Should taxes on people making over $250,000 a year be changed?
Should Transportation Security (TSA) regulations be changed?
Should regulations for home schools be changed?

I have decided to research the question “Should taxes on people making over $250,000 a year be changed?”. I believe capital gains tax rules should be modified for people making over $250,000 annually. I will be gearing this discussion toward our legislators who decide on these laws. The only way progress will be made in our tax system and our National Debt is if we have a dramatic change in our tax revenue. We must get rid of tax loopholes and make taxation equal. The percentage of capital gains tax should progress at the same percentage rate as the individual or couple’s tax rate.
Currently, we have very strict TSA standards but I would like to make a case regarding the question “Should Transportation Security (TSA) regulations be changed?”. Currently, I believe that when an individual who is doing the same type of inspection over and over, day after day, they open up themselves to be complacent. When we look at the inspection integrity of our cargo transportation and passenger movement systems in the US, we cannot allow our system of inspections to create complacency. I would write this as an external process improvement suggestion for the TSA. I believe the TSA should have several changes of workstations each day to lessen the level of complacency that occurs when an individual works in one position for eight to twelve hours a day.
My wife went through home school from first grade to graduating high school. “Should regulations for homeschools be changed?” I believe that if the current laws of a state interfere with a family completing an excellent home education, they should be revised to allow freedom of home teaching. I am also going to look at the other end of the spectrum for homeschool. If laws are not strict enough to ensure families, who do complete homeschool, are giving their children what they need to succeed, they need to be revised to ensure the educational goals for children are met at all levels.

Research Topics with Explanation

...Research: Topics with Explanation English 215 Strayer University January 19, 2014 Research: Topics with Explanation The following three topics I chose for this assignment are “Should transportation security (TSA) regulations be changed”, “Should regulations regarding the use of cellular phones while driving be standardized?”, and “Should DUI (driving under the influence) laws be changed?” Each one of these topics will mention the type of public, a preliminary thesis statement, and references that will support some of these ideas. The first topic, “Should transportation security (TSA) regulations be changed”. We all remember the incidents with 9/11 and the security policies in our transportation system which is imperative to many travelers by land or air. Therefore, our audience for this research is anyone who travels. The nation’s transportation system has to ensure freedom of movement for people and commerce. The thesis statement to this topic is “Security issues about the transportation system”. The second topic “Should regulations regarding the use of cell phones while driving be standardized”. Anyone can have an accident when engaged in such activities that make them irresponsible drivers. The thesis statement most suitable for this subject is “The use of cellular phones while driving brings destruction to drivers, and it can be as dangerous as drinking under the influence while other laws like distracted driving might arguably allow police to charge drivers...

...ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR BUS 311 Proposed Topic for Research Paper Gilbert Lee Gragg March 4, 2015 Topic #1. Newport News shipbuilding recurring racial and ethical issues regarding treatment of non-white workers. Topic #2. Consistent questionable treatment of employees at Newport News Shipyard. Topic #3. Preferential treatment of white employees over black employees at Newport News Shipyard. I worked at Newport News Shipyard in 2008 as a security guard and unlike recent cases state, treatment showed all workers showing disrespect and racial based jokes at the other group’s expense. A noticeable difference was the education in which the black work force lacked over white counterparts. Such a large workforce with considerable educational and historical backgrounds can lead to tension, especially when a group feels at a disadvantage. I plan on interviewing some of the management staff, equal opportunity representatives and possible employees in relation to the proposed topics of interest. There are few articles regarding the topics listed, however research conducted by interviewing employees and staff at the shipyard should and will yield the proper amount of needed evidence to conduct a thorough paper. This topic is of interest to me, because I would like to delve deeper into the organizational and psychological aspect to see if only people of non-white origin have wanted to search for a monetary gain and if it should be the company or the individuals...

How to Write a Compare &Contrast Essay

...structure, making any ingenuity to fall by the wayside. Go over the rules on how to write a general essay, and then structure your compare/contrast essay in one of the following two formats: 1. Introduction 2. Your introduction — like the five-paragraph-essay, should open generally (with a quotation, anecdote, generalization), and lead into the thesis statement. 3. Topic 1 4. This next portion of your essay (which may consist of one paragraph or several) should cover only the first topic of the comparison and contrast. Compare/Contrast essays take two topics and illustrate how they are similar and dissimilar. Do not mention topic 2 in this first portion. 5. Topic 2 6. This next portion of your essay (which may also consist of one or more paragraphs) should cover the second of the two topics. Do not discuss Topic 1 in this section. Since you have already gone into great detail about it, you may allude to Topic 1 briefly; however, do not analyze Topic 1 in this section. This portion of the paper is to discuss Topic 2 in great detail. 7. Topics 1 and 2 Together 8. Now that you have analyzed both Topic 1 and Topic 2 independently, now it is time to analyze them together. This section may also be one or several paragraphs. 9. Conclusion 10. The conclusion — like the introduction — should be a generalization of the thesis. This paragraph should express your certainty and absolute knowledge on the subject matter. You should reaffirm your thesis (essentially restate it in...

