Summary ( Abstract )
Malaysia is a country in South-East Asia, located partly on a peninsula of the Asian mainland and partly on the northern third of the island of Borneo. The country is ranked as the 9th most visited place in the world.
This study was carried out to determine the factors that influence the decreasing number of tourists that visits Jeram Linang which is located at Kelantan. Kelantan is a state of Malaysia. The capital and royal seat is Kota Bharu. The Arabic honorific of the state is Darul Naim, ("The Blissful Abode"). Kelantan is positioned in the north-east of Peninsular Malaysia. Jeram Linang (sometimes written Jeram Lenang) is one consolation forest recreation area of waterfalls in Kelantan. Jeram Linang located in Forest Save Ulu Sat, in the Colonies Machang, Kelantan and contacted with highway. Visitors may reach there by any suitable vehicles.
A total of 30 men and women between 15 to 36 years and above were randomly selected to be the respondents of the study. A set of questionnaire was design to gain a primary data from the respondents about Jeram Linang. A set of interview question also was design to support the answer, comments, and recommendations from the respondents. Other than that, an observation was conducted after all 30 respondents finished answering the questionnaire and the interview sessions. An initial draft was made to be the benchmark for the observation process.
The overall findings of the study indicates that the location of Jeram Linang was the most important factors that influence the decreasing number of tourists that visits Jeram Linang. Aside from that, Jeram Linang also gain less popularity that other recreational places.
In conclusions, some recommendations have been received to solve the problems that contributed in the decreasing number of tourists that visit Jeram Linang. All of the recommendations are included in final part of the report.
