Resolution To A New Me

Everyone has issues in life that is difficult to ignore, whether it is personal, physical, and social. In my case, my problem is trying to find solution to push and motivate myself to live a healthy lifestyle and exercise daily. I will conduct a research on why this is a problem and solutions to resolve this issue. Next, I will design plans and strategies applicable to health and exercise. Then I will evaluate and consider all information gathered as possible solutions. My ultimate goal is to succeed and find a resolution to a new me.
Identifying the problem: Living a healthy lifestyle and adding daily exercise is essential to good health. I allowed myself to follow a lifestyle by eating a healthy balance diet and exercising four-to five times a week. However, shortly after I discovered that I was expecting, everything came down the tunnel. I had a difficult time with my pregnancy and it detained my ability to exercise. Though, eating right was still viable, I simply let that go along with mobility. The outcome of not eating right and bed rest enormously added seventy pounds to my small frame body. Aside from the excess weight gain, my biggest day-to-day problem is motivating myself to exercise and work out daily. Presently the baby is out, my eating habit is out of control and my motivation is lacking at its best when it comes down to exercising. Even with a handful schedule, living healthy should be a priority. I believe that this is the time finally change, reduce the body fat and live a healthier lifestyle. To solve the issue, I will be researching different articles, reviews, and sources of motivation. Gathering information on three topics that will help ensure my motivation. First, I will explore the outcome of not exercising and adding exercises to health. The evaluation process of the health benefits that associate with

Ethical Delimma

...lines are blurred due to various reasons. Sometimes, relationships, beliefs and principles come into play when the time comes for one to make certain decisions. This scenario is called an ethical dilemma whereby individuals are forced to weigh the right and wrong of their actions (Westerholm, Nilstun, & Øvretveit, 2004). Therefore, this paper is going to examine the ethical dilemma that can happen in a workplace and try to find the appropriate resolution to this conflict based on ethical theories. To answer this question, this essay will, firstly, describe a work situation at my previous employment that has posed an ethical dilemma for me. Later, this essay will look at the resolution, if any, that has taken place to solve the dilemma. Finally, by using the Utilitarianism theory, this paper is going to analyze and assess whether the resolution is ethical. Description of a work situation with an ethical dilemma At my previous employment, I have worked as a technical communicator for a major health organization. My task is to develop a new software system acting as a database that will gather all the necessary records from hospitals, clinics, health maintenance organizations, laboratories and physicians around my area. These records that contained personal information about the patients are highly confidential and private in nature. Revealing some of this classified information can cause a lot of damage to these individuals. One likely situation that could happen is limiting their...

Critical Incident

...this paper about actually just happened at my new job. I received my nursing degree last March and started working in LTC last summer. After 6 months experience, I was lucky enough to get hired as a new nurse on a telemetry/ step down ICU floor. I started this position on January 5, 2015 and will be finishing my one to one orientation next week. As the weeks have passed and my patient load has picked up, I have been able to work more and more independently while my preceptor attends to other patients or matters. If all I had to do was assess, pass medications and chart, I would be fine but as we all know, critical thinking has to prevail and careful watch has to be of utmost importance for such sick patients. On the night of the near critical incident, I was taking care of 6 patients. It was the very beginning of the shift and I was getting report as my preceptor was attending to a patient that was crashing fast. She told me to just continue with report and start my night and she would fill me in later as this patient had to be sent to the ICU. I finished getting report on my 5 patients and was sitting down to organize my night when my preceptor came over to me and asked what I was told in report. When I got to the new admit that had just come to the floor before the beginning of our shift, she suddenly stopped me. It was the words…”she went into a fib on the med/surg floor and needs a Cardizem drip started”. She asked me if the pm nurse started the drip before she...

Allen and Meyer's 3 Component Model of Organisational Commitment

...Organisational commitment is described to be “An employee’s calculative attachment to the organisation, whereby the employee is motivated to stay only because leaving would be costly” (McShane, 2013, p. 114). Allen and Meyer 3 component model of organisation commitment is comprised of three components which are Affective commitment, Continuance commitment and normative commitment. In this essay, I will be explaining how these components aided the resolution of an internal conflict of interest and what aspects of the Allen and Meyer three component model of organisation commitment could have been used to achieve a more improved outcome. I will describe my working example and how my manager resolved the situation and give recommendations on how the use of the three components, mainly affective commitment and normative commitment, could have been used to create a better working environment for all involved. Allen and Meyer described commitment to an organisation a psychological state and that this psychological state can be differed from one another. (1991, p. 67). The framework for this theory is based on 3 sections which are Affective commitment, Continuance commitment and normative commitment. Affective commitment is referred to as “the employee’s emotional attachment to, identification with, and involvement in the organisation” or otherwise referred to as an employee wanting to stay with the organization. Continuance commitment which is described as “to an awareness of the costs...

