As my second term at Troy dothan comes to an end I cannot begin to say how thankful and proud of myself for ending with a 4.0 GPA. This semester at Troy has been a great new chapter in my life with some unexpected valleys. During my first term as many of you know my grandmother passed away unexpectedly. It has been very hard on my family these past few months, she was such a big part of all of our lives and her absence is truly felt every single day. Many times throughout this semester I wondered if there was any reason for me to keep going with my college career and the path that I am wanting to go to become an Optometrist. I went over to my grandparents house to show them and my Nannie was ecstatic, she was so proud. As I reflect on that wonderful memory of my Nannie I can’t help but to want to finish my degree and go on to Optometry school because she would have been so excited for me and for all of the things that I will accomplish in the future. My Nannie always loved to hear how well any of her grandchildren were doing in school and was always there to support and love us.This year has been a season of life I would have never imagined myself to be in but we do not always understand why or how these tragedies happen, but God sees the bigger picture that we cannot.