Personal Narrative: What I Learned In A College Class

...The first useful topic we covered was about planning out a weekly schedule. One of the first class activities we did was highlighting our “free time” on a time sheet to realize how much time we actually had. Before college started, I was stressed thinking about the time I needed to study. However, this activity made me realize I have a lot of “free time”. The next useful topic we covered was the advisor interview. It was not until I finished my advisor interview that I realized I needed to switch advisors. I realized I did not have the connection with my advisor and did not trust him when selecting classes. I always questions if I should switch, but this interview helped me make the final decision to switch. I am extremely thankful I did this activity because my advisor will impact my experience for the next four...

Paragraph Writing

...Jessica Gibson I think my essay could have been a lot better than what I did. My essay lacked sequential order. I feel like my sentences could have been a bit more complex also. I think my topics did address my thesis statement the correct way. My paragraphs did not have a strong closing to support my topic. My essay only had little coherence; It flowed in certain portions of the essay. I think the order of my essay could have been revised from less important to most important. I think I did have strong evidence to support my topic but I could’ve used more vivid language. I also think the essay did reflect the evidence and explained the importance. I didn’t use many transitions in the essay neither. I think I could have used more transitional words to help my essay flow better. My goal when rewriting my essay is to be as vivid as possible. I admit my rough draft had many errors but I will try my best to avoid those errors when writing my final draft. My final draft will have better sentence structure and more transitions to help my essay flow better. I will try my best to support my topics in each paragraph so my essay. My final draft should be fresh and interesting. I think I didn’t paste myself for my rough draft and was trying to get the essay done. I must learn to paste myself and take out time to get all my thoughts together to improve my essay. I will try to use some of the techniques from the class to have a successful...

...Qiyana Wallace Ms. Garrett Composition II Sec. 35 March 13, 2013 Domestic Terrorism in 9/11 Attacks For my research paper this semester, I would like to narrow my topic to domestic terrorism involvement in the series of attack that occurred on 9/11. There are many academic journals, live interviews, newspaper articles, books, and numerous websites that can help me do my paper. Even though this may be tedious, I am very interested in government affairs and domestic tragedies. I have always felt a close tie to the 9/11 attacks. I was a resident of New York, New York in 2001. During the attack of the Twin Towers in Manhattan, I witnessed the whole thing as I went to work with my mom at the JP Morgan Chase Headquarters. Even though I was only six at the time, I understood the significance of the attack. So from a young age I have been interested on the topic. A few years ago, while watching a 9/11 documentary, several times they had mentioned domestic terrorists’ role in the events that occurred that day. Now that I have the chance to do a thorough research on the topic, I would like to. While researching, I hope to find a stand in the argument. In reading numerous amount of credible sources I think I would find how big domestic terrorism really is in America. I believe I will strengthen my knowledge in the government and its policies. In researching the 9/11 attacks, I think many sources will show how propaganda may have played a factor. Lastly, I think I will see whether...

Research Topics

...Research Topics with Explanation Aneshea Johnson Professor Holly Sprinkle English- Research and Writing 7/13/2012 In this paper, I will discuss three topics that I have an interest in writing about for this English class. The first topic that I have chosen is to critique is “Should citizens be allowed to carry a concealed weapon to their work place”. The reason that I have chosen this topic is because I am against guns and carrying them to work should not legal. I think that it is okay for people to own guns when it is for hunting purposes and I do understand that people need to protect their house-holds, but the bad outweighs the good in my opinion. The audience for this paper would be law makers, and fellow citizens who agree and disagree with me. My thesis statement for the paper would be guns are weapons that people who are not properly trained to use them should already not be able to own them, so these same people should not be able to take them to their place of employment. The second topic that I am interested in writing about is “Should children of parents who do not allow them to be vaccinated be allowed to attend public school”. The reason that I have chosen this topic is because I would like to research the topic and form an opinion because I currently do not know enough of the pros and cons of being vaccinated. My primary audience would be the school boards and parents of children who attend public schools...
