The Whirlpool Corporation is a leading manufacturer in the home appliance market. With many appliance brands falling beneath its umbrella, the Whirlpool Corporation provides appliances to many charities in the form of donations. The Whirlpool Corporation’s commitment to the communities in which they operate and its employees live, dates back over 100 years ago when the company first began. The Whirlpool Corporation can realize greater employee morale, corporate morale and productivity if it can effectively utilize customers as motivators. One of Whirlpool's worst performing Business segments, Asia, specifically India, has a demographic where there is an incredible divide between poor and rich. According to CNN, "The country has 18 percent of the world's population but only 4 percent of the world's renewable water sources, and demand is growing" with about 100,000 people living in New Delhi's outskirts. Many of them have never had water piped into their homes, mostly relying on water wells. A simple video of these new customers from underdeveloped regions receiving their first appliance would create pride in Whirlpool’s employees. The employees could see first-hand how its products are truly changing the lives of the people from these regions. A worker in the Whirlpool factory can connect their daily job of assembling parts to someone’s face and realize Whirlpool is not only affecting the lives of these people but they are changing the quality of life for these families.
The Whirlpool Corporation collects customer data at the time of purchase and when the customer utilizes its repair department. Since The Whirlpool Corporation has been in business for over one-hundred years it should have a substantial amount of data on past and present sales as well as sales in progress.
