As a prospective employee of an organisation, evaluate the usefulness of the knowledge of managing people and organisations in helping you to do your work better.

Information for many businesses means both increased profits and increased efficiency within the operations of a company. In this respect then it is reasonable to conclude that information and knowledge related to managing people and organisations would be one of the more critical aspects of this informational system. However while information and knowledge may be of good, and in itself, they are the processes through which we apply this knowledge which often has a vital bearing on the effectiveness of such knowledge. This problem then may be seen as a fundamental one in the continuing success of an organisation in terms of it goals and strategic objectives.

Nowadays in this fast-moving world where new technologies and innovations lay in the foreground of the business, management improvements are inevitable – ‘The nature of work and industrial organisation is truly changing with unnerving speed’ ( Kumar,1991,p201, Bradley, 1999). Hostel Injustice

...the management must have put great efforts to find accommodation for all of us. However, a few issues always remain. Only in this case the issues are not a few but too many! The purpose of hostel accommodation, I used to believe, is to provide a conducive environment for students’ studies as well as their comfort and relaxation. Moreover, in the final year of studies students are generally given more freedom so they can use their time effectively. But, here at Rangrajapuram hostel, we are given 2 rooms to be shared among 4 people each, with no facility available to us as of now. As outstation students, we all have a lot of luggage which we cannot just throw off because we don’t have space to keep them. And this is the condition as of now, when we have no wardrobes, study tables-chairs in the room. (Supposedly) if we get these things there will no space for movement. Then is the problem of commuting from this place to the college. We have heard that the management has decided to provide us with INR 70/- per 3 persons for one-side travel. However, since we have come here we couldn’t find an autowallah who would take us between the locations for that fare. After a hard bargain of 10-15 minutes they come to INR 100 mostly and INR 80 a few times (if we get lucky!) And there has been hardly a time when we had three people all going at the same time (this is when most of the schedule is coinciding). Further, it is going to be even more dispersed. So, at best, we have 2 people......

In reviewing various populations in the behavioral health area of the Dorland Health Case Management Resource Guide, I was most drawn to two separate and respective populations; one being individuals who experience and are living with mental health issues and the second being those individuals suffering from substance abuse issues. After giving the two some careful thought and consideration, I selected the special population of substance abuse. The population of substance abuse was selected because it was the one that I had the most interest in and also because I have more knowledge and experience as it pertains to this topic than I do with mental health issues. I have had first and second hand experience in dealing with this problem and I know how it affects those around the individual who is abusing the substance, whether it be alcohol or one or more of a various amount of drugs. I’ve known my fair share of people, both friends and family members who have suffered too long with this issue either from the inability to afford help or from...
