Persuasive Essay: I Need A Dog Trainer

Submitted By
Words 598
Pages 3
I believe that a dog trainer should not be able to keep their service dog. The dog could be saving lives in the battle field instead of sitting home with its trainer. The dog can’t do anything for the army when its at home. That would also be a waste of money. The dog handler doesn't need the dog back so why should they get the dog back.

I feel this way because if all wounded service officers got their dog back hundreds of thousands of military dollars would be wasted. This money spent on training dogs for the military could have been spent on new schools or houses for the homeless. And also why pay for a dog to be military trained if it's not going to be in the military. It is also a waste of the person's time that trained the dog. Also if the military paid for the dog and fo it to be trained why should the wounded service officer get it. …show more content…
The scope magazine also states that it takes a quite a long period of time to militarily train a dog. These are just two more reasons that militarily trained dogs should not be sent home with their former partners. The service dogs could be kept in the military to save many people's lives. Because of the dog being used to so much excitement it may get bored sitting at a house all day. After the dog is given back to its handler the military will have to spend even more money to get a new dog for the other ones position. This will also take up valuable time which could be used to do something else. A dog in the military can do a great deal of work unlike the ones that get sent back to their former handlers. If a dog is just gave to a different handler it could find many bombs, save many people's lives, and help track the people down that planted the bombs. A great way to resolve this problem would be to let the handler have the dog after its military service is

The Secret of Language Leadership

...Wiley & Sons, Inc. More Praise for The Secret Language of Leadership “Out of the morass of strategies leaders are given to transform organizations, Denning plucks a powerful one—storytelling— and shows how and why it works.” —Dorothy Leonard, William J. It should be mandatory reading for anyone interested in engaging a company with big ideas who understands that leaders live and die by the quality of what they say.” —Richard Stone, story analytics master, i.d.e.a.s “A primary role of leaders is to create and maintain meaning for their organizations. Denning clearly demonstrates that meaningmaking comes from stories well told.” —Thomas Davenport, President’s Distinguished Professor of I.T. and Management, Babson College, and author, The Attention Economy “Steve Denning is one of the leading thinkers on the power of narrative in business settings. Introduction to Psychology

...TPS 101: INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOLOGY TPS 101 serves as the beginning course in psychology; as such, it is broad in scope. The course will introduce students to the history of psychology, and current paradigms and theories. We will cover neuroscience, sensation, perception, memory, and language, stress and health psychology, personality and social psychology, intelligence, and developmental psychology. Because of time limitations, none of these topics can be covered in great depth. The reference textbooks and the material presented in class will serve as the primary sources for the material to be covered. INTRODUCTION TO THE STUDY OF PSYCHOLOGY Psychology is the scientific study of behaviour and mental processes. It is an academic and applied discipline involving the scientific study of mental processes and behaviour. Psychology also refers to the application of such knowledge to various spheres of human activity, including problems of individuals' daily lives and the treatment of mental illness. It is largely concerned with humans, although the behaviour and mental processes of animals can also be part of psychology research, either as a subject in its own right (e.g. animal cognition and ethnology), or somewhat more controversially, as a way of gaining an insight into human psychology by means of comparison (including comparative psychology). Origins of the psychology Near the end of 19th century things started drawing together. Questions raised by philosophers were being...

Leadership Development - Doe

...Leadership Development Seminars and ECQ-based Readings The success or failure of any endeavor depends on leadership. Now, more than ever before, we need leaders in our organizations and in our world. Great leaders create and communicate a vision and move people into action to achieve it. They ignite our passion and inspire us to do our best. Government leaders in the 21st century are experiencing change at a more rapid pace than previous generations. Rapid advances in technology have expanded the quantity of work we are capable of accomplishing, and also where it’s accomplished. We have a more highly educated workforce, yet face diminishing resources with an increased demand for productivity, and the essential services we provide to the American public. To be successful at navigating these challenges leaders must develop the essential skills to motivate their employees, effectively communicate with others, fine-tune critical thinking skills, and build and leverage partnerships. Future leaders must also be visionary; i.e., possess the ability to identify trends and the courage to be innovative. Being technically adept in your field will no longer be enough. In response to these demands on senior executives, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management identified five Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) that all aspiring government leaders and executives must possess.
