Product Line – Length: misalnya Produk Lifebuoy.

Product Line – Depth: Misalnya Produk Lifebuoy.

Heinz Pricing the Product Line

...food products portfolio. The company owned 15 brands which generated revenue of more than US $100 million in sales. The ketchup generated 30% of sales revenue. The ketchup was served with American favourites such as hamburgers, hot dogs and French fries. It was distributed across the globe and mainly in U.S. through all major grocery retailers. ISSUES The threat by the retailers loomed large in front of Heinz and it faced the issue on how to increase the net sales of the Heinz ketchup and how to increase the profits. The issues which the company faced are as follows: • The reduced shelf space because of the display of the retailer products • Impact on the prices of the Heinz ketchup because of increase in the prices of oil and natural gases • Slow growth of the sales of the ketchup • The market was saturated and the category was matured • Competition by the Private labels of the retailers • Constant pressure to offer trade deals to the retailers since the retailers needed to be motivated to sell Heinz products. They instead made better margins by selling their own private labels • Heavy expenses being incurred on promotions • Cutting down margins so as to enable higher sales volume • Customer expectations for promotional sales of the ketchup Even though Heinz Ketchup is the market leader in sales, they still face many issues. One of them is to make sure retailers are still promoting the product in order...

As of 2011 Americans consumed approximately 400 million cups of coffee per day, which is equal to about 146 billion cup of coffee per year. When put into the perspective of caffeine coffee represents 75% of all the caffeine consumed in the United States. While there are several different species of different coffee plants the two main species of coffee that are cultivated today are Arabica and Robusta coffee beans. Coffea Arabica also known as Arabica coffee accounts for approx. 75-80% of the current world’s production coffee. Coffea canephora also know as Robusta coffee currently accounts for 20% of all production in the world (Coffee Statistics, 2011). The specific café that Roasted Delivery chooses around the coffee industry was Starbuck. MISSION AND STRATEGY OVERVIEW Starbucks was first opened in 1971 as a single store in the Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. ...various types of routing problerns,These tools are used to prepare input data, solve the routing problem, and provide tabular and graphical output of the resulting routes and vehicle schedules. The starting points for each route (such as the warehouse in the above example) are known as depots, and the points to be visited are known as stops. A vehicle route starts at a depot, visits one ormore stops, and may or may not return to the depot. The goal of the procedure is to obtain a set of routes that minimizes the total time or discance traveled by the entire fleet of vehicles. The travel times or distances are stored in the vehicle routing matrix. You can use a network to calculate the network driving time or distance, or you can use straight line distances to create your vehicle routing matrix. You must use a network-based vehicle routing matrix if you want to display the routes on a map as a route system layer.Time window- There are time restrictions on when deliveries can be made to some or all of the stores Each stop requires a certain amount of time to service. The service time can have a fixed component and a variable component that is demand dependent (time per unit). In most cases, each stop has a fixed service time that is independent of demand, variable service time that depends upon the demand at that stop. The amount of time it takes to service a stop is as follows: service time = (fixed time) * (number of units) *(time per unit). To Set Up Depots and Stops for Vehicle...

...financing plan prepared by the chief financial officer. Given the cyclicality of the industry and the volatility of the firm's performance, the CEO is unsure as to the usefulness of forecasts based on straight line extrapolation of rapid sales growth and stable relationships of profits and assets to sales. Recommendation Science Technology Company (STC) should not discuss the current 5-year financing plan prepared by Harry Finson, the chief financial officer, at the forthcoming board meeting. The industry that STC is in has short product life cycle, rapid technology obsolescence and fast growth with increasing competition. In fact, STC's strategy to survive the competition is to maintain leadership in ATE segment and to further compete in the large scale integrated (VLSI) circuits segment by chasing market share and spreading high R&D cost over large sales. However, the large sales growth seems to be more difficult to obtain with the newly added competition. Based on historical trend, level of competition, and other related industry figures; Given the level of uncertainty in the market and the emerging markets of Japan and Korea it will not be viable to discuss the future projection beyond 2 years. With the dynamic nature of the market and the product type constant up gradation and R&D requirements, a growth rate projection based on 30% annual increase is unrealistic. A more reasonable growth rate of 10-11% is more appropriate in order to make future projections...

