Food Intake – 3 Days

The three day food intake information that was recorded in I Profile was completed to provide information on the types of food that were being eaten, nutritional values and to understand the importance of healthier eating behaviors.

Recorded Intake of Protein, Carbohydrates, and Lipids

According to the spreadsheet of foods that were recorded in the three day intake I Profile, many of the foods listed provided an overlap of protein, carbohydrates and lipids. The foods recorded that provided the majority intake of protein were Eggs, Chicken, Turkey ham, Cheese, Breakfast Sausage. (University of Phoenix, 2012). Next, the foods that provided the majority of carbohydrates were: Croissant, Bagel and Pasta Broccoli Alfredo, Fries. (University of Phoenix, 2012). Lastly, the foods that provided the majority of lipids or fats were: was Butter, BBQ chips, mayo, fries, oils, BBQ Sauce and breakfast sausages. (University of Phoenix, 2012).
The recommended dietary reference (DRI) intake provided by I Profile for protein were 67 – 235g, carbohydrate were 302 – 436g, and lipids were 29.8g. Comparing the DRI figures and the food consumption during the three day food examination, protein was 45g, carbohydrate was 95g, and lipids were 20.9g (University of Phoenix, 2012). Therefore, according to the comparison protein intake was just within the recommended range or below, carbohydrates and lipids are below the recommended range. Since the recorded information showed that protein, carbohydrates and lipids were just within range or not at all, adding foods such as nuts, fish and vegetables might assist in achieving the recommended ranges and support the balancing of other nutrients.

The protein consumed throughout the examination was complete since the protein provided the nine essential amino acids that...

... “Ms. Mason. Ms. Mason. Open the door please.” I knew that little voice, Christine Collins the girl next door I watch. Tears rolling down her face, “Please it’s my mommy…help her.” Christine’s mother was lying on the living room floor. “Mrs. Collins? Can you hear me? It’s Beth.” I glanced at Christine whose head was berried in her hands. How do I tell an eight-year-old girl her mother wasn’t breathing? I pulled her next to me, “Sweetie” before I could talk she spoke, “Is she asleep like my daddy, Ms. Mason?” I have forgot that her father passed away less than two months ago. I just nodded, “Can I come with you?” kissing her head, “Of course you can. I can’t leave you here alone. Go get some things together.” I had no way of calling 9-1-1 so I laid a cover over her. Christine came out of her room with a book bag and a stuffed teddy bear. We went back over to my house. “Ms. mason?” I stopped her, “Christine I am only 18 you don’t have to talk to me like you do my mother honey. You can call me Beth.” She smiled, “Okay. Um Beth where is your mommy?” We got in my small two door car that looks like it could fall apart any second. It was hard to get down our street, cars where just in the middle of the road. I threw a jacket over Christine’s face. I didn’t want to see bloody people on the ground or leaning half way out of their car doors. What in the world has happened? The police stations was the exact same. Dead people were all around. I...

Shakespere Was Not for an Age but for All Time

...``Shakespeare Was Not OF An Age But For All Time`` I agree with the statement ``Shakespeare was not for an age but for all time. `` The words of praise probably the most famous ever written about Shakespeare , were penned by Shakespeare`s good friend and follow writer `Ben Johnson`. For the poet and playwright generally considered the greatest ever is also one of the least known of all literary figures. And his works were indeed created for the popular entertainment of his day with little thought to their immortality. Shakespeare did not take any steps to preserve his writings past their immediate use. (Fortunately his friends did.) With all the academic study of Shakespeare and the trappings of fine culture that have been wrapped around productions of his dramas over the centuries, we often forget what a rollicking, bawdy and entertaining spectacle his plays presented to their original audience — and still can to a modern audience, in the right hands. The timelessness of Shakespeare's themes continue to keep his plays fresh. He dramatized basic issues: love, marriage, familial relationships, gender roles, race, age, class, humor, illness, deception, betrayal, evil, revenge, murder, and death. The essential question that Shakespeare explored in his plays is, "what does it mean to be a human being?" The genius of Shakespeare is that he manged to show us ourselves in every conceivable light. It really doesn't matter when the plays were written since they are about the...

