Subject: New Communication Code of Conduct
Date: April 8, 2014
To: All Employees

Dear Employees,
Our company has remained prominent due to the hard work of our employees. We have become one of the leading companies in women’s maternity apparel and accessories due to our seamless and cohesive communication skills. However, recent examination of internal communication shows that the ability to communicate effectively has digressed, to the point where it has caused turmoil. F&K desires to promote core values of courage, honesty, responsibility, and respect; not only in communication, but all aspects of conducting business. In order to achieve our goals, the company has established a Code of Conduct covering all internal communications effective April 15, 2014.

Code of Conduct
To encourage integrity, honesty, and accountability all employees shall follow:

* Respectful Communication between Co-Workers- Every method of communication must contain the highest levels of respect for all individuals involved. Special note to cultural differences, skill sets, different viewpoints, and other co-worker’s personal perceptions must be acknowledged while communicating. Under no circumstance should any employee insult another individual, or cowardly hide insults by stating them in a joking manner. All internal communication should be symmetrical to the professional communication used to speak to superiors or clientele. * Prompt Communication- Problems which arise should be immediately addressed. This will allow them to be resolved quickly before chaos ensues. Communicators should practice honesty and openness with each other as all opinions are valued and respected. Correct information should be given in order to address the misunderstood communication. This will eliminate backchannel e-mails and the formation of work place cliques. *

...CHAPTER SIX: STRUCTURE The learning goal of this chapter is to teach students how to shape their messages and arguments into appropriate structures. Since the chapter is long and contains, in effect, three mini-cases -- on Great Lakes, RAs, and Narrative -- you may choose to teach the chapter in one class and the case in the next. One way to structure a class on this chapter is to emphasize the commonalities among logical, psychological, and narrative structures. Beginning, Middle, and End Both an argument (given, since, therefore) and a communication structure (introduction, body, conclusion) share the same features, that is, they have a beginning, a middle, and an end. We discuss these features in further detail in the Guides to Effective Writing and Speaking in Part Three. Here, we simply encourage the instructor to pull together some organizational principles. Some suggestions for focusing student discussion: When defining your content, marshalling your arguments, and developing your structure, try to meet the following criteria: Beginnings should: 1. Gain the audience's attention and focus it on your topic. 2. Explain why the topic is important, timely, or otherwise of interest. 3. Indicate the point of view you will take or suggest your conclusion. 4. Establish a relationship of mutual respect with your audience. Middles should: 1. Develop your main argument by identifying and addressing its component parts. 2. Address subtopics according...

Service Management Team From: Date: August 1, 2012 Re: Talking Points for Customer Inquires CC: Executive Leadership Team As you all know, ‘Game Wars – Journey to Mars’ is scheduled to release in November, 2012. Over the past two years, developers have been working day and night to create the latest edition to the series. On June 1, 2012 beta testing began and game reviewers began to share their findings with the public via a variety of social outlets creating a buzz in the gaming community. Marketing campaigns to promote the holiday release began in July 1, 2012. Pre-orders were made available on July 15, 2012 which quickly began to threaten supply versus demand. On July 17, 2012, a bug was detected in the game that dramatically impacts the quality of game play. As a result, Chief Executive Officer, Walter Goodwyn hired a team of consultants to dissect the issue and determine the best course of action. After careful consideration, we are planning on releasing the game on time with the intention of releasing a free patch to correct the issues. The patch will release in January 2013 and will include a promotion code for gamers to purchase an in-game premium item of their choice. As you know, we pride ourselves on our ethical principles...

Unit 3

... Rights and Obligations 6-21 A. Inquiry oral evidence is the weakest form of evidence and if given by the client should typically be followed up and verified by better evidence. Inquiry of outside parties can be more convincing. Evidence from inquiry should be based on how knowledgeable the parties are about the business and procedure. Often the client will tell you what they think is happening but they might not have verified it lately and may be relying on what someone else has told them. So, the best inquiry is from the person actually doing the activity, not someone who thinks it should be done. Inquiry has very low validity and is a good starting place to decide what to test and perhaps the areas for attention but is not persuasive. B. An audit may include computation of various balance sheet and operating ratios for comparison to prior years and industry averages. Discuss the validity and limitations of ratio analysis in an audit. Ratio analysis and analytical review is helpful to get the big picture and find areas that do not meet expectations and therefore are higher risk. The validity is fair, better then inquiry but it is indirect evidence. It is a summarization and average over the year and so only points to where to do more detailed work. C. In connection with his audit of the financial statements of a manufacturing company, an auditor is observing the physical inventory of finished goods, which consists of expensive, highly complex electronic equipment...
