Turtle Beach X12 Gaming Headset
By Bryan Bennett

I have had the privilege to recently buy a Turtle Beach X12 (wired) Gaming headset. I thoroughly enjoy this purchase, because it is absolutely phenomenal. As an avid gamer, headsets make the games more enjoyable. I enjoy playing a lot of First Person Shooter (FPS) games, such as Call of Duty, the older Halo series, and Battlefield. One asks why I spend so much on a gaming headset, well; I will let you know. The Turtle Beach headset was a top priority on my list of gaming necessities, mainly because the sound quality is so superior to the basic headset that comes with the console of choice (Xbox, Playstation). When I’m playing a serious session of FPS games, it is an absolute given that you need to hear everything that is in the surroundings. The basic headset doesn’t let you hear everything, it mainly just lets you talk to other teammates and trash talk your opponents. This headset lets you hear the environment of the game, you can easily hear someone creeping around a corner to flank you or hear someone shooting at you with a silencer. The sound quality is just a bit of what the X12 Gaming headset has to offer. The price is a great deal for the quality of a headset. This particular headset goes for $59.95 (plus tax) at my local Best Buy store. It may seem pricey, but the warranty option that comes with the headset is worth it alone. I opted for the warranty with was an additional $10 and if anything happens to the headset up to 2 years, you can go to any Best Buy and get a new one, right off the shelves. I believe it’s a price considering the basic headset sell for ~$30, and it has no sound quality boosts. All-in-all, I believe that the best headset an avid gamer can buy is the Turtle Beach line of headsets. The wired and wireless headsets are the top of the line, and reasonably priced for the quality of the headsets. I believe it is a gamers dream to have one of these babies connected to their controller and “own newbies”. I know whenever this headset goes down, I will be getting another Turtle Beach Gaming Headset.

Why Peer Review Is Important

...On the first day of the class when Mrs. Shannon said peer review makes people very vulnerable to the words they get from the peers. I thought she had psychic power to read minds. Ever since I took a regular English class and had first peer review I felt guilty, because I wasn’t capable enough to provide advice or find their mistakes. I felt I was the only one getting helped and I was afraid they might judge me by my writing. This made my habit of revising the essay fewer time and not asking for help. Eventually making me avoid writing. For the past month, I have learn how important the peer review is, but it did not change me to like the writing. From this English comp. 1 I have learned that peer review and revision is essential to produce...

The Obstacles of Science

...is crucial for every part of our lives. While we are enjoying or studying, we use returns of science. In short, it is indispensable for our society. In spite of its enormous importance, most people do not know what science is and what its problems are. Michael Shermer’s definition for science is “Science is not affirmation of a set of beliefs, but a process of inquiry aimed at building a testable body of knowledge constantly open to rejection or confirmation” (Kida, 2006, p.72). This definition has some important points. Science is a process and it does not dictate truth. It is open to rejection. The process of looking for truth consists of experiments, peer review and publication. However, these steps are not perfect. They have some problems. Experimental problems such as loose controls and unexpected results, lack of peer review and wrong publications of media are the biggest obstacles for science because they can mislead people. Firstly, one of the obstacles for science is experimental issues. Doing an experiment is a very important part of the scientific process. It is almost the only way to prove and legitimate our truths, also experiments are the keystone for science. However, conditions can affect our results. Loose control is one of the problems of this step. During an experiment, all of variables must be under control except one to understand which variables affect which results. ”Placebo effect” is an important term about this topic. Definition of Kida for this term is...

...Guidelines for Submitting Papers Papers and articles in Library and Information Studies generally follow the social sciences paradigm. Most papers follow a format like the one outlined here. In graduate school, term-papers are usually about ten pages in length, and should be "publishable" with only minor grammatical changes. Grammar counts. Spelling matters. Do not rely upon automated spelling checkers. It often helps to have a colleague proof read your work. Identification Provide the name of the article, your name and contact information (e.g. your UB Email address). If the paper is for a class, provide the class name and number, the semester and year, and the name of the instructor. Check the SI Web site to make sure you have listed them correctly. You may not present the same essay in two different UB courses without the prior consent of both instructors. If you are writing for a journal, you may not submit the same manuscript to two different publishers at once. However, it is common practice to turn a conference presentation into a journal article. If you do that, be sure to mention that the current paper was previously presented in a modified form, and provide the details. If the paper was made possible by a grant, or with the help of some entity, provide the details. Abstract and Keywords (Required only if you are submitting a manuscript for publication). An abstract is a one or two paragraph summary of the article. A few keywords, (or key phrases), should be provided...

