I have finished this week's reading assignment in what seems like record time. I did not speed through it like I did on I-4 when running late for my 7:00pm English class last Wednesday. Neither did I rush past it without comprehending. I completely understood the material covered. Something I wish I could have said when reading the recipe for the brownies I baked for my oldest daughter's 25th Birthday last Thursday. (Yet, despite mixing up the 1/3 cup of oil with the 2 tablespoons of water, they were rather edible.) On top of finishing the chapter so quickly, I found an amazingly comfortable spot to write my response. I do not usually curl up on the green sofa in our Florida room during this time of year. However, today I could not pass up the warmth of the sun on my shoulders coupled with the view of a freshly manicured landscape and doves taking turns bathing in the fountain. Moments where I feel so content are rare. It is times like this that cement my faith that I did the right thing by going back to school. My exemplification skills are still in the developmental stage, but I believe I will have them mastered shortly. It was not long ago that I would take more than an hour struggling to come up with words for three sentences on a greeting card. Now I can write a whole page in thirty minutes. In fact, each essay that I have written for my English class has taken me less time than the previous one. It is just a matter of time and practice.

The most historically important form of color relationalism is the classic dispositionalist view according to which, for example, red is the disposition to look red to standard observers in standard conditions (mutatis mutandis for other colors).1 However, it has become increasingly apparent in recent years that a commitment to the relationality of colors bears interest that goes beyond dispositionalism (Cohen, 2004; Matthen, 1999, 2001, 2005; Thompson, 1995).2 Accordingly, it is an important project for those interested in the metaphysics of color to sort through and assess different forms of color relationalism.
