Weeks ago there was a school shooting in Parkland Florida, at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School (Schuster 1.)That shooting brought out demands for gun reform laws and change, from students across the nation. For example, students across the country walked out of schools on Wednesday, March 14, to honor and remember the 17 dead, for 17 minutes(Schuster 1.) This is going to follow up by a walk on Washington called“, March For Our Lives” on March 24 (Schuster 2.) With all the attention that this movement is causing, it has the nation divided once again. People are wondering if guns are the issue or if mental health and bullying is the issue. On February 14, 2018, a shooting in Parkland Florida created a movement (Schuster 1.) A man named Nikolas Cruz would kill 17 high school students, and wounded 16 others (Kirby 1) From this movement the issue of school shootings arrived. Everyone has an opinion, and people are split on how to tackle and eliminate mass shootings. Some say guns are to blame while others are saying mental health and bullying issues are to be blamed. …show more content…

This father believes that kids shouldn't be walking out of school but should be walking up to those who are bullied. I agree with that statement. Why waste school time protesting for gun reform that may or may not happen? Also giving kids the opportunity to walkout during class gives kids the ability to take advantage of that system. These minors commit serious crimes, but the law is soft with them. He asked Luke why he shot his kids and Luke replied “Life has wronged me, sir.” A couple minutes before the shooting started he gave this message to a friend "I am not insane, I am angry. If we use this definition anytime we are producing ideas or judgements we are utilizing critical thinking. When using critical thinking we are mentally going through steps in our head to achieve our desired outcomes. The skills we use for critical thinking are observation, interpretation, analyzing, inference, evaluation, explanation and metacognition(Boyd, p85). My daughter is turning 5 in two weeks but she has been a very willful child since she could speak.  We wake for school every day at the same time, and I observe her mood from the time she opens her eyes. I watch to see if she has gotten enough sleep, if she is grumpy or if she hops straight out of bed. The wheels in my head begin turning and I have to interpret her language into mine so that I don't miss any of the clues she is sending me.  Once I have figured out her mood I need to analyze how I'm going to handle her.  Her moods are very tricky. I suggest a particular outfit for her to wear.  Most days she doesn't like what I pick out for her to wear because she feels that she is old enough to make her own decisions when it comes to wardrobe. Do they have an affect on adolescents? Do they influence their actions and thoughts? Over the past couple of years there have been cases of school shootings. In particular the Columbine High School Shooting and Virginia Tech Massacre were both influenced by violent video games. In the Columbine High School shooting, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold shot and killed thirteen people and then killed themselves. At Virginia Tech, Seung-Hui Cho shot and killed thirty-three people, including himself, and injured twenty-three others (School 1). Violent video games played a major role in these school shootings because the games were tools used to practice there plan and give them the ideas for the weapons they would use and how they would use them. Harris and Klebold attended Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. When the two teens had planned the attack it was intended for propane tanks to detonate that they left in the cafeteria in duffle bags. “According to the report released by the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office, the tanks contained sufficient explosives power to ‘kill the majority of students’ who would be in the cafeteria for lunch” (Columbine 1).