Case Set Faq

...Case Set Instructions Which cases do I complete, and when is each case set due? See the syllabus. How do I prepare the cases? Start with a cover page that provides class information (ACCT 4400, etc.) and the names of all team members. The cover page should also include the specific cases or parts of cases completed by each team member along with any reviewing responsibilities. The answers to the three cases in each case set must follow the order listed in the syllabus. All materials must be typed double-space using Times New Roman, 12-point font with 1 inch margins on all sides. There are exceptions to this rule: * Tables produced in Excel used as audit work papers and/or to show calculations do not have to be double-spaced. These tables must be copied and pasted into your write-up at the appropriate locations. * Table notes can be in 10-point font and do not need to be double-spaced. For an example, see Case Assignment 2-3. References are important so that a writer does not plagiarize (pass another person’s thoughts or words as her/his own). All references must be cited in the text and included in a reference list at the end of each case. Examples include the AICPA Code of Conduct, Auditing Standards, SEC statements, practitioner journals, web sites, and the textbook. You do not need to reference class notes or your own thoughts. To format references, use any of the three generally accepted methods: APA, Chicago, or MLA. The Purdue Online Writing Lab...

Guided Reading

...EXPERIENCE PEER-LED LITERATURE DISCUSSIONS. College Reading Association Yearbook, (31), 61-80. When a student struggles with reading it can be difficult to get them to participate in classroom activities. This study showed that students who participate in guided reading are “able to engage in peer-led discussion with advanced understanding” (Potenza-Radis, 2010, 73). This article is deemed scholarly and given authority due to the peer-review process. Simpson, C. G., Spencer, V. G., Button, R., & Rendon, S. (2007). Using Guided Reading with Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Teaching Exceptional Children Plus, 4(1), 2-9. In the modern classroom more special students with disabilities are being pulled out of special education classrooms and put into regular classrooms. The responsilibty of being able to teach students with a wide range of levels (including disabilities) has been placed upon the teachers. Guided reading is ideal for teaching a mixed class because its “fundamental purpose is to meet the varying instructional needs of all students” (Simpson, 2007, 3). Not only does this peer-review give this paper authority but it also makes it scholarly. Suits, B. (2003). Guided Reading and Second-Language Leaners. Multicultural Education, 11(2), 27-34. Small peer groups in a situation such as guided reading allow for the much needed language practice. Working with small peer groups...

Think of this paper as a short literature review. Note 1: Your research papers must be your own original work!  Be sure to give proper credit when you borrow or use someone else's words and ideas, including your own previously written works. See the sixth edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association pages 15-16 for specific information on Plagiarism and Self-Plagiarism. If proper credit is not given to the work of others, the paper will be assigned a grade of 0. Note 2: If you choose to use the same topic for Paper 1 and for Paper 2, remember that your review of related literature for Paper 1 will be part of the research design you develop in Paper 2. ...Literature Search Paper NUR443 September 19, 2011 Professor Dina Faucher Literature Search Paper Numerous studies have been conducted to prove the relationship of shift work and fatigue and the results noted on medication errors. Two articles were chosen using the University Library, a qualitative research study and a quantitative research study from peer reviewed articles through the use of databases such as EBSCOhost, ProQuest, and Gale Powersearch. To research this topic, the query tool utilizing terminology such as shift work, fatigue, and medication errors was used to narrow the search. The intent of this paper is to identify the difference between research study articles versus plain journal articles, the type of nursing journals, and if the article is peer reviewed. EBSCOhost allows one to narrow the search, by selecting the mode as Boolean search, the source type as Academic Journal, the subjects as errors and patient safety, the publication as Journal of Nursing Management, AORN Journal, and Journal of Nursing Education, and finally the database as CINAHL plus with full text reduced the results to 259 articles. The articles are in order from most relevant to least relevant. Effects of working conditions of intravenous medication errors in Japanese hospital, written by Seki and Yamazaki was the most relevant article posted that encompassed the use of a quantitative research method to support the educational content. According to Burns and Grove (2011) “quantitative...
