Military recruiting in public schools

Military recruitment has become an important issue. Often in the past some parents and teachers have protested about military personnel visiting schools to talk to students about the armed forces. But since 2001 the No Child Left behind Act has meant that US schools which receive government money must allow the military in to talk to students (Paton). One of the more common proposals is to ban military recruiting of those that are under 18, which would severely limit the ability of recruiters to operate. In the past years the USA and its allies have been involved in major conflicts. There are a lot questions and conflicts with this issue. The positive outcomes of recruitment will be strongly discussed. Do military recruiters provide valuable info? Some might say the military brain washes young kids, but in reality they train and prepare them for serious situations. I personally spent 4 years active duty in the United States Navy, I learned a lot and with that came tons of responsibility I acquired. It wasn't the easiest choice I made but it was time well spent. After serving 4 years honorable I received 100% on school tuition. Some kids like myself didn't have the parents to afford college or provide the right steps to get into college. Therefore the military can be a great career, you receive excellent pay and great job opportunity's. Another perk that the military offers is professional appearance and attitude, something that some civilians don't get with the job-force or college. American society should be proud of young adults choosing to serve there country, its the people who choose to fight is what keeps us free and safe at

This paper will address the history of the American with Disabilities Act and Affirmative Action along with the pros and cons associated with each act. Americans with Disabilities Act The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was passed into law in 1990 and prohibits employers and universities from discriminating against individuals with disabilities. The act also requires institutions to make reasonable accommodations at the request of the disabled employee or student. Requests that place "undue hardship" on institutions are exempt from the law; institutions are not legally required to comply.
