Career Plan Building Activity: Reasoning Aptitude Cooperating was my strongest selection from my Reasoning Aptitude. In working for one of the largest businesses in the world, respect for other co-workers views is critical in day to day operations. My individual thinking style has morphed many times in my career and still changes at times depending on the event or situation. I believe that the “Cooperating Aptitude” allows a quick and informed decision on most processes. I do not have many arguments within my daily operations due to the fact that I listen to others or at least care enough about co-workers to know how they think or perform. Sticking to ethics and values is fairly easy for an old Soldier. Our Army values are leadership, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage and most of us mature folks try to live by these on and off duty. By promoting and defending equal opportunity and holding all of my Soldiers responsible for their actions and setting the example for others to follow are key to being an effective leader. Persuasive communication is a very useful tool for me. Most of my persuasive communication comes when there is a mission or task that comes up that is tough or redundant and no one wants to perform. I do not always have time to plead or ask several times to complete the mission or task, but through previous performances and being a leader in my field, the Soldiers know that they are not being given this task unnecessarily. It is for a purpose. I scored lower on topics which I want to gain some ground in: “Taking Initiative” and “Organizing”. I feel that I take initiative at every chance; however, the exercise did not score me very high in this so improvement will be underway.

Reasoning Aptitude

...Reasoning Aptitude The career plan building activities involved responding to a series of questions related to identifying competencies, the ideal work environment, and reasoning aptitude. The most recent activity dealt with the reasoning. Based on the understanding of the results, I fell in the medium profile range indicating I am best suited for careers that use both cognitive abilities and practical skills. Further, the results suggested I prefer practical work, analytical work, or careers that combine practical skills and thinking. After completing the reasoning exercise, “My Career Plan” section included another tab labeled “Opportunities,” which I am not sure if it is directly related to the reasoning results or a byproduct of the results that was added to the competencies segment. The “Opportunities” section revealed additional scored competencies and suggested ways to improve, such as adapting to change, persuading, and networking to include relevant activities to conduct. The results revealed that my individual thinking styles centers on logical and practical thinking, which I find myself using most of the time instead of other styles like creative and relational. Thus far in fusing the entire career building exercises together, I have become more aware of my core competencies, often used thinking styles, and identified my preferred work culture preferences. Through the career planning exercises and the results it has helped me to understand how work is done in......

...Aptitude From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search For the Debian software, see Aptitude (software). An aptitude is a component of a competency to do a certain kind of work at a certain level, which can also be considered "talent". Aptitudes may be physical or mental. Aptitude is not knowledge, understanding, learned or acquired abilities (skills) or attitude. The innate nature of aptitude is in contrast to achievement, which represents knowledge or ability that is gained.[1] Contents [hide] 1 Intelligence 2 Combined aptitude and knowledge tests 3 See also 4 References Intelligence[edit] Aptitude and intelligence quotient are related, and in some ways opposite views of human mental ability. Whereas intelligence quotient sees intelligence as being a single measurable characteristic affecting all mental ability, aptitude refers to one of many different characteristics which can be independent of each other, such as aptitude for military flight, air traffic control, or computer programming.[2] This is more similar to the theory of multiple intelligences. Concerning a single measurable characteristic affecting all mental ability, analysis of any group of intelligence test scores will nearly always show them to be highly correlated. The U.S. Department of Labor's General Learning Ability, for instance, is determined by combining Verbal, Numerical and Spatial aptitude subtests. In a given person some are......
