M1-explain how the Management of human physical, technological resources can improve the performance of Tesco.
Managing resources at Tesco
Physical-Buildings, Lorries and trucks, massive warehouses
Technological-Scanning checkouts, Captures stock control systems, on line shopping, club card, Marketing
Human-Recruitment, Training, motivation, staff appraisal.
Physical-improvements on the physical management can improve the performance of Tesco as if they have bigger building in means that they have a larger space capacity which will enable them to make bigger stores around the world, if they have a bigger building then it will also allow them to put a variety of products in store and not just limited stock, if they had a smaller buildings then they would not be able to fit ass many products inside as they are able to do so now, there wouldn’t be any space for there large car park that almost every Tesco store has this very moment in time.
Having Lorries and trucks can majorly improve performance at Tesco because having those facilities available there for them to use is a great help, lorries can carry a huge amount of stock from one store to another or from the warehouses back to Tesco stores, this would help save a lot of time in comparison to if they never had any lorries or trucks to help deliver their goods because then they would need to have a number of vans to carry their products back and forth, this would waste allot of petrol and allot of money, so having lorries and trucks would benefit them immensely.
Massive warehouses- having larger warehouses enables Tesco to keep their products safe…...

Physical resources are resources that are available to business organisations in the form of buildings and other machineries needed for the day to day running of the organistaion Building and facilities; * all businesses need premises which they operate from, this can range from someone’s front room, or tower blocks all over the world, buildings play an important role in the image of a business and can influence different types of customers, many financial institutions such as Lloyds TSB and HSBC have very famous buildings as their headquarters and are still located in central London near the stock exchange so that they can maintain links with clients in person as well as online * for some businesses, the attractiveness of the building is not important as the inside because customers are never expected to see the building itself or expected to see what goes on there, for example Tesco PLC will have huge warehouses in industrial estates which do not necessarily look good but are well organised on the inside, public are not allowed into these premises as they are there to maintain efficiency and not to engage in direct selling * the location of the building is important when a business considers its distribution network, if a business locates nearer to a place which is very...

...Describe the recruitment documentations used by McDonalds The business that I’m studying is McDonalds. McDonalds is the world largest fast food restaurant, serving around 64 million on a daily day to day basis. The company was founded on May 15th 1940 by Richard and Maurice McDonald. McDonalds are mainly known for their hamburgers, they also sell chicken, French fries, dessert, soft drinks and cheeseburgers. They have recently expanded their menu by having healthy options such as salads, wraps and fruit. In this documentation I will be reviewing the recruitment documentation. The definitions of applications form; is when you fill in information about yourself on a piece paper or online, for a certain job. The company McDonald’s uses this because, it is easier to apply online rather than use a paper application form. The definitions of Person specification; is a list of attributes needed by the person to perform a job, such as personality type or experience. On the McDonalds website this can be found under ‘the requirements’ this show what the company wants in a potential employees to start working for McDonalds. We used skills such as deadlines and schedules so we had to be award of the amount of time we spend on each task as a group. Communication skills are a very important way to communicate within a group. Within our group we have done many meetings in a classroom a total of 10. In these meetings we spoke about how far everyone has got on their task they were given, because all tasks were broken up into groups. Problem solving is important because it is very likely for anything to go wrong so we will need a solution or a back up plan. For example while we were doing the assemblies we had a problem of the video not playing in both halls at the same time. That’s why on the Friday 8th February 2013 we made sure we had another video for the year 11. Negotiating is any activity that influences another person. We as a group had to negotiate with Mrs Jarvis to give us prices on printing, and how much we needed to print for the event. For instance we had a variety of prices for the posters, such as different types of paper and different quality of colour printing. Recourse management is the way you use recourses such as financial, human skills, production, IT etc. It is important to...
