1. Inhoud

Verantwoording:

4. Studiebelasting

Totale studiebelasting per student is 84 uren. [3 studiepunten]

Colleges: 14 * 1,33 = 19 uur

7. Competenties (en beroepsproducten)

Kennis

Learner Diversity and Inclusion

It may include errors and / or omissions. Interested readers should refer to the original sources and / or more up to date texts. This essay should not be reproduced either in part or whole.) Background and introduction Students had written card to their tutor; ‘Merry Christmas’ was the message and in a variety of languages: English, Italian, Chinese, Polish, African, German, Malaysian, Spanish and others, which remained unidentified (tutor’s limitations). It was touching, but more than that it was a sharp reminder that for teaching to be relevant and meaningful to students, course design and teaching has to take into account the issues, needs and opportunities presented by learner diversity and increasing globalisation. An inclusive definition of diversity A personal, anecdotal recognition of the importance of student diversity is backed by weight of evidence and research. The Higher Education Statistics Agency (2005), identified that of all first degree students in 2003/4, at least 6.4% were known to have a disability, c. 56% were female and 16% part time. Numerous references, projects, papers and discussions are dedicated to the topics of diversity and its stable mate ‘widening participation’. They have emerged, not only in specialist HE channels such as the HEFCE website but also, as...

What Is Human Services?

...University of phoenix | What is Human Services? | | | Tina CooperBSHS/302 | 11/21/2010Kristie Hilton | | What is Human Services? Everyone at some point in their lives needs help. This help could range from help with their bills to help with adequate shelter or even help with everyday living skills. No matter what the reason is for the help, it is an inevitable that people need it. In these times of need, people may wonder who they can turn to for help. This question often goes unanswered because people are so unsure. Rest assured, however, that Human Services is here to help. People just need to know where to look and even how to look for this help. Goal of Human Services According to the National Organization for Human Services, the field is broadly defined (2009). There are so many goals of the Human Services field that it is hard to define just one. The main thing that human service workers strive for, however, is the commitment that they make to service populations. This commitment is one to improve the overall quality of life to the populations that they serve (National Organization for Human Services, 2009). There can also be different goals for different types of human service workers. Depending on the setting of the workplace, these goals can range from teaching a basic living skill to a consumer to finding the help that someone needs, such as job assistance or even helping with finding funding for a higher education. All of these things would...

Dissociative Identity Disorder Analysis

...is questionable. This every so often ensures a biased representation of details, research, and literature (Reinders, 2008). Within the iatrogenic understanding two states can be distinguished: individuals imitate DID on an unconscious level, or individuals imitate DID on a conscious level. In the former case, individuals are convinced that they have DID. Subsequently, they are certain they are made up of multiple personalities without having control over their condition. Therapeutic dependence, high susceptibility or high-fantasy disposal may contribute to the effectiveness of the therapeutic mediation in the formation of DID occurrences. In this case, individuals honestly believe that they have from DID. Thus, this is an unconscious development as they are not aware of their imitation, and in that occurrence the therapist endures full accountability for the produced DID. In the second case, individuals actively feign DID through conscious involvement to please their therapist. Therefore, exhibiting DID symptoms is consciously selected behavior, but without any hidden intention other than to satisfy the therapist. In a more general setting, conscious DID imitation is referred to as malingering and is as a result labeled in the pseudogenic segment below. Conscious DID imitation is also increasingly incorporated as a control condition in experiential DID research (Reinders, 2008)....

River View Plaza

...River View Plaza New Services Memo Date: June 12, 2009 To: Steve Taylor, facilities manager From: Heather Reinders, DigiFast employee Subject: The advantages of a new service in the building This memo presents my ideas for adding a new service to the building. I propose we add a second break room, a gaming cafe, to the third floor of the building. How does this benefit the building? The most important advantage is that it will increase profit for the entire building. People from all over the building will be able to use this room. This means that they will be buying snacks, lunch, and drinks which will provide a significant amount of increase in funds for the building. A second advantage is that it will increase productivity throughout the businesses in the building, particularly for those businesses on the third and fourth floors. Currently those of us on the third and fourth floors are having to take longer breaks because of the time it takes to get to the break room on the first floor. By placing another break room on the third floor this will reduce the amount of time employees will take for breaks; therefore becoming more productive. The increased productivity is sure to increase profits for the entire building, thus providing validity for the first advantage listed above. How would the break room be set up? The new break room would be set up, as previously mentioned, as a gaming cafe. There would be a small restaurant; which restaurant could be agreed...

