People call me crazy, but I call myself a determined, hard working crossfitter. Crossfit has taken up a vast majority of my life and I could say that it has changed who I am as a person and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Everyday i’m in that same gym day after day working my butt off to try and better myself. Most people who partake in crossfit, could easily agree that crossfit slowly becomes an addiction of your own...a very good one of course, once you start you can’t ever stop. Community; multiple people of the same interests’ come together as supporters for one another. Three years ago when I first became a member of “Portcrossfit”, everything had changed. When someone just starts out with crossfit, it almost feels impossible to complete a workout. Just when you think you can't finish and giving up is your only option, every single one of your teammates are surrounding you, screaming, clapping and pushing you to finish and suddenly, the pain just goes away and you feel invincible. I had a very hard time with people accepting the fact that I did crossfit. The people who really had a problem with it is unfortunately the guys. Walking into science class of tenth grade, i’ll never forget instantly getting made fun of, it’s hard to stay motivated and keep going when you’re constantly being brought down. Crossfit is something that is not easy without all the support you can get and with the harsh words coming my way, it was a difficult time in the gym. After I was done letting their words get to me, I finally realized how ridiculous it was for me to stop something I had such a strong passion for just because a few guys were jealous I could most likely outlift them.