...I do think that by doing so it looses a lot of its original meaning. I believe that literature can be interpreted in to many different meanings and ways that other people don't see. To one person Shakespeare can be a legendary writer and to anot her person he can be some idiot that wrote a lot of garbage.
After reading this section, I find it interesting that Shakespeare can be interpreted in several various ways. I have seen a few different productions of Shakespeare plays and I can understand the different ways that people have perceived the various plays. Personally, I believe that the difference between a “more faithful” versus a “more free” adaptation of a Shakespearean play is that a show that is “more faithful” tends to follow the time frame and setting that the play was placed in, whereas a “more free” adaptation can change to different time frames and have different surroundings than the play was actually placed in. With a more “faithful” adaptation of Shakespeare we learn more about the history behind the play and what it truly is about. Unfortunately, with a more “freer” adaptation we can lose the history behind the play because the context of the play can change based on the decisions of how the play was interpreted.

In a faithful version of a play, the language, setting, costumes, and all other major aspects remain as the author originally wrote them; a free adaptation may change one or more of these elements. A more faithful adaptation has the advantage of...

Individual Journal Reflecting on Group Experienc

...AFIN818 ASSIGNMENT PART3 Individual Journal Reflecting On Group Experience. 1. Describe We have a lot of differences in choosing the research model and the data because each of us has our own understanding and opinion about this assignment. Our resources are different and limited so we cannot reach an agreement at the beginning. 2. Analysis The reason of the difficulty is that some parts of the assignment need the data on some websites like ASX and others come from the financial statement. That means the resources of each part is very different and limited. Using limited resources to do research is difficult and challenging. But this is a good opportunity to improve our academic ability. And also in order to improve the integrity and rationality of the whole assignment, we must consider our teammates as far as possible, such as using the same data range. Besides, there is a very important point in the whole assignment. Sometimes one person finishes his part and calculates a ratio as a result. It seems that he has done his part. In fact, the ratio is very important or the key point in the teammates’ part, so he must take the rationality of the result in consideration, or it will create a lot troubles for the teammates. 3. Evaluation A group assignment is different from the individual assignment. Although the distribution of the sections seems to reduce the burden of everyone, it is necessary to spend more time and effort on the discussion, compromise...

System Thinking

...▪ Description [pic] ▪ Executive Summary ▪ Content Page ▪ Introduction The commercial aircraft engine consists of 3 major modules namely the Fan, Core and the Low Pressure Turbine (LPT). Each module will then be split into sub modules before it is stripped into individual parts. The engine is made up of thousands of parts put together and a typical shop visit (input, repair/upgrade, assembly, testing) will take approximately 60 days to complete. The current system of achieving the 60 days target is done by dividing the resources into 4 different sections. Each section will be in-charge of each module’s strip and assembly. Upon completion an additional team will put together all 3 major modules together before it is sent to the Test Cell for an engine run. The objective of this paper is to look into how the process of engine may be streamlined to reduce the overall turn around time (TAT). Some concepts and models adapted from an article “10 effective performance tools for 21st century managers” by Prof KC Chan (Reference 1) and the “Stage Gate System” by Robert R Cooper (Reference 2) will be incorporated to illustrate how to create an efficient system for the engine shop. The goal is to achieve at least 15% reduction in the TAT per engine. With a typical input of 100 engines per year, the target savings in number of labour days is approximately 900 days. Using the labour days multiplied by the......

