Creating a Study Space Personalization of study space can improve the student’s ability to effectively complete academic goals. As an example, a study space should be comfortable and focused which can include a checklist of desired goals and a motivating phrase. In addition, this customization of a study space not only allows for a comfortable study area, but can also serve as a motivation to continue to stay on the expected academic path. As a comfortable and customized study space may create a positive student environment, organization of that space is key. Organizing can include having all of the materials needed at the study space, and determining the best medium for the school work (ie: hand written notes versus computer files). (“Assignment 2, Creating a Study Space,” n.d.).

I need a designated area to have my computer and keep all of my work. In addition, I do not work well with distractions, so I will do my needed studies during the school hours so that my kids cannot disturb me. In addition, I also need to keep my home quiet, as distractions have a tendency to break my concentration. A designated area, time, and space for my study space is necessary, but customization will help keep me motivated.

Once I had received my approval for the Masters Forensic Psychology program at Argosy University, I placed my BS in Psychology within close proximity of my study space. I had finished my BS in 2012, and have taken the diploma and simply placed it in my closet. I am using this customization to remind myself that I did do well in achieving my BS. Therefore, past achievements displayed will help motivate me for future academic goals.

Case Study

...Case Study 1 5/10/2012 Top Quality Architects, LP My company, Top Quality Architects has just recently won a bid to construct a high rise residential apartment building. Before we get started there are a few considerations to take a look at during the beginning of this new project. The location that the construction will take place borders a high crime urban area. When we construct this building we want our residents to feel safe while living here whether they are parking their vehicle or just exiting or entering the apartment building. Our design will not include ground floor apartments simply because we feel that there is no security and public to private entrance will only increase the possibility of a crime to happen. In order to do this we would have to apply the crime prevention through environmental design concept. Crime prevention through environmental design or CPTED reduces the opportunity of crime occurring. We know that it is impossible to mitigate crime permanently so we take every precaution we can to reduce it by a large percentage. To be effective and truly implement the CPTED principles, the design factors must be blended with the social (human) factors of the environment. This blend requires the involvement of trained and dedicated individuals, (a mix of government, neighborhood, and business representatives) from its design through it use, individuals from very diverse disciplines coming together to design an environment for people...

Tort In The Workplace

...matter of utmost importance. A workplace is a predominantly economic sphere and the very reason people are there is to make money. Thus, the very concept of punishing the hindrance of the sanctity of this sphere by imposing monetary punishment has a sense of poetic justice and fairness to it. The other facet of such a legal action also acts as a deterrent to possible offenders and thus goes a long way into creating an efficient workplace where every employee can contribute their best efforts into their jobs. And that probably explains why the usage of tort law to further augment employee rights has seen a massive surge in the recent legal history in the last...

Ikea - When Brand Meets Space: a Study of Customers' Perception Onto Ikea's Spatial Configuration as a Branding Blueprint

...1.0 – INTRODUCTION 1.1 –INTRODUCTION The chapter provides a radius of the background of study at hand into deducing the problems or issues that encompass it. Next to that, will be a statement of the aim as well as the objectives of this study in order to comprehend the matter in more depth as well as a succinct overview of the following chapters. 1.2 – BACKGROUND OF STUDY Human civilization is dependent upon signs and systems of signs, and the human sign is inseparable from the functioning-if indeed mentality is not to be identified with such functioning (Morris, 1938). A brand instead, is a promise of satisfaction. It is a sign as well nevertheless, a metaphor operating as an unwritten contract between a manufacturer and a consumer, a seller and a buyer, a performer and an audience, an environment and those who inhabit it, and event and those who experience it (Healey, 2008). Even so, too often companies think of the brand experience in silos: as an identity, logo, website, advertisement, and so on. To be successful, a brand had to be experienced whole – emotionally and tangibly – telling a consistent and engaging story at every tower point along the way (Astorino, 2011). A successful brand positively and clearly distinguishes a company’s products and services from those of its competitors. Statistics confirm that higher quality brands gain greater market share and profitability than their inferior competition (MacDonald, 2012). As the economy of late capitalism shifted from...

This research explores the essential presence of temporary activities with in a city ,which requires a critical understanding of the functioning of public space .Finally this research would suggest possibilities of better spatial pattern to enhance spatial interaction and revive urban identities. CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION: If an urban environment is to be considered as a spatial ‘system’ and it is to be valued as a whole, “one must consider its parts in relation to its parts, its parts in relation to the whole and the whole in relation to the parts” (Archer et al., 1984, p. 8). People tend to respond to their environment according to their experiences, structuring and information obtained from the space. The long time scales of developing urban identity coupled with the short intense bursts of design input into the urban environment require an empirical approach to be adopted if successful and failed attempts to sustain city identity are to be analyzed and transferred...

How to Describe Teaching in Learning

...CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION 1. Background of Analysis To understand a concept to the point of being able to explain it to others, is when real learning has occurred and personal knowledge has been acquired. Nowadays is indeed true for learners in a variety of guided situations.  The natural reaction of mulling over a complex problem or situation with others allows for deeper levels of reasoning, new perspectives, shared responsibilities and greater motivation to remain focused on the learning.  A practical implication when conversation and interaction is encouraged rather than discouraged is more noise, less quiet; greater movement, reduced lecturing.  When teachers have participated in workshops designed with this style of learning. Teachers need to recognize collaboration as a viable method of creating individual meaning, and learning courses. 2. Point of View 1. Defining of Learning 2. Defining of Teaching 3. Understanding of Language Learning 4. Elements of Language Learning CHAPTER II EXPLANATION Defining of Learning We use the term 'learning' all the time in everyday life. But within the field of educational psychology, the term learning is actually a specific term. Different people use different words to define learning within educational psychology, but in general, we're talking about a step-by-step process in which an individual experiences permanent, lasting changes in knowledge, behaviors, or ways of processing...
