Give Yourselves a round of applause . 3. MotivationAll, stand up. I want you to imagine that you’re in a five star hotel, sitting in one of their VIP tables. Now, observe their preparation and enjoy their service. What can you found in the table? How do they arrange the utensils?What are the table napkin folds they use that are familiar to you? B. Developmental Activities 1. PresentationThis morning, we are going to discuss all about the Table napkin folding. 2. Lesson ProperClass, I will Group you into six. This will be the group 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. I have here some strips / photocopied materials containing samples of napkin folds. All you have to do is to discuss what is on the photocopy while I am roaming around, checking and supervising your discussion. | -To be led by the assign assigned student-Good morning sir !. Stand up and cooperateOur lesson last meeting is all about table settings sir.There are three different types of tale setting sir, Family Style or English Style, Russian Style, Buffet Style.Family Style or English Style – This is an informal way of table setting wherein the foods are placed at the middle of the table.Russian Style - This is a formal way of table setting and serving. This is done in big and formal parties. In this style, a waiter or housemaid serves each dish to the person eating.Buffet Style - This style is used when there are many guests. Each one gets his own plate, fork, spoons and food to eat. After which she/he can sit in any place with the people he would like to eat with.ImaginingStates what in his/her imagination | SAMPLE FOLDS (WITH PICTURE IN EVERY STEP IN THE PHOTOCOPY) 1. PYRAMID NAPKIN FOLD steps1. Fold the napkin in half diagonally.2. Fold corners A and B to corner C to form a napkin diamond3. Turn the napkin over so it looks like a square standing on one of its corners (left to right).4. Fold the napkin in half again by folding the top corner down to the bottom corner. You already have pyramid napkin fold. 2. BIRD OF PARADISE NAPKIN FOLD1. Fold the napkin in half, and then half again horizontally. 2. The fold in half diagonally with points on the top and facing up.3. Fold left and right sides down along center line, turning their extended points under. 4. Fold points of bottom corners underneath and fold in half on long end 5. Pull up points and arrange fabric on a surface. You already have a bird of paradise napkin fold. 3. DIAMOND NAPKIN FOLD steps .1Lay the napkin face-down in front of you.2. Fold the napkin in half and orient the open end toward you.3. Fold the napkin into quarters. 4. Fold the top-most layer of the napkin in half diagonally up and to the left.5. Fold the next layer of napkin diagonally up and to the left, stopping slightly before the last fold to create an even, staggered effect. 6. Repeat by folding up the next layer of napkin to a point just before the last one.7. One last time with one last layer. Keep them as uniform as you can. 8. Now fold both sides of the napkin under and in to create an even, staggered diamond effect on the napkin. Press it down as flat as possible and you now have a diamond napkin fold. 4. ARROW NAPKIN FOLD STEPS1. Lay the napkin face-down in front of you. 2. Fold the napkin in half and orient the open end toward you.3. Fold the far-right corner over to the center of the side that is closes to you. The edge of this fold should run down the center of the napkin.4. Repeat the last step with the other side, folding the far-left corner in to rest alongside the previous fold. 5. Fold the right-flap out diagonally so that its outer edge runs even with the far edge of the napkin. 6. Repeat the previous step on the other side, folding the left-flap out diagonally to meet the far edge of the napkin. 7. Slide the left and the right sides together allowing the napkin to bend at the farthest point. Now, you have an arrow napkin fold. 4. CROWN NAPKIN FOLD STEPS1. Lay the napkin face-down in front of you. 2. Fold the napkin in half diagonally.3. Orient the napkin so the open ends are pointing away from you. 4. Fold the right-corner up so that the point rests directly on top of the middle-corner. The edge of this new flap should lay on the center line of the napkin. 5. Repeat step four on the other side, bringing the left-most corner up to meet the middle- corner, creating a diamond shape6. Fold the bottom of the napkin up about 2/4s of the way and press this fold down well.7. Fold the smaller triangle down so the point rests on the near edge of the napkin. Then press.8. Curl the left and right sides of the napkin up so they meet in the middle and tuck one into the other.9. Stand it up and tug at it where needed to even it up and round it out. You now have a crown napkin fold. 6 CONE NAPKIN FOLD STEPS 1. Lay the napkin face-down in front of you. 2. Fold the napkin in half diagonally.3. Orient the napkin so the open corner faces away from you. 4. Fold the left-most corner diagonally so the point rests on top of the far corner.5. Repeat the last step with the right side, bringing this fold evenly along to the last one 6. Turn the napkin over, keeping the open ends pointing away from you. 7. Evenly fold the bottom third of the napkin up and press it down well. 8. Fold both left and right sides back. You now have a diamond napkin fold. 7. BISHOP’S HATNAPKIN FOLD STEPS1. Fold napkin bringing top to bottom.2. Fold corners to center line. 3. Turn napkin over and rotate 1/4 turn. 4. Fold bottom edge up to top edge and flip point out from under top fold. 5. Turn left end into pleat at left forming a point on left side. 6. Turn the napkin over and turn right end into pleat forming a point on right side. 7. Open base and stand upright. Now you have a bishop’s hat napkin. 8. ROSE BUD NAPKIN FOLD STEPS1. Fold the napkin in half diagonally.2. Fold corners to meet at top point. 3. Turn napkin over and fold bottom 2/3 way up. 4. Turn napkin around and bring corners together, tucking one into the other. 5. Turn napkin around and stand on base. You already have a rose bud napkin fold. 9. ROSE NAPKIN FOLD STEPS1. Fold all 4 corners of open napkin to center. 2. Fold new corners again to center.3. Turn napkin over and fold all corners to center.4. Hold center firmly, reach each corner and pull up to form petals.5. Reach petals and pull flaps underneath. Now, you have a rose napkin. 10. STANDING FAN NAPKIN FOLD STEPS1. Lay the napkin face-down in front of you. 2. Fold the napkin in half diagonally and orient the open end towards you.3. Fold the napkin like an accordion starting at either narrow end. Leave one end with2-3 inches of unfolded napkin to support the standing fan. 4. Fold the napkin in half with the accordion folds on the outside.5. Grasp the unfolded corners where they meet on the open end and fold them in diagonally, tucking them under the accordion folds.6. Open it and stand it up. Now, you have a standing fan napkin. | IV. Evaluation : * In a ½ crosswise of pad paper. Enumerate at least 3 napkin folds and its steps. * Each group must have 2 participants who will perform 2 different folds within the range of 2 minutes. V. Assignment:Everyone must research at least 5 different napkin folds. , and be ready because I will point out 3 students who will perform in front. |
