The picture was taken from the stands of a stadium by my parents during halftime. They did not know how to properly zoom in on their camera, so the picture came out blurry. Also, because of the zooming error, the picture included my teammates standing a couple of feet to my right and left. To my right, one of my teammates was walking away, and since the picture was taken as he was moving, he is distorted. Everyone’s uniform was the same, except for the goalie. We did not reach our goal of raising enough money to buy new uniforms, so our uniform only consisted of a number on the front and back of the uniform shirt. The uniform shorts were the same and only had a number on it. On my left, the goalie was putting his gloves on while my other teammates …show more content…
One of my teammates, near the goalie, was carrying a bag which contained small gifts. These gifts were given to all the seniors on the soccer team, and in the bag contained a small letter and a picture frame with the team picture in it. All of the gifts were the same for all seniors except, in my bag, I received an extra gift. I was given an extra gift because I was the captain of the soccer team, and I gave the most heart during the games. The extra gift was a painting of a jaguar, my high school’s mascot, and had the signatures of all my teammates on it. In the center of the picture, I was standing next to my coach. Since I was the captain, I was wearing my captain’s band on my right bicep. I was wearing the same uniform as everyone else, but my shorts were a size too small. I remember very clearly what he told me at the end of his speech. With his hand on my shoulder he told me, “thank you for everything that you have …show more content…
I wore my lucky purple striped cleats, and made sure I was ready mentally and physically. Our last game was held at our home stadium, Hoss Memtas Stadium. The game was against a team who played very similar as we did; however, they were very rough and they liked to take cheap shots when no one was looking. This was the second time that we played them, and even though we only played them once, we knew they would be our rivals. I knew, right off the bat, that this game was going to be difficult physically and mentally. I normally play a position that equally balances offense and defense, but for this game my coach wanted me to play strictly defense. The game was going back and forth. They would get the ball and attack, then we would get the ball and attack. The game was a basically a stalemate as of now. Next thing I know, the whistle for halftime blew, and as soon as I came to sit down on the bench, my coach greeted me and my fellow seniors with gifts. Shortly after, he pulled me to the side and gave a speech on my behalf; however, this speech didn’t last very long because halftime ended. The second half of the game started very similarly to the first half, but that didn’t last too long because the other team managed to score the first goal of the game. Only after this goal did the remainder of the game convert back into a stalemate.
