Subject: Principles of Accounts

Start with a clean board. There was information on the chalkboard that was irrelevant to the lesson.

You could have used the time spent waiting to begin the class, to write objectives on the board and even to start the note that was written on the board.

There was no heading given for the note written on the board?
Some more examples should be given and extracted from students on 'assets, debtors, creditors ....and these could be written on the board
There was good use of a specific example of a business. Reference could be made to that business during the lesson.

The information written on the board could have been presented in a tabular format under the heading of 'Classifications of Accounts'. There could be two columns.
'Account type'. 'Examples'

Several examples of each type could then be given.

Puzzle Activity - groups

The white board should have the headings so that the worked exercise could be written for correction. Students will be able to copy the information so that they will have it for review.

There is the need to use reminders e.g., creditors and debtors

Exercise 2

The same principle should apply where the skeleton is on the board for correction and the answers are noted for students to copy.

In defense of CXC, they do not 'fool' students/candidates. On the contrary CXC is very candidate friendly and many opportunities are created for earning marks. Teachers are expected to be more exacting in their marking when preparing students to write examinations.

While you wait on the bell recall objectives and if they were originally written on the board, that would have been much easier to facilitate the process. Generally, the lesson was well presented. I trust that you will continue to plan and present in-keeping with the guidelines outlined.

Practicum Report

...The practicum report is an integral part of the Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management (BSHRM) of the Dominican College of Tarlac (DCT). It is intended to provide students learning experiences and the application of knowledge and skills in hospitality industry settings. The practicum is a co-operative education which aims to achieve an effective blend of classroom study and off-campus work experience in hospitality-related industry. The goal of the practicum is to prepare the student for competent and responsible practice. A successful practicum is one that achieves that goal. The BSHRM of the Dominican College of Tarlac considers the practicum training to be among the most important professional preparation activities in which BSHRM students participate. Practicum experiences are intended to allow students to synthesize, apply and refine knowledge and skills learned in their academic experiences. In addition, practicum experiences are one of the primary ways in which department faculty members can observe and evaluate the skills of the student. Because of the importance of students’ practicum, the Department requires the student-trainee to prepare a narrative report of his practicum experiences in hospitality industry. Practicum Action

...Practicum Action EDA 577 November 26, 2014 According to state assessments for the past five years the results indicates a minimal academic progress with our ELL students. Our ELL population scores have been detrimental to our annual yearly progress year after year. Not only have our ELL students have shown slow growth academically but also have shown very slow acquisition of the English language. It is fundamentally necessary that a school improvement plan is put place so that the administrator and the collaboration of all stakeholders can implement skills and strategies that will promote the academic achievement of our ELL students. Background: Cesar Chavez Elementary is located in the southwest corner of Arizona in the town of San Luis, Arizona. The community of San Luis a border city with its sister city of San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora. In this community is 97% Spanish speaking. Cesar Chavez Elementary services 789 students with a 42% ELL population. Our school like any other school in Arizona is under a mandate that all ELL students are required to have a four block of English instruction. This mandate might be beneficial in other schools. In our school we have ELL classrooms with an average of 33 students per classroom. Our school is a title I school which receives funds from the federal government. Practicum Observation

...Good Afternoon Beverly, Thank you for your comments and kind words. I greatly appreciate them. As I read your comments “…it all comes down to the individual needs of the student and how well the teacher has gotten to know and understand their needs. This is a recurring theme when we discuss goals and strategies for teaching students anything really. I do understand that. I think it is true and important. The more we know what our students need and what they respond best to, the better we can help them.” It reminded of discussion and observation I was blessed to have last GCU class module (Practicum Observation) with a group of special education teachers. This group of teachers, who worked in the Resource Room where I observed students with Learning Disabilities (LDs), would meet at the beginning of each week and discuss the not just the lesson plans for the upcoming week but the progress of each of their students, how they are progressing toward their specific designed academic goals and if they (as a teaching team) needed to modify or change it to help the student attain those goals. The other thing I found interesting and beneficial to my learning experience is that this group of educators also discussed any social or adaptive skill issues any of their students may be having and what strategies they can use to help their students overcome them. For me what was really rewarding about this (being a newbie to the educational field) I was able to watch...

...BACKGROUND OF THE COMPANY At the heart of Quezon City, at the place where leisure and business converge, stands a hotel unlike any other. Like a drop of water in the urban desert it refreshes with its sleek, modern design — paying homage to contemporary art as it welcomes guests into its delightful interiors. Here, much work gets done. Here, families enjoy a vacation within the city sprawl. Aptly named, one can indulge in unique ways at the Luxent Hotel. Classic and elegant. These are the first words that come to mind as you take in the beautiful facade of the Luxent. At 14-storeys tall, the hotel presents itself as the perfect venue for business mixed with a fair share of leisure. The Luxent satisfies guests on all fronts, right from the massive glass entrance to the high-ceiling lobby. Modern art hangs from the walls and also within the lobby, and the Lush Bar & Lobby Lounge warmly welcomes you to a cup of coffee or tea along with a snack or full meal. Further, an inner vestibule — a circular array of pillars and light — greets guests just before they enter the elevators to their rooms. Another dining option, the Garden Café, lies right beside it offering numerous buffet meals for businesspeople on the go or casual guests. Two VIP rooms can be used for private dining or meetings. All of this is but a sign of what you can expect with your stay at the Luxent. Melanie Siy-Pagkalinawan, general manager, says without any doubt, “Luxent is the best hotel in Quezon City — and...
