After taking all of the career readiness assignments I was able to learn that I am not quite ready to approach my job related field. I was able to find out that from now till I graduate college I should not only be taking classes for my career, but also trying to activities that might relate to my job, and even trying to talk to other that are in the same study field as me. After seeing my score for self-assessment I was told since I scored so high I am very involved in examining what it is I like to do, my values, personality, and skills. I was also told I need to stay active and involved because this is the most important in career planning. My career exploration had a medium score, which means I am moderately involved in this area. I need to increase my involvement so that away it will help narrow down my option and map out my career goals. My career planning satisfaction also had a medium score suggesting I may be experiencing problems with my career planning. I am not sure if this is true or not, because before taking any of theses test I could tell you what it is I want to do after I graduate college and why I chose that career field. I felt as those there was a lot of questions that didn’t apply to me therefore, I picked the box that said does not relate to me. I also felt as though if there were more questions for me I would have gotten lot better scores on some of these topics.
After taking the work interest assessment in self-assessment category I was very please with the outcome. I had my work interest in the top jobs for me, which I was very excited about. It reassured me that what I like to do I possibly what I can keep doing throughout my job. I was able to tell that I am a very social person, which is true. I tend to be highly verbal, express myself well, and get along well in groups as well. I was also told that people in this category often describe themselves as cooperative, friendly, and understanding. I have to say what I really liked to hear the best was getting told these people generally enjoy teaching, caring for others, volunteering, mediating disputes, meeting new people, and working in groups. After reading that I thought was just from a few questions I answered these people nailed me exactly. My conventional and enterprising scores were the exact same. People in the conventional category prefer activities selling and promoting and enjoy influencing others and being in a leadership position. These people are often like competitive activities and are self-confident, talkative, and energetic. I have to agree most of this is true as well, but it wasn’t until I got to the last sentence that I realized why this score was quite lower then the other one. I am still very impressed with how these test read me very well. My investigating and realistic scores were very low. I expected the investigative (thinker) one to be lower then the realistic (the doers), because I am not a thinker at all and I love working with objects and things where I can use my hands. My artistic scores was a straight zero, totally me. I am no were near creative, I always fail at trying to make something up and being creative and using my imagination.
