Personal Accident Insurance
This insurance policy covers insurance of life or limbs. Personal accident insurance contract is not a contract of indemnity because life or limbs cannot be valued in terms of money. So this policy cover only ensures a financial benefit arising out of accidental death or bodily injury.

Sum insured: As it is not a contract of indemnity, any person can effect any number of policies for any amount depending on his financial capability. At the time of claim all such policies must pay the entire sum insured under all such policies. But normally the sum insured is limited to TK.100, 000(one lac).
Premium: In spite of the position of law insurers would always try to put a check on the possible moral hazard by restricting the sum insured on the financial capability and standing of a man, that is to say, his continued premium payment capacity. Premium must be equal to at least 0.3% of the sum insured plus 15% VAT and a stamp fee of TK. 40.
The usual scales of benefit are: | Loss | Payment | 1. | Death | Sum insured | 2. | Loss of two limbs or two eyes | Do | 3. | Loss of one limb or one eye | 50% of the sum insured | 4. | Permanent total disablement | Sum insured | 5. | Permanent partial disablement | A percentage of the sum insured | 6. | Temporary total disablement | Weekly benefit at a rate percent of the sum insured | 7. | Temporary partial disablement | Weekly benefit at a reduced rate percent of the sum insured than in above |

Personal Injury Protection

...PERSONAL INJURY PROTECTION Personal injury protection (PIP) reimburses medical expenses for covered individuals, regardless of fault, for treatment due to auto accident. PIP covers the driver and any other passengers injured in the vehicle. PIP coverage may also be available for pedestrians injured by a vehicle. Personal injury protection also pays for funeral expenses, lost earnings, rehabilitation, and replacement of services such as child care if parent is disabled. PIP does not cover damages made on the car or any other personal property; it is just an extension of car insurance that is available in some U.S states. Not all states require personal injury protection insurance. Some states actually make it mandatory to have PIP insurance. Personal injury protection is designed to be paid without regard to “fault”, or legal liability. To determine coverage, the automobile insurance company’s medical adjuster reviews healthcare bills submitted to company for treatment of injuries sustained. The minimum benefits given are: 1. Up to 10,000 for reasonable and necessary medical expenses for each person injured in an auto accident. Available...
