Compare Shopping Online with Traditional Shopping

Online shopping has grown to new heights over the last decade and shows no signs down. The Internet has brought practically every store in the world to the fingertips of anyone with Internet access. Shopping online gives the user the opportunity to search for the product they want through endless avenues. Online shopping has grown so large that many companies are not investing in buildings and mall space, rather in online websites and web advertising. Through this paper I will discuss the reasons why shopping online is a better alternative to traditional shopping.

The first benefit of online shopping is the convenience. While others are out fighting traffic and waiting in lines, online shoppers are home relaxing. Online shoppers can go from store to store with a flick of a mouse, while traditional shoppers have a walk, drive or cant get to the stores they want. Online shoppers also benefit when it comes to comparison-shopping. Traditional shoppers have to put a lot of work into comparison-shopping.

They have to drive from place to place to find items and price and go onto the next place. This can be exhausting and stressful. The online shopper can do this from his or her couch. Online shoppers can search the planet for the product they are looking for, while traditional shoppers are limited to a small area. Saving money is always a concern when shopping.

Many people argue that shipping is the downfall of online shopping. The truth is that if you take all things into consideration shipping charges are minor. Often time the money you spend on gas, food, and time far outweighs the cost of shipping.

In conclusion I think that the comparison to online shopping versus traditional shopping is that...

Online Shopping vs. Traditional Shopping

...Online Shopping vs. Traditional Shopping It seems more and more people are shopping solely online, the accessibility and convenience is just too hard to deny. More and more formerly bustling malls are becoming deserted ghost towns. There are advantages and disadvantages to both types of shopping, it really depends on which aspects are more important to you and what works best for your lifestyle. I personally prefer shopping online for its convenience and the wider ability to price compare. There are still many things about traditional shopping that are appealing, however, such as being able to try items of clothing on and to see the item before purchasing. Shopping online can be very convenient, there’s no need to get in your car, drive to a store or the mall, park and walk around looking for what you need. Some people enjoy the act of shopping, and for them it can be more about the social aspect of it than what can be the tedious act of searching for something they need. You are able to do a wider variety of price comparisons by shopping online, with a few clicks of your computer mouse you can not only find what you’re looking for, you can compare prices from hundreds of stores around the globe. In traditional shopping you would have to search different stores to be able to do the price comparing you can do online. One of the downfalls of online shopping is the inability to possess the item or product immediately. If you need something to use or wear......

I usually shop in G-market as they offer a huge range or products from lifestyle to fashion clothes to accessories, and even travelling packages. I personally like to buy clothes there due to the wide varieties with clothing design from different countries with different style. If I were to buy a formal and an informal shirt together through traditional shopping, I would probably need to shop at 2 different outlets to get the shirts. However if I were to shop online, I could get the 2 shirts at one go with a just few clicks. When I shop online, it will just......

Online vs. Traditional Shopping

... This is just one example of how online shopping is better than traditional in store shopping. Online shopping offers more convenience, comparability, and cost effectiveness than traditional shopping. Shopping online is more convenient and relaxing than shopping in a store. Because when going to a physical store to go shopping a whole day must be planned out of it. First one must get ready because most people do not like to go out in public looking shabby and un-kept like they just got out of bed. Then one must decide which stores to go to in order to get everything on their shopping list. Next you have to get in the car and drive to the store and spend at least an hour searching for things on the shelves, and in the aisles, standing in line to pay for them, and getting everything out to the car and loaded up. Not to mention all of this must be accomplished with crowds of people and traffic slowing you down. Then it is on to the next place on the list to repeat the cycle over again. If one were shopping online all of his or her shopping could be done before the in-store shopper even gets out of the driveway. Because when shopping online all one needs to do is wake up, and turn on the computer. In doing so a whole world of shopping possibilities are at the shoppers fingertips, there are literally thousands of stores online to choose from. All one has to do is type what they are looking for into an online search engine, or any popular online store. Then when you have found......

Online vs Traditional Shopping

...05 - Comparison-Contrast Essay November 30, 2014 The Differences between Traditional and Online Shopping The differences between traditional shopping and online shopping are numerous and varied. Each has its' own advantages; each has its' disadvantages. A few points to consider are: comparison shopping, inspecting an item, returns, shipping, item availability, and convenience. Online shopping offers the ability to compare prices quickly and easily. By simply checking competing websites, you can find the best price in a matter of minutes. With traditional shopping, you would have to drive to different locations to check the prices. Then you would have to return to the store with the better price. Traditional shopping does offer the chance to inspect an item before purchasing it; clothing, for example. You could try the item on in the store to see if it fits correctly. In contrast, when shopping online you have to guess at the correct size, and wait for the item to be delivered to try it. Perhaps you do purchase an incorrect size, or the item has been damaged. With traditional shopping, you only have to drive back to the store where you bought the item, and return it for an instant refund. If you bought it online, however, you have to ship it back to the retailer, and then wait for the refund. You may also have to pay the return postage costs. If you choose traditional shopping, you are able to take your purchases home immediately; but you may have to......

