Pigskin vs Leather

The United States of America is known for its entertaining sports. The National Football League (NFL) and the National Basketball Association are two of the highly regarded sports associated with the United States. Both sports blissfully entertains the audience, which has made the two sports what they are today. However, the two sports are vastly different. How the sports are played, the contrasting environment of both sports, and their fans is what separates them.

Professional American Basketball is played indoors usually inside an enclosed stadium. The floor the players play on are laminated wood floors with two basket goals facing opposing sides of one another. They are white marking to distinguish the two teams’ sides. Professional American Football is played on turf either grass or synthetic made grass usually inside an open field stadium. The field also has white markings that divide the field in increments of ten yards.

Secondly, Professional Basketball is played with two teams playing against each other. Each team consists of five players on the floor. The scoring system consists of: three point baskets, two point baskets and one point foul shots. American Football also consist of two teams playing against each other. However, each team consist of eleven players on the field per team. The scoring system is: six points for touchdowns, one or two point conversion plays after touchdown plays, three points for a field goal attempt, and two points for a safety play.

In addition to the scoring system, the sports are played quite differently. Basketball requires you to bounce the ball in the form of dribbling, does not allow you make any physical contact to the player with the ball, and points are scored through the ball successfully entering the basket. In Football you are required to carry/catch and run with the ball (unless you are the quarterback, who is allow to throw the ball forward behind the line of scrimmage) , allow to make physical contact in order to stop the player with the ball(the contact to bring down a does have rules), and points/touchdowns are scored through breaking the plane of the end zone via running in with the football or catching the ball inside it.

The fans who watch basketball via television tend to be controlled and well-mannered when they are watching the game. If they are attending the game physically he/she may be more animatedly expressive. In contrast football fans are more likely to be irrational, vocal, intoxicated, and openly passionate about their team. Attending the game or viewing the game through a video source, it does not matter to football fans.

In conclusion, both Professional sports are well indulged sports. Both are highly regarded in their retrospective ways, being immersed within these two sports is a surreal experiences, whether, you are a part of the sport or just a fan or spectator it does not matter. The National Basketball Association may be more reserved and controlled sport compared to The National Football League which is more vigorous, clashing, and explosive sport. These two sports are without doubt to be imprinted for generations to come.

...FOR BLYTHE Acknowledgments My profound thanks to three dear friends with whom I have the great luxury of working: my editor, Jason Kaufman; my agent, Heide Lange; and my counselor, Michael Rudell. In addition, I would like to express my immense gratitude to Doubleday, to my publishers around the world, and, of course, to my readers. This novel could not have been written without the generous assistance of countless individuals who shared their knowledge and expertise. To all of you, I extend my deep appreciation. To live in the world without becoming aware of the meaning of the world is like wandering about in a great library without touching the books. The Secret Teachings of All Ages ———————————— FACT: In 1991, a document was locked in the safe of the director of the CIA. The document is still there today. Its cryptic text includes references to an ancient portal and an unknown location underground. The document also contains the phrase “It’s buried out there somewhere.” All organizations in this novel exist, including the Freemasons, the Invisible College, the Office of Security, the SMSC, and the Institute of Noetic Sciences. All rituals, science, artwork, and monuments in this novel are real. ———————————— Prologue House of the Temple 8:33 P.M. The secret is how to die. Since the beginning of time, the secret had always been how to die. The thirty-four-year-old initiate gazed down at the human skull cradled in his palms. The skull was hollow, like...
