...Relationship Characteristics Jenna ZIngarelli PSY220 5/8/13 I have chosen to write about my relationship with my closest and dearest friend, Jessalyn. She has been a solid foundation for me since I met her a little over a year ago. In learning about the key defining characteristics, I can tell you first hand that she defines every one of them for me. Not only is she an immensely forth-coming, but she has lots of knowledge about me and my day-to-day life as well. She has made me feel extremely comfortable sharing with her almost anything, when it comes to my deepest feelings, to what I had for breakfast that morning. We share everything and that connection is something I haven’t experienced in a friendship before. I trust her without a doubt, more than anyone else before her. We confide in each other, and are confident that the things that we share are shared with no one else outside of each other. She has shown so much genuine care and concern for my well-being, that it’s a great pleasure to have a friendship where I feel like someone legitimately cares about my life, and the trials and tribulations that seem to come and go. Jessalyn and I share a interdependence, or a connection of the two of our lives, and we practically do everything together. We are happiest when we go out the two of us, and we have absolutely just as much fun eating ice cream and watching movies. ...Changing Perspectives: A New Outlook Margaret Williams PSY220 June 5, 2011 Amy Hennings The journey one takes through life necessitates change, for without it one is not able to grow and gain new awakenings. The process of change is an inevitable part of life brought about through maturity, gained knowledge, and discovering one self. An individual may have what he or she feels is a sound perspective about any number of circumstances or situations. However, as information and knowledge of the cause of such situations are revealed, the individual may have a change in perspective and develop an entirely different outlook. A situation that comes to mind more than once is the decision made by many women facing unexpected pregnancies to get an abortion. Putting this in perspective, this woman may be judged as morally wrong and often referred to as a “murderer” as a result of her decision to terminate the unwanted pregnancy, especially by those who oppose abortion for any reason at all. However, there are also those who believe it is the right of the young woman to make that decision whatever the reason may be. Let us consider the following scenario: a young girl is sexually molested by young man she has only just met. As a result, she becomes pregnant. The young girl feels as though she is not ready for the responsibilities of parenthood and makes the choice to have an abortion.