Comparing Shopping Online with Traditional Shopping.

...Comparing shopping online with traditional shopping. Shopping has evolved though out the years starting with exchanging goods, then money was introduced and the modern world is now doing it via computers. The concept of online shopping can be extremely appealing but also very disappointing, were as traditional shopping might be somewhat taxing but more satisfactory. Comparing online shopping with traditional shopping can shed some light on the pro and cons of both. Shopping usually involves getting dress, drive to a mall, walk around for hours and getting back home exhausted. Some people love it, and some hate it. On the other hand, with online shopping one can simply sit back and decide on a product or item of interest and ‘click’ order. “If one were to stoop to word play, then ‘Window shopping’ has acquired a new meaning altogether” (Vadlamudi, 2013). Based on a survey done in April 2013 “75% of Consumers Prefer Customized In-Store Experiences Over Online Shopping”. Shopping in a mall can take up to two hours or even longer if coffee stops and lunches are included. Usually when people go to a shop they essentially know what they want to buy or have a good idea what they are looking for. The downside of this is that the store does not always have exactly what they want or the correct size and color is not available. But if that same person were shopping online, they would have a greater variety of stores available, which not necessarily is in the same country as they......

Tranditional vs Online Retailer

...TRANDITIONAL VS ONLINE RETAILER MGMT310-1205B-01 Pamela Kruse January 13, 2013 Abstract: As we all know the internet has created many ways for companies to do business online. In this paper I will discuss the differences between traditional and online retailers. I will also discuss what advice I would give a traditional retailer to switch to an online retail organization. Traditional Retailer is called a building that is of brick and mortar store. This means that the customer will walk or drive to the store to do their shopping. A good location for these stores would be around a shopping center; this is a foot traffic place. The retailer will also advertise to attract more customers in that area as well. A traditional retailer will have to pay rent, heat, light, and of course insurance bills. The retail store will also have to keep merchandise in the stores for the customers to buy; this will need space and storage to where they will not run out of merchandise. The retail store in order to get customers to come and keep coming must have a good store front. That means neat appearance along with good advertisement that will invite the customer to come shop. Online retailer can reach people all over the world, but you will need to set up a good ecommerce site so people find you. This can be done by making sure promoting the website through links like shopping directories, and social network sites. Online retailers have lower overhead costs than traditional retailer.......

Research Paper

...consumers are not comfortable about shopping online, including such as security, service, and familiarity. In order to combat these issues, e-businesses need to offer customer support and services that can make an online shopping experience more approachable and enjoyable. For example, security can be an issue when a customer is thinking about making the switch to online shopping. In a traditional brick and mortar store, a customer concerned about credit card fraud can hand over cash which can be much more secure than a credit card transaction. Unfortunately, cash is not an option when it comes to online shopping, but an e-business can run a secure site and/or offer secure and established monetary transfer services like PayPal. With PayPal, a customer can transfer money from the bank account and use it from their PayPal account same as cash. It is incredibly secure thanks to “industry-leading technology”, extensive firewalls, and firewalls that are “heavily guarded both physically and electronically” (How secure is the PayPal site?, 2011). Another issue a customer may have is the difference in service. Most customers are used to the instant gratification of going to a store, checking out, and being able to take their items home. There are other perks to shopping in-store as well, namely human interaction and help, and trying an item out before buying (Holden, Belew, Elad, & Rich, 2009). However, on the flip side, online shopping offers one on one service for......

Shopping Online vs in Store

...Online vs. In Store Clothing Shopping In today’s world, clothing shopping has become a way of life for most people. Searching for clothes has become common every day of the week. People shop on the weekends, at work, and even in the comfort of their own beds. In store and online shopping for clothes may seem similar; however, they have many aspects that differentiate the two. For years, the only way to shop for clothes was physically going to the store and purchasing the item in person. However, in recent years a new kind of shopping has boosted product sales by the billions. The internet provides a twenty-four hour, seven day a week shopping center available to anyone. Online shopping is a fast way to look for a specific item that fits a consumer’s wants or needs. Searching an online store eliminates the hassle of looking through an endless rack of clothes in attempt to find a certain item. The majority of online stores have an abundance of different sizes in clothing while in store they may only have one size that does not suit a person’s needs. Another benefit of online shopping is the pleasure of shopping from your own home and not having to drive to the store. Online shopping can be done anywhere that has an internet connection. This means no more waiting in long checkout lines that are filled with grumpy people or taking multiple circles around the parking lot in attempts to park. If someone is from a small town, they may not have the luxury shopping center that......
