The ground breaking technological advancements of today is allowing the average consumer to watch streaming videos; the technologies have come to the front from companies such as Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent. These technologies will continue to amaze and amuse us like rides at an amusement park.

Compare and Contrast 3G Wireless Networks to 4G Networks
The comparisons and contrasts are laid out on blueprint papers and networks architectural layers in terms of services and applications, data throughput, and the end users perceptions. The differences in network architectural layout has its contrasts between the 3G and 4G networks, 3G networks are compiled of 1xrtt networks, CDMA 2000, along with the edge network. This observation comparison of the 4G network contrasts itself above the 3G network by increased data speeds, based on the network architectural cable wiring of the 3G network, and the fiber optic glass like tubes of a 4G network carrying thousands more data packets a second. The 4G networks, LTE, and LTE-advanced, WiMax2, advance themselves beyond the 3G networks, it’s like comparing and contrasting dial up speeds to high internet speeds at this point. The services and applications entertainment would start with3G attractions, mobile applications, streaming video and data applications became main-stream. (Smartphone 3G and 4G technology, heading paragraph: 4G: Up to 1Gbps.) With this 3G attraction there were mobile applications, and video content that required quicker bandwidth speeds. The 4G bandwidth would be at a different radio frequency versus the current radio frequency being offered on the 3G main attraction at the same preverbal application amusement park. The 4G main attraction would be its offering of higher bandwidth speeds, that would now take this video and data content offering that the 3G network started with, and take the video and data content to a non-buffering high definition experience. Beyond the main attractions of the two networks, there would be would be differences between the 3G and 4G architectural networks, and how data content reached a consumers phone on the 3G network versus the 4G network content accelerating itself to the consumers phone. One of the main differences of the 4G network would be its packet switched multi-casting technology in which data is communicated from cell tower span to cell tower span, and all the local area networks within the network are linked by fiber-optics. The 3G network of course would now become the red headed step child of the 4G network, because the 3G data content would be circuit switched and packet switched through the network switching centers. The real time data of course that reached the consumers cellular devices would come down to western style proverbial gun show, based on how fast the data content would get to a phone from either the 3G networks versus the 4G long term evolution networks. The consumers of today want know who would win the proverbial gun show, based on actual data speeds they are getting on their cellular devices. The true consumer perceptive data testing can done on their own cellular devices with 3G technology and 4g technological cellular devices , to see how fast they can down load applications, and how video content can be viewed , there are differences of course. The difference of course can be seen and viewed with the naked eye by consumers, 3G speeds hoover around 700kbps to 1.5mbps, and the buffering that happens when viewing video content on websites can be frustrating. That frustration of course would be short lived, the buffering of video content which is still being viewed by the naked eye is over, the 4G LTE networks have brought to life real streaming and video content to a consumer near you, with the average data speeds of 3-10mbps. (What is the relative bandwidth of 3G, 4G, and Wifi? 5th paragraph down, November 11, 2010 • by Practical ecommerce Staff.)
Distinguish between the 4G LTE, 4G WiMax, and 4G WiBro Networks?
The distinguishing differences of the 4G networks has given us a buffet of network choices for us, like myself and you as the reader, they are as follows:
The 4G networks as follows: 4G LTE, 4G WiMax, and 4G WiBro. The LTE or long term evolution network first inception happened on the Verizon Wireless network, starting in the year two-thousand and ten, on the tenth day of December. The official roll of the LTE network would cover more than “237.5 million people” across the network, this would be one of the largest upgrade done on a telecommunications network since the inception of the 3G network.
(Facts about Verizon Wireless' fourth generation (4G) Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, 1st bullet point, new center, LTE information center.) The 4G LTE network rollout on the Verizon Wireless network would now offer “upload and download speeds of 10 mbps, according to CEO Lowell McAdam.” (January 8, 2013 5:08 PM, Author: Devindra Hardawar, CES 2013, 3RD paragraph.) The consumer these days either has a 4G mobile technological advanced device or is planning on buying one soon to be able to enjoy the blazing fast network LTE technological advanced networks. There are a lot of 4G devices that are backwards compatible with the 3G network cell towers. The similarities will continue to compare and contrast one another, the LTE technology will also be, backwards compatible with the LTE advanced network roll out as well. Meaning there would be no bearing on existing on existing routers or switches, when the roll out of LTE advanced, LTE will be backwards compatible according to Ericsson research that has been done. (II. REQUIREMENTS, LTE advanced –Evolving LTE towards IMT –Advanced.) The LTE technology is also backwards compatible with the other networks, which would be HSPA and GSM as well. The contrast of LTE would be would be the 4G WiMax standard, which runs off an 802.16 technology standard; the Sprint telecommunications carrier would be the network to implement WiMax. The 802.16d standard WiMax, tests have shown that WiMax speeds have shown that it can provide data rates of up to 70Mbps.The WiMax technology would go through a technology upgrade to 802.16e, this would have a slight data increase up to 75Mbps, and would be backwards compatible with WiMax 802.16d. (Page 56, JOURNAL OF COMMUNICATIONS, VOL. 3, NO. 2, APRIL 2008, 5th paragraph, B.Mac Sub Layer.) Like the similarities of the LTE network, the WiMax network is backwards compatible with the existing 3G networks. With the similar LTE technology, other countries like South Korea telecommunications has incorporated a technology called 4G WiBro network. “The South Korean government on April 10, 2012 will roll out the WiBro network, the speed comparison has been compared to the LTE, and WiBro technology is supposed to be twice as fast.” (Competition for 4G WiBro network, Posted: April 23, 2012.) The current WiBro speed test results are at 40Mbps. (March 2, 2011, 1st paragraph.) Even though WiBro is a great technology, the WiMax network designers and engineers avoid the WiBro technology like the plague.
The Competition between the 4G LTE Carriers
Thee major technology has hit the market like a plague, it’s the optimum choices that consumers are given by the vast buffet of cellular devices, and intense marketing done by cellular networks that they are fastest data network providers. Really, the competition is only as good network that stands behind the cellular device that is in the palm of the hand of the consumer.
The other factors that are driving the competition is the FCC or federal communications commission, and its industry telecommunications standards that are being politically and policy driven. The ability to be driven by the FCC and still contrast and compare network provider to provider creates more competition by providers to improve. The competition will still be ongoing like amusement park rides, rides that increase in speed, and loop to loop the consumer upside down until the adrenal rush has been meeting. The LTE networks will continue to increase the adrenal rush, the demand, the benefits consumers are looking for, price driven marketing, until all consumers demands are meet; or will demands subside ever.

Verizon and AT&T’s Markets

The official roll of the LTE network would cover more than “237.5 million people” across the Verizon Wireless network, starting in the year two-thousand and ten, on the tenth day of December. The comparisons of the data network speeds hands down belonged to Verizon Wireless now. This would be short-lived; AT&T’s network would introduce LTE technology on their network a year after Verizon Wireless did.
The consumer of today can now watch streaming high definition video and use mobile data applications, just like on a computer that is connected to a high speed internet connection. The blazing speeds of today will only be yesterday’s technology, and the ground breaking technologies of Ericsson, and Alcatel-Lucent, will then drastically change revolution and contrast today’s technology.
