“For his ability to express modern human concerns in many different forms, Juan Ramón Jiménez is considered today… the trunk of the tree that comprises all of Spanish contemporary poetry” (Juliá). We can easily observed this on Jiménez book Platero and I, since the poems follow an “orderly passage of time--life, death, and the seasons” (Kirkus Reviews). In a review of Platero and I it is mentioned that this book “is an allegory of the deepest human emotions” ("Juan Ramón…”). My favorite chapter is kindergarten because it touches on how education was during Jimenez time. In this chapter Jimenez tells us that at four Platero should entered kindergarten, but it is not a good place for him, since the teacher “would most probably keep you
