I love basketball and I wanted to learn how to do some tricks. Specifically the cross between the legs. I wanted it so bad that I thought that I already could do it. The first time I tried I felt the need to scream and yell because I didn’t do it. I didn’t do the trick that I thought I could do. I tried and tried again I still couldn’t do it. I kept telling myself “ I can do it, I can do it” Then my coach told me to line up for stretches. I didn’t have a good practice because I keep thinking about that trick. I had this voice in my head saying “ You suck Annastacia. Get over it.”, but I couldn’t get over it. I did ball handling drills which is dribbling two balls at the same time. I would also just take steps up and down the driveway bouncing the ball in between my legs. I would practice until my mom would tell me to come inside to eat her amazing alfredo chicken and noodles for dinner that night. The next day I kept thinking about what I was doing wrong. At practice, I asked my coach to show me how to do it and he did. I watched very closely and took notes in my head, “Dribble in the middle, right foot back, bent knees” ect. I went home once again and practiced so hard I felt like a tired cheetah that has run for days.
