Imagine being told you can’t do something based on something your grandma or grandpa did, or people judging you based on family history. This is how thousands of pit bulls feel every day. Pitbulls all over America are being mistreated because of the bad reputation they have, but not all pitbulls are this aggressive. Pitbulls can make a wonderful pet. They are not any more dangerous than any other dog, they can actually improve your household,
Since the 1800s pit bulls have held the name as the most dangerous dog. As the 1930s, they became known as the fighting dog. People would breed the dog intentionally for dog fights. It takes an average dog two and a half weeks to get adopted, for a pitbull it will take an average of seven and a half …show more content…
Dr. Billmire would agree with that statement. Billmire has been a plastic surgeon for 30 years now. Billmire says that the first 5 years he would see dog bites it would be a german shepherd or a golden retriever. Most of the bites would have been related to food or stepping on the dog, but in the last 25 years thing has changed dramatically. He continues on saying, when there was a dog bite not from a pitbull it would usually seen as a warning bite, but when it was a pitbull there was massive wounds and flesh was torn and most of the time it was more than one dog (Billmire). This is showing that this time the pit bulls bites were not just a warning that it was its intention to hurt that person. Instead of them seeing just one bite they would see multiple bites and flesh being ripped off. In conclusion of Billmire’s report, he proceeded with saying, “There are plenty of breeds available that peacefully coexist with human society. There is no need for pit bulls” (Billmire). He is saying that we have so many other dogs that wouldn’t hurt us, so why are we keeping pit bulls around? People think that pitbulls are a illrealivent dog and that we don’t need pitbulls just because they are know as the “bad” dog. Pit bulls are need for many other breeds of dogs if we get rid of pit bull they won't be the only breed to

...Should pit bulls be allowed to keep pit bulls as pets I think that pit bulls should be allowed to be pets for many reasons. The first reason is because, not all pit bulls are dangerous. It mainly depends on how the dog was raised and treated. If the dog was not trained when it was a baby, then there is a high chance that it could be dangerous. But they can also be very cute and protective pets. Pit bulls are also not bad pets to have for comfort. People should not assume things about pit bulls. Many people assume that pit bulls are bad dogs, just because of their history. But if they treat pit bulls like that, they should treat all breeds of dogs like that. Just because it's a certain breed does not mean that they are all mean. Because other...

...Should people be allowed to keep pitbulls as pets?” I will be talking about why pit bulls should not be allowed to be kept as pets. My first reason is because most people say that pitbulls are vicious dogs and that they are dangerous and are not safe animals to keep as pets. People say that pitbulls are vicious because in a newspaper article “Miami-Dade County Votes to Keep Pit Bulls Out” in this article it states that a neighbor pitbull had escaped from the house and viciously attacked an 8 year old which ended up with her having to have multiple major reconstructive surgeries in the years following the incident. My second reason why pit bulls should not be pets is because they are dangerous and are not allowed to be in social places because...

...| Pit Bulls | Mean or Misunderstood | Andre L Bourgeois 8/27/2011 Instructor: Ms Nancy Hill | Andre Bourgeois GE 117-M6 August 20, 2011 Pit Bulls: Mean or Misunderstood? By Andre Bourgeois Thesis: There is no other dog that conjures up fear and terror by the mere mention of their name as the pit bull. American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) aka Pit Bull brings fear to people because of the amount of human fatalities these dogs are supposedly involved in. The media would have you believe that these deaths are on the rise and is of epidemic proportions with the pit bull being the main perpetrator. An urban legend is that they have Locking jaws and have a super strength bite force. Another myth is that they are aggressive towards people, and go insane. Most people don’t realize is that the term “Pitt bull” is not a breed of dog; it is a group of a certain type of dog. The origin of this breed doesn’t help their reputation. The APBT was bred specifically for the purpose of being the ultimate fighting dog. The breed needed to be quick, agile, strong, determined, aggressive, and able to withstand pain and have a lot of game (to never give up under any situations). What is not known about the APBT is that they were bred NOT to be aggressive toward people. That was one trait that was bred into them, non aggressive towards people. The breeders needed that trait because when breaking up dog fights they didn’t want...

Victory stands for class-leading quality, innovation and style. Victory is American and new- always looking forward. We are all about the future of American motorcycles. - Mark Blackwell, Victory Vice President1 Mark Blackwell, vice president in charge of Victory Motorcycle at Polaris Industries, glanced up at company headquarters in Medina, Minnesota as he pulled his gleaming cruiser into the parking lot. An accomplished rider himself, winning the national 500cc motocross championship and being inducted into the American Motorcycle Association’s Hall of Fame, he knew his company’s bikes had come pretty far since they were first introduced to the riding public in 1998. With the development of the new Vision, a luxury touring bike, and the steady release of aggressively-styled cruisers, the company had continually innovated throughout its first decade in business. Yet Blackwell pondered the recurring questions facing Victory Motorcycles and Polaris. He wondered if the initial decision to diversify into heavyweight motorcycles was the right road to take. He realized Polaris took a big risk by moving into motorcycles and going up against the recognized powerhouses in the industry...
