...what the company’s goals will be is important to choosing the right structure. Working at the establishment Village Inn I have grown fond to their structure of business which is a flat or also can be called simple organizational structure. This type of structure is designed to avoid beau racy and focus more on management and base line employees. They do this by being open to find resolutions to problems faster. Village Inn uses the simple organizational structure because it is a small business and only a few number of employees work at the company therefor it is more manageable for upper management to keep a close eye on the evaluation of the business. The second organization that I will be comparing is IHOP, the international house of pancakes. I personally have worked at both and have been able to evaluate what makes them so different yet so similar. To talk about IHOP first since it was the first restaurant that I worked for. Working there for six years really gave me an inside of a customer service company. Then moving to Village Inn I quickly realized that, that particular company had a really good idea of how to run a successful business. Grant it that IHOP is very successful also, what the difference was, what was their goal and how were they trying to achieve it. At both restaurants they actually sell very similar dishes that include breakfast, lunch and dinner, and some dishes were even named the same. Both of the restaurants have similar desert options that they try...

...ESSAY Slew My absence here for the past days, unlike the not a few times I went on a hiatus before, was not because of some complications I’ve gotten myself entangled into but because I found it more and more difficult to secure even a mere thirty minutes to reflect and write my thoughts down. My weekdays are jam-packed with responsibilities at work and my studies; my Saturdays, woefully, are barely spared. Fortunately, however, because of some levels of criminality in me that I have successfully kept in latency, in between breaks (or classes), I’d clandestinely let go of my unexpressed resentment, happiness, frustrations, ennui, and sadness on pieces of papers that I always keep. I think that by writing them down I am purging myself of excess emotions that do nothing but keep me from accomplishing my tasks, or violence that I would, in very rare cases, manifest, although not completely because I am a good citizen of the state. Silence, in addition to rest, has also become impossibly elusive; in fact, it is beginning to have that illicit feeling to it whenever I get hold of it in especially rare and fleeting cases, such as when I am sitting on a toilet bowl or when I am beginning to sleep and having REM. Either the metro drowns me in ceaseless, diaphanous noise, or I hear the monotonous sound of my voice, which can be very irritating at times, but quite often, as among narcissists of my kind, I’d find myself listening to its cadence, quality, and idiosyncrasy with furtive...

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and then pour in the egg mixture, all at once, and stir (with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon) just until combined. The batter should have some small lumps. (Do not over mix the batter or the pancakes will be tough.)Heat a frying pan or griddle over medium high heat until a few sprinkles of water dropped on the pan or griddle splatter.  Adjust the temperature as needed. Malunggay as Pancakes

...Related Literature and Studies A. Related Literature Pancakes are ancient food. The word pancakes appears in print as early as 1430. Pancakes may have been around since Neolithic humans domesticated einkorn wheat, ground it into flour mixed with bird’s egg and goat’s milk and poured the batter on a heated rock. It happened before there were pans and long before ovens. The ancient cooks dropped a little gruel on a hot rock of campfire, resulting in thin cakes that were tastier than plain gruel or cakes cooked directly in the embers of the fire. Perhaps because of this ancient lineage, pancakes are associated with rituals in many countries – Shrove Tuesday, Candlemas, and Chanukah to name a few. From these rudimentary beginnings sprang a vast array of bread and pancakes, but the two were originally the same. The ancient Greeks used griddles to cook a flat loaf drizzled with honey called ‘kreion’ and cakes of soft cheese. The Romans as revealed in the cookbook by Apicius made dishes similar to modern pancakes. Medieval pancakes, frequently made form barley or rye and lacking leavening, were relatively heavy affairs. They were quite different from contemporary fluffy or tender versions. Pancake Day is another name for Shrive Tuesday, from the custom of eating pancakes on this day, still generally observed. Shrive is an old Saxon word, of which shrove is a corruption and signifies confession. The custom of dining on pancakes on Shrove Tuesday is Roman Catholic origin that on the...

Pancakes and Syrup

...Pancakes & Syrup Facts Maple Corporation is a manufacturer of breakfast products.  Maple sells its products to wholesale distributors and directly to large retail chains.  Maple's Real Maple brand table syrup is very popular due to its high content of real maple syrup.  To boost sales of its pancake batter mix, Maple Corporation conditions the sale of its table syrup on the buyer's agreement to buy Maple's pancake mix. To get its customers to cooperate with this arrangement, Maple gives an extra 5% trade discount for each syrup/mix transaction.  The pancake batter mix is not as popular as the syrup, causing retailers to experience oversupplies of mix.  To induce customers to buy the oversupply, retailers are having to offer deep discounts on the mix. Legal Reasoning: What type of arrangement is this?  What law applies?  What are the elements of the law?   Is the Maple Corporation arrangement legal in your opinion?  Why? This is an example of a Tying Arrangement – an agreement between a buyer and a seller under which the buyer of a specific product or service is obligated to purchase additional products or services from the seller. The antitrust law applies in this situation, due to the fact that the law restricts business practices that are considered to be monopolistic or which restrain interstate commerce. This law consists of two acts – the Sherman Act, and the Clayton Act. The Sherman Act declares illegal every contract, combination or conspiracy in restraint...
