There are so many types of paints out there it can be tough to choose, even white is not as simple a color as you would think there are different shades and different sheens. There are two sheens that lie between matte and glossy and they are eggshell and satin sheens. To understand the difference between the two you need yo know where they lie on the glossiness scale. Why is glossiness important? The reason is that glossy paints are generally more washable and durable than flat or matte paint sheens. Eggshell paints have more sheen and are more durable than matte paints however eggshell paints are less glossy and less durable and moisture resistant than satin sheens. Let's look at these paint finishes more closely to determine where they are best suited for application. …show more content…
From a distance, it looks like a matte finish but as you get up close to it you will notice that it has a subtle shine to it. It is perfect for walls with small imperfections and will hide irregularities on your living room, dining room and bedroom walls. It is suitable for areas that are not subjected to moisture and dirty fingerprint smudges. It shouldn't be used on walls that require frequent washing like kitchen and bathroom wall.

A satin paint finish is shinier but not as shiny as gloss paint. It is also not as moisture resistant as gloss or semigloss paint but it fares better than eggshell and matt finishes. It is all round paint that can be used on more surfaces than just walls. For instance, it can be used to embellish doors or window ledges as well as to paint cabinets. It is durable and easy to wash which makes it the ideal paint to use on kitchen, bathrooms and children's bedroom walls. The problem with satin paint is that it does not hide imperfections

...S E C O N D E D I T I O N POWER MARKETING, SELLING, and PRICING A Business Guide for Wedding and Portrait Photographers Amherst Media ® PUBLISHER OF PHOTOGRAPHY BOOKS Mitche Graf Dedication I would like to dedicate this book to one of the greatest men I have ever met, Pat Wright. Although he is no longer with us, he left behind a legacy that will not soon be forgotten. As my stepfather, my supporter, and my friend, he showed me the value of not only a hard days’ work, but also the importance of taking time to enjoy the precious moments life has to offer. By example, he taught me to take my work seriously, but to take myself lightly. His playful spirit will forever be an integral part of my daily life, and his gentle approach to loving others will always help guide me in each of my relationships. I am honored to have known such a tender and loving man. Copyright © 2009 by Mitche Graf. All rights reserved. Published by: Amherst Media, Inc. P.O. ...Lobschat, L., Zinnbauer, M. A., Pallas, F., & Joachimsthaler, E. (2013). Why Social Currency Becomes a Key Driver of a Firm's Brand Equity – Insights from the Automotive Industry. Long Range Planning, 46(PLS applications in strategic management: Partial Least Squares modeling in strategy research), 125-148. doi:10.1016/j.lrp.2012.11.004 Introduction In the past decade, managers have endeavored to build brands by creating a strong identity and conveying this identity through consistently managing relevant touch points with customers (e.g., Aaker and Joachimsthaler, 2000; Keller and Lehmann, 2003). To this end, managers are striving to better understand consumer behavior and positively influence consumers' brand perceptions through marketing initiatives (e.g., Keller, 1993). However, the direction of influence on a brand's perception and image has become increasingly bilateral. Today, consumers are no longer simply “receivers” of company- and brand-related information. Instead, they operate as “senders” of this information, e.g., by giving brand recommendations, by expressing criticism, or by sharing information with others (Hennig-Thurau et al., 2010). For this reason, managers no longer have exclusive control over information circulating about a company or brand. Consumers therefore play an important role in forming a company's or brand's perception and value in the marketplace (Keller, 2007). Exchange of information about companies and brands between consumers is not...

...FROM THE AUTHOR OF THE BESTSELLING BIOGRAPHIES OF BENJAMIN FRANKLIN AND ALBERT EINSTEIN, THIS IS THE EXCLUSIVE BIOGRAPHY OF STEVE JOBS. Based on more than forty interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing. At a time when America is seeking ways to sustain its innovative edge, Jobs stands as the ultimate icon of inventiveness and applied imagination. He knew that the best way to create value in the twenty-first century was to connect creativity with technology. He built a company where leaps of the imagination were combined with remarkable feats of engineering. Although Jobs cooperated with this book, he asked for no control over what was written nor even the right to read it before it was published. He put nothing offlimits. He encouraged the people he knew to speak honestly. And Jobs speaks candidly, sometimes brutally so, about the people he worked with and competed against. His friends, foes, and colleagues provide an unvarnished view of the passions, perfectionism, obsessions, artistry, devilry, and compulsion for control that shaped his approach to business and...