...Research proposal Consumer choice of service provision in services industries Birgit Rettinger Author: Dipl.-Kffr. Birgit Rettinger Doctoral Student ESCP-EAP European School of Management Berlin Chair of Marketing (Prof. Dr. Frank Jacob) Heubnerweg 6 14059 Berlin Germany T: ++49 (0) 30 / 3 20 07-129 F: ++49 (0) 30 / 3 20 07-118 birgit.rettinger@escp-eap.de I. Introduction In the past decade the range of service provision modes in services industries has increased considerably especially as information technology got increasingly sophisticated. Accordingly, the phenomenon of multiple service provision options, owned by one company and providing similar services simultaneously is relatively new (Neslin et al. 2006). Moreover, modified consumer habits and lifestyles have led to altered attitudes concerning modes of service provision. At the same time, there has be a growing call for a paradigm shift to customer focus and value creation (see for instance, Sheth and Sisodia 2003). In line with this, the notion of the consumer‟s part in value creation has changed. Consumers now are seen as actively involved in creating value instead of being only passive responders (Beckett and Nayak 2008; Vargo and Lusch 2004; Xie et al. 2008). II. Statement of the Problem and Purpose of the Study The research is intended to focus exclusively on the consumer‟s perspective concerning the choice of service provision in services industries. This is regarded as consistent...

Anxiety Disorder

...disorder characterized by chronic depression). Such disorders can be traced to a long standing inability to derive satisfaction from one’s life alongside the family issues that worry people, the expectations from the society that leave one apprehensive and a person’s coping strategies which mostly are maladaptive (Corey, 2012). The details do not present a clear diagnosis as to anxiety disorder’s root cause in many cases, hence the need to be cautious when deciding on a therapeutic course of action. Everyone’s unique experiences bring up psychosocial challenges which may become the main focus of the clinical therapies. People may experience phase-of-life issues; present parent-child problems while at the same time having partner problems (Reinders et al, 2006). A great number of cases present spiritual problems and religious identity issues, problems arising from seeking an identity and occupational problems. Children learn to have loyalties to their family roots which impacts on their perception of self and serves to ease feelings of anxiety, guilt, depression and the need for approval (Corey,...

The Importance Of Digital Storytelling

...defines it as a type of visual narrative that requires students to apply these skills. Because the digital story uses images to carry the visual messages, students need explicit instruction in reading images and learning the codes and conventions. Hronová (2011) indicates that it is a useful means of how to combine both personal narratives with the use of technology in the classes of English language. It is the practice of combining personal narrative with multimedia (images, audio and text) to produce a short autobiographical movie. In addition, Robin (2011) defines it as the practice of using computer- based tools to tell stories and includes multiple forms of media: images and/or video, music, text and narration. Also, Reinders (2011) indicates that it is simply the telling of stories in electronic form, students can combine two or more of the following, either produced by themselves or by others: text ;audio ;music ;video; Photos. They can produce a video with voice-over, a website, an audio interview, or simply a written text. Hull and Nelson (2005) define it as a form of multimedia consisting of images and segments of video with background music and a voice-over narrative. Therefore, digital storytelling has emerged as a powerful teaching and learning tool that engages both teachers and students. It is the art of telling stories through the use of various multimedia such as text, images, audio and video. It combines the functions of visualizing and...

Reproductive Health

...Chapter I THE PROBLEM Introduction “Arming the youth with information,” one of the goals of the Reproductive Health Bill. In line with one of the two targets of Goal 5 - Improving Maternal Health - of the eight Millennium Development Goals which is achieving universal access to reproductive health by 2015. To achieve its goals, the bill provides for mandatory reproductive health education and that it be taught in "an age-appropriate manner... by adequately trained teachers starting from Grade 5 up to Fourth Year High School." As Iloilo Representative Janette Garin, author of the Reproductive Health Care Act says, “It’s very difficult to live in a society where we will be hypocritical and pretend that nothing is happening. But as early as grade 4 and 3, children, especially those in public schools, already have girlfriends and boyfriends.” Defined by United Nations (UN) on ICPD 1994, 'Reproductive health' is “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and...not merely the absence of disease or infirmity, in all matters relating to the reproductive system and its functions and processes.” Considering the fact that we are a Christian nation, some people and religious groups find this topic very sensitive to be discussed among youngsters. In this regard, Filipino mothers have the “you-will-learn-when-you-are-old-enough” attitude.
