Business Research Article

...Business Research Article Dorene Herod-Nelson RES/351-Business Research August 28,2013 Esmaail Nikjeh Business Research Article When it comes to business research, all parties involved must be on the same page. There has to be a common goal everyone is trying to reach in order for the research to evolve as it should. One great way to research a product or even find out about customer service in a restaurant is by giving surveys. Now personally I do surveys about once a week through different organizations, where they are doing research on anything from the kind of soap you use to the gas station you most likely get gas from and why. This is a marketing tool to help them develop a better product or to fix the existing one. When a manufacturer comes out with a new product, surveys from consumers can really be key to developing the best product. They can research the size of the product, how much it should cost, where it should be sold, or even additional places it should be sold, and also the packaging may be the issue with the consumer. Those are the advantages of business surveys. “Manufacturers have a lot to think about when designing their products. Packaging plays received packaging can get neglected by consumers. That’s because it’s what happens once the product hits the store that can make a world of difference between bright profit margins and dull performances.”1 ( http://www.macorr.com/blog/?cat=4) “The first step is identifying key competitors......

It deals with the effectiveness and the pervasiveness of the advertising. Search patterns were a strength used to pinpoint major target preferences. An additional strength was the length of the study, which seemed to fit the product. Yahoo alone is already a popular search engine, which rivals the Google search engine. Business Research

...Business Research Ethics University Of Phoenix RES/351 PA12BSB01 Instructor: Dr. Jay Deb Workshop/ Week No.: 2 September 4, 2012 Business Research Ethics “Many patients volunteer for research in the hope that the knowledge generated will benefit others. When a company deceives them into volunteering for a useless study, it cynically exploits their good will, undermining the cause of legitimate research everywhere (Elliot, 2011).” Last year, the Archives of Internal Medicine published a scornful re-evaluation of a 12-year-old research study of Neurontin. Neurontin is a seizure drug made by Pfizer. This particular research included more than 2,700 subjects and was carried out by Parke-Davis which is now a part of Pfizer, was distinguished for how poorly it was conducted. The investigators lacked experience and proper training therefore the plan of this research was imperfect. Very few if any useful conclusions were made. What is disturbing is that 11 patients died and 73 more experienced “serious adverse events” because of this study. The result of this unethical conduct was a few headlines with no demands for sanctions or apologies, and no one pledging to investigate (Elliot, 2011). This particular study was not what it seemed. According to litigation documents what looked like a clinical trial, in fact was merely a marketing device known as a “seeding trial.” Seeding trials serve only one purpose and that purpose is not to conduct advance......

Aurora Textile Company

...CASE 21: AURORA TEXTILE COMPANY Q1. How has Aurora Textile performed over the past four years? Be prepared to provide financial ratios that clear present a clear picture of Aurora’s financial condition? A- From 1999 – 2002, Aurora Textiles Company’s financial performance was unappealing and disheartening. Like many of its competitors, Aurora had been struggling financially. The company had not responded quickly to the deteriorating business environment, and had suffered consecutive losses for the past four years. Figure 1: Net Earnings of Aurora Textile Company (1999-2002) The graph above shows the net earnings of the company from 1999-2002. As we see, throughout the years, the net earnings have declined and resulted in a loss, especially in 2001. This could be attributed to the business risks that arose from the intense competition that characterized the industry in which Aurora operates. Moreover in January 2005, the US textile industry experienced intense competition when the WTO lifted the ban on quotas, which worsened Aurora’s financial condition and its credit rating of BB. The main reason for the decline in net earnings was due to the textile industry facing difficult circumstances. Figure 2: Financial ratios (1999-2002) The above table shows the financial ratios of the company from 1999-2000. Measures of probability have worsened during these years as ROA and ROE have been declining. Net sales have been steadily declining which led to management’s...

Stages of the Research Project

...Week 3 Individual: Stages of the research Project RES/351 Word of Mouth is considered a powerful marketing device. The impact of consumers discussing products and services with other potential clients can be both beneficial or negative depending upon the view of the customer. Word of mouth referrals have long been considered a vital aspect of marketing but in the new digital age this referral system is drawn into question. One of the major criticisms of the word of Mouth today is that it is less influential due to globalization. The internet provides a new voice for consumers but is this voice as powerful as traditional word of mouth? This new field of research is slowly being explored. Due to the age of the internet, there are limited studies in this area. One of the most prominent studies was performed by Microsoft and Keller Fay Group. The study “Talk Track” was intended to measure the impact of the word of mouth both traditional and nontraditional forms. The research collected 24,724 interviews from participants ages 18-54 (Microsoft; Keller Fay Group, 2011). The study was self-reported with the participants using diaries to keep track of conversations concerning brands. Participants also completed online surveys that further detailed the word of mouth conversations. The independent variable in this experiment was the word of mouth, and the dependent variable was impact of the word of mouth on consumer brand values. The sample sizes of participants were: Adult......
