...PART I: DESCRIBE TWO PUBLICLY TRADED BUSINESS RIVALS 1. This research paper is a business analysis on the two publicly traded corporations, McDonalds and Burger King. Both of them are competing in fast food industry. Fast food industry is one of the largest food services sectors around the world. This industry focuses on the lower prices strategy in order to attract customers worldwide. Therefore, S&P Industry surveys suggests that “Our view is that restaurants will be largely unable or unwilling to raise prices much, if at all, for fear of losing customers to the competition” (Restaurant Industry Survey, Standard and Poor’s). On the other hand, the fast food industry is facing great criticisms from different health organizations and most people blame the fast food for causing health problems such as obesity and diabetes to the teenagers and adults nowadays. Recently, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors “passed a ban on restaurant toy giveaways unless the aforementioned meals meet certain healthy nutritional standards for calories, sodium and fat” (Mckinley, The New York Times). The authority urged the fast food industry to balance the nutrition needs for kids. ...History of Tablets The History Of The Tablet, An Idea That Steve Jobs Stole And Turned Into A Game-Changer (Bort, 2013). I am doing a research paper on the history of tablets. My question for this topic is whether Apple’s Ipad was the first tablet created or not. You will find out in the rest of this paper. Apple’s Ipad got most of the credited for killing the netbook market but it was not Steve Jobs’ idea (Bort, 2013). The first tablet was the Linus Write-Top that debuts in 1987. The Linus Write-Top revolutionized the way businesses check their databases. It is a “resistive” type of touchscreen in which voltage applies to the screen edges, and the stylus detects the voltage (Linus Write-Top, 2013). The Linus (“of or about lines”) converts your scrawls into perfect text of five characters per second (Linus Write-Top, 2013). It was an expensive piece of technology as most old computers were. The GridPad launched two years later in 1989. The military and law enforcement used it mostly while consumers ignored it because of the high price. The GridPad was the first touchscreen tablet that was portable. It was used primarily for experimental purposes and the like (GridPad, 2013). The United States military specified more rigidity than those sold to the public (GridPad, 2013). Microsoft’s CEO Bill Gates debuts its first tablet computer in 2000. It would become a big thing five years down the road as Bill Gates predicts. He was five years off. The device would feature...

Within my paper, I will summarize, critique, and capture implications of the articles. The first article is Assessing Personality in the DSM-5: The Utility of Bipolar Constructs. The second is Predicting the Behavior of Offenders with Personality Disorder: Issues for Investigative Psychology. The last article is Interactions between Bipolar Disorder and Antisocial Personality Disorder in Trait Impulsivity and Severity of Illness. All articles have something to do with personality disorders. The article Assessing Personality in the DSM-5: The utility of Bipolar Constructs was written by Douglas B. Samuel. The 8 page article was published by Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. This article was about the DSM-5 labeling the personality disorders as categorical constructs. Most of the categorical labels can provide relatively straightforward and rapid communication about a person. These types of categories will lead to more stimulating research and generate specific treatment recommendations. There are some disadvantages to the categorical approach including the excessive diagnostic co occurrence, inadequate coverage, excessive heterogeneity within the categories, lack of meaningful or well-validated...

... INTRODUCTION Purpose/Justification Problems related to reading comprehension have been besetting both private and public educational institutions all over the country. In the Philippine setting evidences revealed that 2009, 2010 and 2011 NAT results exemplified that the second year students struggled much on reading comprehension as shown by the three mean percentage scores in English subject. In particular, the mean percentage scores of Macario B. Asistio Sr. High School—Unit I for the school years 2008-2009; 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 are 43.11, 36.57 and 36.60 respectively (Department of Educational Testing and Research Center, 2009; 2010; 2011). Likewise, comprehension related studies conducted locally have verified and supported that the students showed difficulty in reading comprehension (Columna, 2013; Ayles, 2009 and Dela Cruz, 2004). In a study conducted by Columna (2013), results revealed that the students were struggling to comprehended texts in their L2 with majority of them fall under instructional level and a significant of them fall under frustration level. In the same manner, Dela Cruz (2004) found that the students in the secondary level have difficulties in reading materials in the content areas especially in Mathematics and Science. The researcher posits that these comprehension problems have rooted from the questioning pedagogical strategy employed by the teachers. Chin (2002) found that questions, particularly those...

...Writing a Research Paper in Literary Studies1 The most important aspect to bear in mind is that you are writing a research paper and not an essay! This means that you are arguing a thesis with reference to secondary literature – it is essential that you conduct relevant research and that you integrate your findings into your paper. Things to keep in mind: • Your paper should have a well-defined topic and a precisely formulated argument. • Your approach should be recognizably systematic. • Your argument should remain relevant and clear-cut, consistent and coherent throughout. • Your secondary material should be discussed critically and documented accurately. • Writing is a process; you should constantly revisit and revise. DON’T FORGET TO PRINT, SIGN AND ATTACH THE “PLAGIATSHINWEIS”! First steps Many students neglect the preliminary work of the writing process, but if you give it sufficient attention the actual writing of your paper will be faster and more organized than if you just start writing. The most important thing is to be systematic in your approach. 1. Finding a topic Perhaps the most difficult part of any research paper is finding an adequate topic, formulating a title and making a coherent argument. Once you have decided on a topic or a title, which in literary studies will most likely involve a certain text, rephrase it as a question to guide your research. You should also think about the methodology you intend to apply to your analysis...
