According to NCSl.org, the Post 9/11 GI Bill helped more than one million military veterans and their families attend college. (NCSL 1) In 2008, the updated federal veterans’ education law was passed, which paid for in-state tuition and fees to the college or university that the veteran or their family attends. The law also provides the student with a monthly stipend to help pay school supplies and housing. This federal law gives the opportunity to go college and continue their education. In addition, NCSL.org also states that between 2000 and 2012, more than 900,000 veterans and military service members received education benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.(NCSL 1) It was between 2009 and to 2010 where there was large …show more content…
182 has two main focuses. This bill will change the current reporting methods with a more efficient reporting method. This method will decrease the amount of time it takes to process the reports. It will also decrease the amount of money it takes to process them because of the shorter process time. Second, it will let veterans get the assistance they need much faster, which means that they will not have wait weeks or months. With faster processing time, it also relieves a lot of stress from veterans giving them an easier time and help them get an education that they …show more content…
182 was reintroduced and sponsored by Representative Ken Calvert (R-CA-42) on January 7, 2015 and gained five cosponsors from both Democratic and Republican parties. Representative Mark Tekano (D-CA-41.) of the Republican Party supports veterans by fighting against the cuts to their benefits and is in the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs and is a ranking member of the Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity. (Tekano 1) Representative Duncan Hunter (R-CA-50) is against the unacceptable backlog in processing benefits at the Veterans Administration and he is also a Marine veteran that fully understands the hardships of veterans. (Hunter 1) Representative Michael M. Honda (D-CA-17) believes that it is our duty to make sure that our veterans get the benefits they deserve and he is also a member of the House Appropriation Committee that fights for the provision of funding to veteran programs. (Honda 1) Representative Colonel Paul Cook (R-CA-8) is a retired Maine corps veteran and supports multiple issues like veteran jobs, benefits, healthcare, and homeless programs. (Cook 1) Representative Scott H. Peters (D-CA-52) is a member of the Congressional Military Veterans Caucus and wants to ensure that veterans get their benefits, access to healthcare, have a place to live, and improving the transition to civilian life. (Scott Peters 1) Bill H.R.182 is still relatively new only being introduced early this year meaning that it has no financial supporters, nor any

...standards, and technological developments. The performance of the organization has caught the attention of some foreign firms, and additional business ventures will analyzed. China’s second-largest airline has proposed a joint-venture offering shares, profits, cultural know-how for equipment and managerial know-how. Australia’s HNZ group has proposed an acquisition and has offered their staff, equipment, and cultural know-how in exchange for technological expertise and heavy equipment. Finally the sister corporation VIH Cougar in the Gulf of Mexico could be further expanded. The analysis completed was a competitor analysis; Bristow, PHI, and CHC are all industry leaders bringing their own expertise to the table. Bristow is one of the largest companies in the industry and recently started using TCAS2’s (traffic collision avoidance system) for new equipment. PHI dominates the North American oil and gas market, and has the most air time experience of all firms. CHC also has strong ties with oil and gas firms, but after a significant loss they are looking to be acquired by another firm. Overall the helicopter industry is growing due to the new exploration sites for oil and gas, and many opportunities exist. The second part of the analysis was comparing the economic, political, legal systems: and cultural, ethical, and human rights standards of the three countries to gain further insight into the degree of risk each country has. Prayer in the School Setting

...PRAYER AND THE 1 Prayer and the School Setting PHI 200 Instructor Lisa Linkin May 11, 2012 Prayer and the School Setting Many students throughout the world carry on their daily tasks of going to school. They come home or to their dorms from the excessive day of learning and they may say a prayer or they may not. For the ones that do say a prayer, they may feel as if the prayer would have been better said during school at the time of a “stressful situation or test”. This was not the case because prayer is being banned from school. This topic has been a very hot one from the time of the first person speaking out against having prayer in the school setting even until now showing no signs of letting up. Why is it so bothersome? It stands to reason that the reason prayer in the school setting is such a rampant subject is because those on both sides of the situation have very strong and valid arguments. Every time there seems to be a sound solution, there is something else that challenges the peace the solution seemingly creates. When it comes to the issue of prayer being appropriate for the school setting there are those that say that it is not appropriate, those that agree that it is, and those willing to look for solutions to pacify both sides. To even come close to beginning to identify whether prayer is appropriate for school or not one must understand exactly what both these...

According to the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), “those solutions frequently failed in real-world healthcare environments, largely due to inconvenience.” The introduction of mobile computing technology in its infancy stage brought about cellphones and PDA’s which proved to be inconvenient as well. Departmentalization in Elementary School

...students have a different teacher in a different class that teaches each subject. The committee will also decide which teachers will be on teams together. The committee consists of an administrator, teacher, content specialist, counselor, and curriculum coordinator. Parent input should be considered when determining some aspects of organization strategies. School administrators and teachers inform students and parents about departmentalization. An informational letter is composed telling why departmentalization has been adopted, when it will begin, and how it will be organized. The parents are informed well in advance of the actual implementation. A web page can be designed where parents can go to stay informed and to post questions and concerns. Communication with parents happens in a consistent and timely manner. Questions and comments from parents are discussed and responses given quickly. Administrators and teachers should be prepared to answer questions and calm concerns of parents. Professional development and in-service is provided to all involved teachers and staff. A trial run is conducted during the last month of a school year, before full implementation happens the next school year. Transitioning to the next departmentalized grade will happen smoothly for students that already have been exposed to this type of organization. The teachers will be able to...
