A telecommunications service provider or TSP is a type of communications service provider that has traditionally provided telephone and similar services. This category includesincumbent local exchange carriers, competitive local exchange carriers, and mobile wireless communication companies. While some people use the terms "telecom service provider" and "communications service provider" interchangeably, the term TSP generally excludes Internet service providers(ISPs), cable companies, satellite TV, and managed service providers.
The need for ASPs has evolved from the increasing costs of specialized software that have far exceeded the price range of small to medium sized businesses. As well, the growing complexities of software have led to huge costs in distributing the software to end-users. Through ASPs, the complexities and costs of such software can be cut down. In addition, the issues of upgrading have been eliminated from the end-firm by placing the onus on the ASP to maintain up-to-date services, 24 x 7 technical support, physical and electronic security and in-built support for business continuity and flexible working.
The importance of this marketplace is reflected by its size. As of early 2003, estimates of the United States market range from 1.5 to 4 billion dollars. Clients for ASP services include businesses, government organizations, non-profits, and membership organizations

A Storage service provider (SSP) is any company that provides computer storage space and related management services. SSPs also offer periodic backup and archiving.
Advantages of managed storage are that more space can be ordered as required. Depending upon your SSP, backups may also be managed. Faster data access can be ordered as required. Also, maintenance costs may be reduced, particularly for larger organizations who store a large or increasing volumes of data. Another advantage is that best practices are likely to be followed. Disadvantages are that the cost may be prohibitive, for small organizations or individuals who deal with smaller amounts or static volumes of data and that there's less control of data systems.

An Internet service provider (ISP) is an organization that provides services for accessing, using, or participating in the Internet. Internet service providers may be organized in various forms, such as commercial, community-owned, non-profit, or otherwise privately owned.
Internet services typically provided by ISPs include Internet access, Internet transit, domain nameregistration, web hosting, colocation.

...to construct a presentation about a new drug that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. She has called the support desk regarding PowerPoint® and wants to know the main functions of this software. Susan’s gathered data includes graphs, videos, and statistics of the new drug. The first step I would take is to explain to Susan the basics of a PowerPoint presentation and give her the fundamental reasoning for using PowerPoint presentations in the business world, as well as other settings. I would expand on this by telling her why PowerPoint is a perfect method for explaining about the recent FDA drug approval. Since Susan has little to no experience using PowerPoint, there are some challenges that would have to be overcome. PowerPoint can look very complex if someone is not familiar with it. Having a guide to show its many features will help alleviate some stress. I would tell her about PowerPoint's ability to incorporate data, graphs, videos, images, and statistics. As a demonstration I would have her insert text and images to help her become comfortable with PowerPoint. After that, I would answer any questions she may have. After Susan finishes the practice presentation, I would have her send the results to my e-mail so I can see for myself how she is doing. When I have reviewed the presentation I would have her insert a video, add some speaker notes, and other add ins so I can get a handle on how well she is grasping the PowerPoint application. This...

...forth below.  Your task is to develop a professional, 10- to 15-minute (maximum) presentation dealing with investment in the technology area of your fund. Because the fund company is paying you "top dollar" to guide investment decisions, your boss expects your presentation to be "top quality." At a minimum, this means that your presentation will make use of computer presentation technology (PowerPoint slides and/or the Internet), appropriate handouts, etc., to present an overview of investment opportunities and strategy in your technology area. Remember, your presentation is to be directed at a fund manager who makes buy/sell decisions based on your recommendations, not at a class. This means that, although there are questions listed below to guide you, your presentation should not be a series of answers to the questions. Instead, it should be a professional presentation dealing with the knowledge and information needed to guide investment policy. Any presenter who makes a statement such as, "The second question we had to answer was ...," will earn a 10-point deduction for his/her team on this project. Deliverable: The team will prepare a 15 slide (max) PowerPoint presentation that emphasizes charts and graphs, keeping text to a minimum. A two-page (max) narrative will be prepared to accompany the slides. The narrative portion may be a Word document or you may utilize slide notes in PowerPoint. This deliverable will be attached and uploaded to a posting in the Discussion...

Mark Alford, Teresa M. DiMattia, Nancy T. Hill, and Kevin T. Stevens ABSTRACT: This series of four short cases is designed to help students develop the skills to research the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s (FASB) Accounting Standards Codification and other authoritative literature. It also is designed to help improve students’ ability to analyze and critique the complex issues that often surround the accounting for revenue recognition. The case scenarios describe transactions in which students must decide whether, when, and how much revenue to recognize. The issues analyzed involve bill-and-hold, multiple-element arrangements, gross versus net revenue reporting, and sales incentives. The cases are also designed to improve teamwork and communication skills. The sequence of cases is intended for use in an intermediate accounting class that covers revenue recognition, or in a capstone class that emphasizes critical thinking and research skills. Keywords: revenue; recognition; codification; research. INTRODUCTION evenue recognition is one of the top causes for financial statement restatements (Whitehouse 2010). In addition, revenue recognition is an area commonly questioned by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) staff in their review of public filings and resultant comment...
