What makes an organization world-class competitor?

To define an organization as a world class competitor they must first be world class. An organization is considered world class when they have successfully defined and implemented an organizational strategy that aligns the company with its product or service and industry. Customers and competition are also going to continue to look for the latest and greatest product or service. In order to keep up with the other world-class competitors a company will have to updated and evaluate their strategies on a regular basis. This includes a company going over the cost, quality, delivery, or product changes that may need to happen to meet the ever changing world and customer needs and wants.

Most companies look at a set of competencies that help establish a company’s competitive advantage. These competencies are Cost, Quality, Delivery, Flexibility and Support. Cost is the ability to provide a low cost product or service while maintaining a high quality. Quality products and service can be sold at a higher cost. In order to ensure an organization will see sales they must provide delivery of such products and services. This can determine a purchaser’s decision to buy again. An organization should be flexible as well and be able to mass produce or customize as needed or requested. The means of which they service the customer and request is the final competency that can resonate with a consumer. If a consumer receives support to their satisfaction then they will most likely remain a customer and refer the organization to others.
Competitiveness is the firm’s ability to grow and prosper among other companies in a given industry. An organization will be a world class competitor when they can effectively meet the wants and needs of customers relative to others who offer similar goods and services. To do this they must
