Throughout the development of education, a popular choice has come into existence that seems to be a choice among many individuals seeking to advance their education. That choice is online schooling. The other choice millions of students choose is to go to a traditional college. There are some differences in the two types of schooling, yet they offer the same learning criteria. Students have to consider the pros and cons of each and decide which school setting is best for them. Whether pursuing an online or traditional education, students can be sure they are receiving the same education. Online schooling is when a student sits in front of a computer and is taught through internet interaction. The interaction is made through an online thread where students can ask questions to the professor and have conversations with other students. There are also some online schools that have lectures given by the Professors through live videos. You are able to ask the Professor questions through a live online chat. There might also be 1 or 2 classes where you might have to go to a traditional classroom, or do some hands on field work for your degree. A traditional setting classroom is when students go to a College or University where they sit in a classroom with other students, have face to face interactions, and learn with a Professor teaching at the head of the classroom. Both settings provide the same education the students are searching striving to achieve. Most students believed they would not get the best education if they chose to go to an online college. The reality is, there is no difference between getting an online education and getting an education in a traditional setting. Both settings offer the same education but in a different way. Most students chose to get their education in an online setting because they have more freedom range to get their school work…...

Today’s technological age provides choices for parents regarding the type of school that their children will attend. They have the choice of sending their children to traditional school or teaching them at home, commonly referred to as home schooling, which is often conducted by use of a personal computer in the home. Home schooling provides a more direct approach of educating today’s youth when compared to public schools. Alternatively, public school offers children a greater chance of enhancing their social development and skills. There are many advantages of parent’s home schooling their children. These advantages include individual bonding time with the children, security of knowing that their children are learning, and more access to monitoring their children’s academic progress. Another added benefit of schooling involves modification of the curriculum to accommodate each student’s ability. Within the home school curriculum, a parent has the freedom to filter out subjects that they do not want their children to learn. According to (Kunzman) there has been an increase of 74% in homeschool attendance between the years of 1999 to 2007. It was also noted that this growth is twelve times that of public school attendance. Some disadvantage of......

Online vs. Traditional Education

...Online vs. Traditional Education Have you ever had the opportunity to take online classes? Have you even heard of online classes? If you haven’t, you are missing out on a great opportunity. Online education is rapidly becoming a popular alternative to traditional education. It is offering more flexibility for students and providing individuals with better opportunities for postsecondary education. Even though traditional education has been the only form of education for hundreds of years, online education offers a new and improved style of learning. When people think of education, they think of a classroom filled with desks, paper, books, and other students. After all, this is how humans have been taught for generations. This is an example of traditional education. Traditional education is when students attend a school and are taught in a formal classroom setting. There is an instructor that teaches the class by giving demonstrations or by lecturing. It allows the students to have face-to-face interaction with the instructor or their fellow students. Traditional education has never been very flexible. There are scheduled times for class and working around that schedule can prove to be difficult. Often times, life events can conflict with the class schedule. This can cause students to miss class and fall behind in their work. While traditional education is not very flexible, online education is. Online education is the use of technology to share......

This was the only option because of the lack of technology that was available to the economy to do the online education. Today we are more advanced in technology and still growing in this category. Some may find that online schooling is for them, and some may find that a traditional school is the type of learning environment to help best achieve receiving a degree. Students can earn the same valuable degree from an online school as a traditional college or university. It depends on if the students are comfortable with a structured outline and the level of commitment it will take to complete online courses. Online students must also have good study habits as well as being self motivated if the student plans on graduating from an online college. Being an online student takes a lot of discipline because you do not have someone standing there telling you exactly how to do your work. An online student needs to be organized and able to complete tasks on a certain deadline without being reminded daily. Being a traditional class student could be a better route for someone who does not have much discipline outside of the classroom. While being in class, you have to get your work done in a certain time and you have that time to do it in class. You teacher and peers are in class with you if you ever get in a stump on an assignment and need to ask questions. Online vs. Traditional Schooling

...Online Vs. Traditional Schooling Sarah Ann Weinkertz COM/170 7/17/2014 Korijna Valenti There is a long standing debate whether online or traditional schooling is more effective. What people do not realize is that online and traditional schooling are actually quite similar once you look at the material, curriculum, and the instructors teaching the classes. The instructors for online and traditional classes teach the same curriculum, using different techniques to give the students the information that they need. Online and traditional classes do of course have their differences such as the environment the students are working in, the time they get to do everything they need to, the communication between the students with the teachers, and financial obligations. Online schools follow the same curriculum as traditional schools do, providing the students just as respectable an education as a traditional school's education. Communication between students and instructors tends to differ between online schooling and tradition schooling. When someone is attending school online they have to realize that the communication will be limited; the professor may not be online or available when the student is actually needing the help. This is similar to traditional school, varying in that connecting with an instructor is through online contact in comparison to the possibility of an in-person meeting that is typically available......

No doubt majority of students go to college directly after, but some end up waiting to go later on. Fortunately, there are other options available today for those who had to wait to go. There are many factors in determining whether the online route or the traditional way is better. Things like the cost of education, the academic performance of students, or the environment you wish to learn. Let’s dig a bit deeper to find out just what the facts will prove! The thing today that most people think about before making their decision about which way to go, is the environment that would best suite their current life situations. For instance, “students who freely choose online classes may have different characteristics, like they may be older, or have children, or are employed full time” (Dr. Stack 2015 Learning outcomes in an online vs traditional course pa.9). ...Stephanie Simmons Stacey Bybee English 111 20 November 2011 Online vs. Traditional Classes I like going to school to further my education, the only problem is the inconvenience. With three kids, a job, and life going to school to sit in seat can be difficult. If you had to choose between online and traditional in seat classes, that decision should be based on what’s better for you. The option for me is taking an online class. By taking online classes, you can learn the same material, but in a different way. Trying to find time to make more money, spend time with the family, and take classes to better my life eliminates the need to sit in class to learn. I have been able to experience online and traditional classes. I believe these two learning systems compare with class variety, learning skills and class diversity. When taking a class in seat or online, your teacher are providing goals within the class that need to be accomplished within a time period. Books are a necessity in order to learn and develop skills. The students learn in seat when the teacher lectures on a subject and the student is tested on their knowledge. The students learn the same online when the teacher assigns readings on the subject and is tested as well. For the ease of working adults most schools offers the same class online and in seat. They both have diversity within the classrooms. The students are able to interact with classmates with a different background and aspects of life. Most......
