Since I was 18 I have had only a couple types of jobs. I started waitressing at 18 from there I have been an armed nuclear security guard, worked in a distribution center, and back to waitressing. Of these jobs, my favorite is waitressing.

I started working as a waitress for The Bee Hive initially in 2002, I have been there off and on since. I work for a man named Mike (Mufit) and his wife Miska (Misaret) They are Albanian. We only have 3 employees besides the owners. The only day we are all there is Sunday. As a waitress/server, I pride myself on being able to bring joy and fulfillment with the supply of great service and good food. (Sometimes my crazy jokes too)

Waitressing to me is possibly the hardest job I have ever done. There

Why these men did what they did to me. Old, disgusting men. It was horrible. They knew I did not want to be there, but they paid their money. They used me. I was their property for the night. They destroyed me. (14-year-old girl at Casa Hogar, a shelter in Costa Rica for children rescued from the country’s sex trade1) OVERVIEW Prostitution has been called the world’s oldest “profession.” In reality, it is the world’s oldest “oppression” and continues to be one of the most overlooked human rights abuses of women on the planet today. 2 Prostitution of women is a particularly lethal form of violence against women, and a violation of a woman’s most basic human rights. While society attempts to normalize prostitution on a variety of levels (discussed later in this paper), prostituted women are subjected to violence and abuse at the hands of paying “clients.” For the vast majority of prostituted women, “prostitution is the experience of being hunted, dominated, harassed, assaulted and battered.” 3 It is “sexual terrorism against women at the hands of men and little is being done to stop the carnage...

In drawing out the commonalities of their experiences, we have begun to shed light on the terrain. We must transform the terrain if women are to have equality and safety in their workplaces. 2 We dedicate this report to Theresa Vince whose death in 1996 changed the views of many people in Ontario about sexual and...

When He Was Bad

...“It doesn‟t have to be complicated. You and me and a mutual attraction. It doesn‟t come much simpler than that.” “Good times—is that all you‟re about?” Ellie shook her head. “Of course you are. Men like you always are.” “Men like me?” “Arrogant, ego as wide as the blue Aussie sky. Always looking out for number one.” Matt studied her. The telltale blush, the sparkle in those eyes, the way her fingers played over the back of the chair. “You‟re a contradiction, do you realize that? You say you don‟t want complicated, yet you‟re rejecting simple. What do you want, Ellie Rose?” Her mouth tightened and she swept to the door, yanked it open. Then she turned and glared back at him. “With you, Matt McGregor? Nothing. I just want to be left alone.” When not teaching or writing, ANNE OLIVER loves nothing more than escaping into a book. She keeps a box of tissues handy—her favorite stories are intense, passionate, against-all-odds romances.