Calveta

...Calveta Dining Services, Inc. Jinu JosephPA1115 | Abstract Calveta Dining Services, Inc. was a $2 billion, privately held firm that provided food services to almost 1000 senior living facilities (SLF’s) in the United States. Antonio Calveta, the founder of Calveta Dining retired in 2007 after 35 years of leadership and he named his eldest son Frank as the new CEO and told him to double the company’s revenues within a space of 5 years. The dilemma that Frank was facing was that even after 2 years into this job of his he did not have any credible strategies to fulfill his father’s promise or to attain aggressive growth as his father wanted. Calveta Dining Services owed its success to Antonio Calveta’s passion for food, traditional family values and the customized services they offered to the SLF residents. Frank was named CEO of the company over his other siblings including his sister Jennifer Calveta who was more suited for the job, now Frank was left with the option of expanding their business by acquiring Great South West Dining (GSD) or to enter into the hospital segment and diversify their business and at least try and come close to meeting his promise to his father. Analysis The United States Census Bureau’s survey showed that only 25% of the total SLF’s in USA had contracted to food services, this survey alone shows that there is a great potential for growth in the SLF’s segment and therefore it would have been meaningful for Frank to buy Great South West......

Comparative Response Strategies

...competition between two companies. The matrix has three parameters namely Price, Quality and Advertisement. These three parameters give a 3x3 matrix which give us nine different action-response parameters. The matrix can be drawn as follows: COMPANY B(Response) | COMPANY A(Action) | | | Price | Quality | Advertising | | Price | Cp,p | Cq,p | | | | | | Ca,p | | | | | | | Quality | Cp,q | Cq,q | Ca,q | | Advertising | Cp,a | Cq,a | Ca,a | Table1. Comparative Response matrix Therefore all the nine parameters mentioned in the table signify the responses taken by company B against the actions taken by company A. We can further discuss each parameter separately using examples from the industry in detail. 1. Cpp : The Cpp determines that the company B has responded to company A’s action with the same tool. We may witness this more often in the sectors with larger consumer base where the number of consumers is significantly high. The tool here that is used to combat the action of the company A is price. In this strategy, Company B may respond in either way to the action of company A. Suppose Company A...

Career Plan Reflection

...Career Plan Reflection BCOM/275 3 November 2014 Bruce McEwan, Ph.D. Career Plan Reflection I found the Career Plan Building Activity to be both helpful and trivial. There were 4 segments in this survey tool and I noticed dead accurate results on the first two but the remaining two seemed illogical and contradictory. The Career Interests Profiler segment results showed I would excel in any technical field to include engineering, law and technical sales. I could definitely understand the results and the questions in the survey seemed to be logical and presented in a way to which I wasn’t forced to contradict myself as I would see in a later segment. The Competencies segment was also logical and I would agree with the findings. It showed strengths in the areas of taking initiative, coping with pressure, applying expertise, writing, researching and presenting. I do hold myself to a high standard in all of those categories and already consider those some of my strengths. Under the Work Culture Preference section I found the questions to be trivial and the restrictions on how the answers were to be submitted forced me to directly contradict previous answers. There were a great number of questions repeated but due to the compound questions and the format in which they were presented I found myself frustrated and unable to accurately answer. An example is similar to having the user choose their single favorite and single least favorite among three choices: dogs,......

Term Paper for Marketing

...Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning   Segmentation, targeting, and positioning together comprise a three stage process.  We first (1) determine which kinds of customers exist, then (2) select which ones we are best off trying to serve and, finally, (3) implement our segmentation by optimizing our products/services for that segment andcommunicating that we have made the choice to distinguish ourselves that way. Segmentation involves finding out what kinds of consumers with different needs exist.  In the auto market, for example, some consumers demand speed and performance, while others are much more concerned about roominess and safety.  In general, it holds true that “You can’t be all things to all people,” and experience has demonstrated that firms that specialize in meeting the needs of one group of consumers over another tend to be more profitable. Generically, there are three approaches to marketing.  In the undifferentiatedstrategy, all consumers are treated as the same, with firms not making any specific efforts to satisfy particular groups.  This may work when the product is a standard one where one competitor really can’t offer much that another one can’t.  Usually, this is the case only for commodities.  In the concentratedstrategy, one firm chooses to focus on one of several segments that exist while leaving other segments to competitors.  For example, Southwest Airlines focuses on price sensitive consumers who will forego meals and assigned seating for low......
