaction are analyzed using a structural multi-group (a high-experience group and a low-experience group) model. The results show that design, speed, security, information content, and customer support service have a significant influence on customer satisfaction in the high-experience group or the low-experience group, but ease of use does not have a significant influence on customer satisfaction in either of the groups. Also, the results relating to the influence of the level of customer experience reveal that the effects of design, security, speed, and information content on customer satisfaction were significantly higher in the highexperience group, whereas the effect of customer support service on customer satisfaction was significantly higher in the low-experience group. ...Differences Between Online Retail & Traditional Retail Businesses EinkaufswagenImage via Wikipedia Often times, it is easy to overlook the differences between selling online through a shopping cart and retail selling through a brick and mortar storefront. Online retail is different from selling through a store in many ways and you should become familiar with the differences so you can better understand the many benefits of selling online compared to selling through a physical storefront. The obvious differences are the way the products are displayed to customers and the way in which they enter your store to browse around. Main Differences Between Online Retail & Physical Storefronts Display: By shopping at a brick and mortar store the customers are able to physically touch and handle items they are interested in buying. Online retailers are forced to display items using only pictures, graphics and text based product descriptions. ...Valuing Life 10/3/2012 By: Lisa Graham-Jones Instructor: Professor Wright Or Life is precious and shaped by many different experiences along the way. What if you were unable to experience this thing we call life? If the hands could turn back time and your mother decided not to let you live, but instead destroy your life before being able to experience the world we know of today? Many bypass this thought process when considering abortion. Women instead think of themselves and their situation when debating the option of abortion. Life is valuable period. Regardless of whether there are good outcomes of abortion, or negative outcomes of abortion, I am against abortion. Regardless of what is going on in life, women know that the only way to not get pregnant is through the choice of abstinence, but they still choose to have sex. With this being a problem it makes abortion look really evil due to careless and selfish choices that women are making today. Abortion has been overthrown and battled in many courts with different cases and the procedure of abortion has granted because the right of the constitution protects the choices that women make with the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendment. The constitution protects the rights of women in many different ways including the choice of what women want to do with their bodies. These three amendments make abortion legal and create a bigger problem of diminishing this evil operation for the fact that abortion has been approved by......

...Experience Paper A visit to the Cloisters Museum The Creative Voice Experience. Practical contact. Observation of facts. We live in a “soft” world where the greater percentage of the arts are viewed through some type of electronic device with a screen and usually muddled with banners of advertisements or endorsements. We view static images on screens where texture and brush strokes could never be appreciated. We watch videos of classic Shakespearian plays devoid of the elements and senses of a live performance. True experience cannot be had remotely. Experience MUST be experienced! I decided to visit the Cloisters Museum and Gardens to reach outside my comfort zone and visit a place that I not only have never been to, but had also never heard of. The Cloisters is a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art that focuses on the art and architecture of medieval Europe. The museum is located in northern Manhattan and overlooks the Hudson River. That particular day was fairly warm with light rain. Upon entry into the museum my initial reaction was how cold and damp it was in comparison to the day. Because I had not been there before, I was initially most impressed with the structure more than the art itself. It is clear that people have gone to great lengths to recreate a structure that incorporates all of the elements of medieval times. I am by no means a historian and as a result I am usually stricken by something that appeals to me visually over its historical......

Residents (locals and migrants alike) should be more conscientious given the city’s state. Since this is the situation now, people might as well work on what is on hand rather than just sit and bewail the city’s gradual decay. ...Argumentative essay: Online education  A stronger thesis would be, “Online classes are a better choice than traditional classroom learning because they’re more flexible for students and teachers, they're less expensive and they let student’s works at their own pace.” Do you know online education? Online education is one of the ways to learn various subjects. We can take a lecture or hand in our assignments through the Internet. Therefore, people can learn what they want to learn whenever or wherever they want. In America, some colleges adopt this education. However, this new way to educate students is not prevailed in all countries because in some countries, they have enough educational system for students. Although some countries have enough colleges or educational system, the online education should be a part of educational system in all colleges for three reasons: cost, environmental and flexibility. First, online education can give a good influence in educational cost. To be sure, some people have enough money to go to college and online education is not necessary because there are many professors who teach various kinds of subjects and we can ask directly what we want to know without paying money. However, when we think about the poor people with some problems, we can understand the thought that online education should be a part of educational system. For example in Japan, according to the research by Tokyo University, about ten thousand students retired from their......