...problem might begin when we gave you the coordinates of three points in the coordinate plane, A=(2,1); B=(5,6) and C= (9,-1). Among the myriad things we might have asked you to do with this given information would be two that are easily answered by the methods of determinants; “Find the area of the triangle formed?” and “Prove that the three points are, or are not, collinear (lie on the same line).” Finding the area of a triangle If you had not had the benefit of an introduction to determinants, you might have to resort to something like the following to find area. Taking the points in pairs we could find the length of each segment, ([pic], [pic], and [pic]) and then employing the well known formula of Heron (you do remember Heron’s Formula, don’t you?) to find the area. We would arrive at an area of 20.5 square units. But now that you know how to evaluate the determinant of a matrix, we can instead just enter the x values of each point as one column of the matrix, enter the y values as a second column, and add a third column of all ones (someday I will explain about cross products of vectors and this third column will seem more clear). We get the matrix shown at right. And if we evaluate the determinant of the...

...CHAPTER SIX Coordinate Geometry Coordinate geometry is geometry done in the number plane, using algebra. • Points are represented by pairs of numbers, and lines by linear equations. • Circles, parabolas and other curves are represented by non-linear equations. Points, lines and intervals are the main topics of this chapter. 6 A Lengths and Midpoints of Intervals An interval is completely determined by its two endpoints. There are simple formulae for the length of an interval and for the midpoint of an interval. The Distance Formula: The formula for the length of an inter- y val P Q is just Pythagoras’ theorem in different notation. Let P (x1 , y1 ) and Q(x2 , y2 ) be two points in the plane. Construct the right-angled triangle P QA, where A(x2 , y1 ) lies level with P and vertically above or below Q. Then P A = |x2 − x1 | and QA = |y2 − y1 |, and so by Pythagoras’ theorem in P QA, Q(x2,y2) y2 y1 P(x1,y1) x1 A x2 x P Q2 = (x2 − x1 )2 + (y2 − y1 )2 . DISTANCE FORMULA: Let P (x1 , y1 ) and Q(x2 , y2 ) be two points in the plane. Then 1 P Q2 = (x2 − x1 )2 + (y2 − y1 )2 . • First find the square P Q2 of the distance. • Then take the square root to find the distance P Q. WORKED EXERCISE: Find the lengths of the sides AB and AC of the triangle with vertices A(1, −2), B(−4, 2), and C(5, −7), and hence show that ABC is isosceles. SOLUTION: First, AB 2 = (x2 − x1 )2 + (y2 − y1 )2 2 so = − 4 − 1 + 2 − (−2) = (−5)2 +...

Key work steps Since M= y2-y1/x2-x1 then M= 216,000-228,000/2.0-1.0 M=-12,000/2.0-1.0 M=-12,000/1.0 M=-12,000 1c. Answer: Y= (-12,000)*x+240,000 1c. Key work steps Since Y=mx+b then and do figure m we use the formula m= (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) I know now what m is in my equation in this situation it’s -12,000 and to figure b is just the Y intercept which in this case is 240,000. So I get my linear equation Y= (-12,000)*x+240,000. 1d. Answer: $126.000 1d. Key work steps Now if this depreciation were to continue until 2019 then we use our formula to determine the value of the plane. Y=(-12,000)*x+240,000 now x is the number of years from the end of our graphing years which was half way through 2009. So in this case x will = 9.5 years now to plug this in. Y=(-12,000)*9.5+240,000 Y=114,000+240,000 Y= $126,000 2a. Answer: L=w-5 2a. Key work steps 2b. Answer: Width= 22.5 inches, Length is 17.5 inches 2b.
