Describe in your own words how IBM SOA has helped Pacorini gain competitive advantage.

Through IBM SOA, Pacorini is able to advance from the connected phase to the collaboration phase of the standardization of IT. Since this is a newer phase, Pacorini is more able to gain competitive advantage. SOA allows a higher level of simplicity for learning how to better maintain integration through standards and business process execution language. This is a step up from traditional integration. SOA also enables the development of complex applications through a top-down approach. Ready-made parts are reusable and are simple for use and maintenance because if the built-in integration.

Initially, Pacorini’s internal business processes were not integrated. Business process management (BPM) performs better with SOA. This means that Pacorini is able to identify business processes in order to divide business logic from the application. This is crucial for successful investments in IT. ... The establishment and the development of the Pacorini Group is closely related to the history of the Pacorini family. The company was founded in Trieste in 1933 by Bruno Pacorini, in order to meet the needs of 'colonial' goods' traders, dealing with coffee, spices, dried and citrus fruits.
