Over the past seven weeks at Piedmont Counseling and Development Group there was collected tons of work and responsibilities. Working at my internship and having a part-time job and full time school can be stressful. Many times, often I would love to give up. But giving up is not an option in my book. One of my favorite quotes by Shannon L Alder “The moment you realize that you were always the right person. Only ignorant people walk away from greatness” (Word for the weekend, 2016). This quote helps me get through these challenging seven weeks. I take my internship as a learning experience. A quote that I will take with me every day is by Ed a Substance abuse counselor the quote stated as follows” You will never stop learning. When you do, there’s a problem (Ed, personal communication, Feb, 5, 2016)” Three key elements I’m learning at Piedmont Counseling and Development Group are, proper writing, responsibility and trust. …show more content…
Luckily, Kaplan University has the writing center and other great resources. The writing center saved me from numerous of headaches and drowning in tears. During my years of schooling and interning, I have almost been more of a speaker than a writer. I have a tendency to over analyze everything. When I over analyze things while writing, it causes confusion in my sentences, resulting in something always missing. My grammatical errors have also resulted of over analyzing. Growing up in the 21st century, students used slang term for everything. I use slang so much that it is sometimes hard to change back to the actual word when writing.