Introduction The organization that will be focused on is the Clayton County Board of Education. The board consists of nine citizens who are elected by the community. The Clayton County Board of Education is responsible for the programs, finances, education, employment, and other policies within Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS). CCPS is a school district located in Jonesboro, Georgia. The system is the fifth largest school district in Georgia and is comprised of over 50,000 students. The district is considered a Title 1 school because of its high percentage of low-income families (SACS Report).. Although the district receives government grants and various allocations to improve school conditions, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) revoked accreditation for the district in 2008. The Clayton County Public School system was the third school district to lose accreditation in over forty years (SACS Report). As a resident of Georgia, it is important the school systems are effective and can adequately educate children. I have family and friends that live throughout the state of Georgia. The loss of accreditation hinders children and their education. Students attending CCPS faced difficulty being accepted into colleges and universities. They also faced dilemmas retaining various scholarships. Not only were students...

Security Stability in Somalia

...Security Stability in Somalia Since their indirect elections on September 12, 2012, and despite the fragile regional security situation of the Horn of Africa, Somalia has continued to experience significant and sustained progress towards security stability in their country. In order for Somalia to succeed as viable and trusted state, the United States (US) as well as the International Community should not allow another security stability failure in Somalia. The US and the International Community must focus on helping to sustain Somalia’s efforts against the fight of the Al-Shabaab terrorist organization, help to counter piracy, and to help build capacity and capability in the Somali government and its institutions. While at the same time provide the support to attend Somali basic humanitarian aid needs and financial assistance. First, one of the reasons why the general security conditions in Somalia keep on improving is principally thanks to the sustained operations carried out against the Jihadist organization Al-Shabaab by the Somali national security forces in conjunction with the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), and with other associates and allied militias of the government. These operations are currently successful in managing to achieve the retreat of the Islamist radicals from some of the main cities of the south and center of the country. The sustainment of these operations will deteriorate Al-Shabaab operations capacity as a military force, promote the desertion...

Strengths's Reflective Paper

...improve in your management current position? 9 Conclusion 9 References 11 Strengths Reflection Essay Draft Introduction Tom Rath’s Strengths Finder 2.0 identified my five greatest strengths and talents. The results concluded that my top five strengths, in order of strength, were: Achiever, Harmony, Futuristic, Restorative, and Responsibility. Rath (2007) states the aim of most learning programs is “to help us become who we are not” (p.1). The goal of this type of skills testing is to identify our strengths and talents and focus on increasing those rather than addressing our weaknesses. As I continue my journey to obtain a master’s degree in project management, I am eager to learn all the different facets that will help and support me in becoming an effective manager. Effective leaders are always investing in strengths, surrounding themselves with the right people and maximizing their own team, and understanding their followers’ needs (Rath & Conchie, 2008). In this paper, I would like to describe and reflect on my five greatest strengths and how these strengths may be supportive, conducive, a hindrance, or barrier to my management style. I would like to identify how my Achiever, Harmony, Futuristic, Restorative, and Responsibility themed strengths reinforce,...

Additionally, Franks would be liable for any injuries caused from defects on the property. Case 49 #5a: Lease Assignment Issue: I am a college student and plan to attend classes for nine months. I signed a twelve-month apartment lease and paid a $150 security deposit. School is now over for the year and I have a summer job back home. I want to assign the balance of my lease, which is three months, to a fellow student who is going to attend summer school. Legal Application: It depends on what the original lease states; does it allow for a sublease or assignment? In any event, I must have the landlord’s consent to the sublease, also called an assignment. A clause that requires the landlord’s consent to the assignment is called a forfeiture restraint. This allows the landlord to terminate the tenancy if I attempted to assign the lease without his consent. The same rules and lease terms also apply to a sublessee. Resolution: The most likely resolution of the...

Conflict Resolution and Peace Making Paper

...Conflict Resolution and Peacemaking Paper By Jeffrey K. Kelley University of Phoenix Psy/400 Professor Sherri Sedler Biblical Tips and Tools for Conflict resolution: Conflict is all around us, in our homes, churches, communities and work environment. How we handle each conflict will determine whether we strengthen our relationship or break it up. Each situation can be dealt with in a way that can bring healing to a relationship instead of animosity and further pain. Often conflict is looked upon as a negative experience that many refuse to take part in because of poor conflict management skills but if both parties are willing to sit down and talk it can have a positive outcome. When conflict is dealt with correctly and successfully from the start then there will be a greater understanding from each individual involved and an increased likelihood of unity and an improved relationship. “It strikes me as a bit more than ironic that theological education requires certification in Pastoral counseling but absolutely no training in conflict management.” Dr. David Roozen. The Disturbing Trend in the USA Research conducted by the Barna Group has revealed two stunning facts: (1) not only is the majority of the nation's non-churched population comprised of people who consider themselves Christians, but that (2) about four out of ten of these stopped attending due to a "painful" or otherwise "negative" ordeal. Moreover, the problem is getting worse. Based on current...
