Instructor: In summarizing what i've gleaned from this class, to me personal wellness is taking responsibility for you and your families health, by adopting healthy thoughts and behaviors through the seven dimensions of health: Emotional, Intellectual, Social, Spiritual, Physical, Occupational, and Environmental. Also the three types of prevention, primary, secondary, and tertiary are important for improving our life from disease and injury. Changing behaviors, setting goals to achieve and live a healthy lifestyle and keeping these dimensions in perspective takes constant effort. There has to be an inbetween in prevention where you can still enjoy a bacon cheeseburger and not feel regret about the fat content or the calories you just ate. Not only do we have to worry about the affects of the burger on our health but we have to worry about weather or not we can still fit into our namebrand jeans without having a muffintop. It's not only the social "guilt bludgening" we get every day but their is a factual personal guilt that we tend to pour onto ourselves thats probably from the media trained mind set we have come to know as the "normal". After looking at my life and at others around me I get the feeling that everyone sincerely whants to be happy but have been generaly "trained" to live in a constant state of confusion of how to be happy. We should look at what really makes ourselves and the people around us happy. there is a healthy mind set that is really important and I don't think a lot of people consider it as important as just eating right. People just like ourselves are trying to just make it through the're lives being happy and healthy but going to happy hour and eating happy meals and not paying attention to what is really important, like spending time with a grandparent or sharing a meal at the table with your
