Navigation System Price Analysis

...Navigation System Price Analysis Strayer University BUS315 Cost and Price Analysis Professor Stephen Bartorillo May 4, 2015 Price Analysis The primary costs being considered by Bickham Services Unlimited for the pricing strategy of the HSNS-P1 is the cost of manufacturing. In our case the cost of manufacturing is very high because the raw materials required, such as the unmanned, manned systems, aircrafts, space systems and other technological materials required, are too expensive. Also we need highly skilled and technical professionals for the manufacturing process to be directly involved in monitoring and manufacturing the system. The administrative cost are the most important expense because it aids the production of the drone navigation system as it covers the extra costs that come up. Consideration of our products cost will be essential for effective pricing. Inventory evaluation has to be made in order to determine the required inventory needed for manufacturing the HSNS-P1 unit. Unit costing will aid in the determination of appropriate cost of the final product (April 30, 2015, blog.cordiars.website). Transportation costs of the required raw materials will be included in the pricing. This is because we will need to import some highly sensitive materials for the manufacturing process. The price analysis was conducted based on: * Competitive proposals where price is not part of the proposal * Small purchase with documented published price lists from selected...

With the issues of agriculture, Monsanto is working to produce more, conserve more, and improving lives (Monsanto, 2014). As the world’s population grows and not enough of land suitable for agriculture, farmers must produce more. Farmer’s crops yield more, and are reducing water, nutrients, and energy by using the Monsanto seeds. Monsanto creates genetically modified seeds in labs, by taking two good parents and breeds them to produce an offspring plant that is suitable for a certain agricultural area. With manufacturing plants, seed production facilities, and research centers scattered around the world, Monsanto distribution channels are focused around the geographic area near these facilities. Monsanto produces the seeds in their plants and must produce and distribute enough to meet the weekly high demands of farmers. With the precise timing the production and distribution plans due to the high demand, make for a more credible business approach. Culinarian Price Pondering Case Analysis

...Pondering Price Promotion On November 6, 2006, the vice president of marketing of Culinarian Cookware (Culinarian), Donald Janus, and the senior sales manager, Victoria Brown, met to discuss whether or not the company should offer a price promotion for the company’s line of premium cookware in the coming year. These two executives had very different views on the value of a price promotion and the role it could play in the company’s marketing strategy. Janus expressed his opinion first: Brown knew that Janus was determined above all else that Culinarian should remain known as a high-quality product and an elite brand—“an American icon” was Janus’s term—and that all good things would flow from that status. He grew wary when he perceived, rightly or wrongly, a hint of a threat to that status. Still, Brown was obliged to be candid. She said: Do No I believe we need to be bolder with our price promotions. The number one complaint that my sale force hears from the trade accounts is the lack of consistent and meaningful price discount events. Providing a 30% discount promotion will increase commitment and support from the trade and will boost our overall brand awareness. It’ll also provide us with new customers who would otherwise not purchase because they feel the suggested retail is too high and encourage current customers to immediately purchase additional pieces. And yes, I think if the data in the consulting study is re-examined, you’ll see the 2004 price promotion...

Regression Analysis for Determining the Price of Alcan Stock

...Regression Analysis for Determining the Price of Alcan Stock [pic] Jason Scott May 1, 2006 Introduction In this project, we have developed a model using stepwise regression to predict the price of Alcan’s stock, based on the impact of eight independent variables on the price of Alcan’s stock. The company’s stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol AL. Of the eight variables we will be looking at, we are most interested in the impact that the price of aluminum has on Alcan’s stock. Alcan is the second largest producer of aluminum in the world, and may be one of the purest plays on aluminum, given that Alcan spent the mid 1990’s spinning off all operations not involved with the production of aluminum. If any company would reflect the impact of the change in aluminum prices, it would be Alcan. Additionally, we have a keen interest in this field as both of us are employees of a company recently spun-off from Alcan. The eight independent variables that we chose for our analysis, and our reasons for choosing them, are detailed below. Definition of Variables Dependant Variable Alcan (ALCAN) The dependent variable for our model is the monthly stock price of Alcan. Alcan is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol AL. The stock price is collected daily and these daily numbers are averaged together to give one monthly value. We have collected the monthly...

...involved in the active conversion of materials into finished products. Indirect labor cost would include production supervisor, purchasing staff, materials handling staff and materials management staff. The cost of both types of indirect labor can be fully loaded with the costs of benefits and payroll taxes for financial analysis or cost accounting purposes, since these additional costs are closely associated with the indirect labor positions (Adams, 2014). Direct material cost is the cost of important materials that are used in the manufacture of a product or used in providing a service. Cocoa Price Analysis

...Price of cocoa What are the drivers that increase the price of cocoa? 1.1. The demand The demand growth for chocolate increases the price of cocoa, which is chocolate's main ingredient. Demand for chocolate increased by 20% between 2002 and 2011, as measured by chocolate product consumption (ICCO cocoa market review Jan 2012). Increased standard of living in India and China is increasing the demand for chocolate products, which used to be considered an elite luxury item. The massive population in these countries is driving up the demand for chocolate and increase the price of cocoa. Between the years 2002 and 2012 the growth of consumption of chocolate products has been varying between 15 – 20 per cent annually. 1.2. Status in Africa The general world’s and UN’s attention is targeting to act against child slavery and general working conditions in African nations. The recent examples from West Africa are suggesting the situation is improving, but Ivory Coast example from 2009-2010 demonstrates the fact that the majority of world’s cocoa is produced in unstably ran nations where human rights are not respected and general stability is poor. When workers in Africa will receive proper wages and working conditions, African production costs will increase, and raise cocoa prices. 2.13 Crop and Harvest The crops which are smaller than expected in cocoa producing countries will lower the supply of chocolate. World chocolate consumption is increasing, so the price of cocoa...

Analysis of Price and Quantity of Garlic

...Association, the price of garlic has increased drastically to RM 8-9 from RM3 per kg in Penang and RM 8-9 from RM 4 per kg in Klang Valley. The cause of shortage of supply is mainly due to the bad weather in China. There has been a drop of 30% in production of garlics in China. Many suppliers in Malaysia would stop importing garlics from China as the price was increasing rapidly around that time. Therefore, they would rather wait until the price back to normal before importing again. Furthermore, they need to set up some new facilities to maintain the freshness of garlic during the period of limited supply of garlic which also increase the input cost. Introduction A rise in the price of goods will affect the quantity demanded of goods in the market. Quantity demanded is the amount of a good that buyers are willing and able to purchase. Also, the law of demand claims that, other things equal, the quantity demanded of a good falls when the price of the good rises. So, when the price of the good itself varies, the demand will not shift in a parallel manner, yet it shifts along the demand curve. Besides, a curve shifts when there is a change in a relevant variable that is not measured on either axis. For example, a bad weather can cause a reduction in supply of goods to suppliers. This can lead to a decrease in supply. Therefore, it shifts leftward, leading to a rise in price. Analysis For example, the price of the garlic...
