Push ups engage a large amount of muscles in the upper abdomen region. The following muscles are used when an individual engages in push ups: Pectoral muscles, Triceps or the back of the arm, Biceps or the front of the arm, front and rear heads of the Deltoids, Rhomboids, and the Latissimus Dorsi. Push ups are power moves that not only trains the recently listed muscles, push ups also strengthens your overall core muscles. For the Lab Activity 5-1, which is the Push-Ups; I began with the standard push-up position with the weight supported on the hands and knees, with trunk and back straight. As I was doing the push up test I was lowering my chest to touch my partner’s fists. After completing the push-up test, I had consecutively done 32 correct push-ups. On the Lab Activity 5-2, I assumed a supine position on the floor with my knees at 90 degrees. My arms were at my side on the floor and I put a marker 10 centimeters from where my hands could reach before I started the curl-up.
